  1. Glad to hear, as I've got an annoying list of bits for him to do on my motor
  2. I remember a friend had a 350z several years ago and his one was used to slide around unprovoked most of the time, looking back I'm sure it was due to a couple of things. Decent tyres (imho Michelin Pilot Super Sport suit the car, anything but Bridgestone in my experience), & correct pressure. Suspension bushing condition. Have fun and enjoy !
  3. I love the new Viper/Corvette/NSX/FGT - all very handsome, aggressive motors. The FGT does look better in my eyes to the NSX but the original, pop up lights NSX is the one for me (that boat has sailed for me though - price, daft now). It's frustrating that the new NSX dropped the V10 idea, and that the FGT is also a v6 Sounds pretty nice though:
  4. Worth a look: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/92120-meisterr-gt1-coilovers-opinion (I'm not affiliated of course, just good to have a read etc) I look forward to seeing what you get, and also your thoughts
  5. Absolutely, it was a few years ago but it drove those guys (no pun intended) to Moton/KW/Bilstein/Ohlins etc. I'm sure they'd not exist any more if they made shoddy products. Since we have MeisterR on here, it could be worth enquiring at the very least on their GT1 set up....
  6. Love the HAMMER ! But not on stupid stance wheels malarky like that, poor thing, looks like it's fallen out of a multi-storey car park and squashed it's suspension
  7. Intrax usually get decent reviews, a few friends had them on their 997 GT3 RS's and CSL's, one had a bad experience though (damper broke in half back in 2009).
  8. I really love the AMG CLK63 Black Series, I've spent a fair bit of time in that car, it's brilliant. A very good friend had some serious work done to the gearbox, engine and software by HWA in Affalterbach (or AMG Studio, can't remember) at some eye watering cost but I hear it was worth it. Actually, I very much miss that car, haven't been out in it for yonks Haven't been in the SLS Black Series yet, probably in Spring time unless it's been shifted by then
  9. I'll be completely honest, I was expecting some stupid table with Z's all over it (not because of yourself, just read the thread title) - this is brilliant ! Nice work
  10. The only other place I know is even further, up at Silverstone. Those guys do F1 exhausts and other bits and pieces, you'll get a work of art but it'll probably be about £6k
  11. Try: http://www.haywardandscott.com A full system is going to be expensive anyway, no matter where (IF they are good).
  12. If it was DMS Dixon Motorsport (Bexley), they've closed down (according to facebook), they did service and do things for 350z's. Unlikely but could be a friends company in Southampton, DMS Automotive.
  13. Compression arm/Banana bar. It'll only happen at lower speeds, not much beyond 35mph iirc. I had my car down at Abbey when that sound appeared, and they couldn't visibly detect it but on the driveway down we could hear it easily. Do a search for either of the above names if you want to read up a bit more.
  14. Which BC's are on it ? As obviously if they are the road ones, they'll be set-up for a much heavier car (I'm guessing you'll have stripped out 100kg or more ?). Then again, a change of springs may do the trick.
  15. A friend of mine had his Gallardo spyder in Balloon white (with bright red leather interior ), that's my favourite out of all of them if you can get a perfect match.
  16. Yep, eyes wide open is the key here, and if it's a 2nd or 3rd car then hell, it would be a brilliant project to do (I'm just gutted it's not me doing it already!). I'll ask the guys for a list anyway, doesn't hurt. There should be plenty of manual boxes for it, I'm not sure why we only got the SMG option over here but it must have been something to do with the packaging for RHD on the M5/6. The other v10 that could be good is the turbo one from the 'C6' RS6
  17. If you go down this route, I have been warned (by people I truly respect), that I should have about another £10k sitting there to fix all of the problems that come with this engine. Albeit, I'm after the M5 but obviously the thought crossed my mind as well for doing this conversion, I was going to use http://www.topcatsracing.com as they did my friends V8 Sagaris. I can get a list of potential issues if you are serious about it though, it's put me off slightly but I need a v10 in my life.
  18. Use the search, plenty of posts...
  19. Quite a lot of utterly conflicting views going on here. I wonder as well about things like the bushes, geo, tyres (& pressure), lowering springs or coilovers, and how greatly each thing affects the car. Not just the objective differences but then yep, people that have spent the money and then justify it must be better now as it looks better. I'd like to do it as well but I won't accept diluted steering response, as this is the area I'm focusing on at the moment to sharpen up again. I guess the only thing to do is to try a set out, see how the car responds
  20. Keep us posted on what happens with Zworks, I'm pretty sure there would be a fair few people interested in purchasing something just like that. (Do they look the same for 04 cars?)
  21. I absolutely detest replica's (especially as people tend pour from £20-40k on them!), unless it truly is a joke.
  22. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201257584549 I hope it was made as a joke, if not, the owner needs some serious therapy.
  23. Same here mate. I don't think the handling will be worse but the comfort will be a compromise at some point. Tricky-Ricky has brought up great points, the toughest thing will be finding a car to have a go in on the roads you know. Ohlins are usually the BEST but... £2,539
  24. I'd like to just potentially confuse you a tiny bit more as well Now I'm purchasing some parts for sharper steering feel, and better road handling (with perhaps 3 track days a year), this at some point is going to involve coilovers. As mentioned, if you are going to spend around £1500 - I'd most likely go with the Bilstein B16's, their warranty is exceptionally good if you have issues (no quibble warranty if they fail, replaced no questions) or MeisterR GT1 which iirc is tailored to your needs (road/track/comfort). However, I'm not sure I can afford to do that now, so I'm more than likely going to go with MeisterR Zeta-R and hopefully plop it on their finance.
