How badly did you want a 350 before you bought it?
twobears replied to mouldie's topic in 350Z General
Ha ha, I think Zugara may be on to something there because my Zed winked at me from the forecourt as I drove past and I went in and bought it there and then! Love at first sight -
Oh dear, that sounds horrible Hope you get it sorted very soon and begin to feel better.

"Actually I saw a new RR yesterday and I immediately thought that the front looked like an evoque, so they may already be rolling that styling out over the rest of the range." You are right, that's pretty much what they are doing "Still not sure on the back of the evoque though, looks too much like a giant as sat on it!" I can completely see what you mean but it is growing on me! We came out of our hotel yesterday to find a couple looking into the windows of the Evoque and discussing its merits or rather demerits with each other. The chap said that he thought it was 'weird looking' which is fair enough until you realise that both him and his partner were sporting long, straggly black hair and their faces were covered in spikes I was a bit worried that they'd scratch the paint actually since they had long, pointed spikes sticking out of their chins. They scuttled off when we unlocked the car

Are you sure you really want a Zed? I have noticed many times that people who agonise over decisions, sometimes weighing up the tiniest, most insignificant details, never actually buy the thing they are researching so assiduously I am not saying that this is the case with you but it might save you a lot of time and head scratching if you are honest with yourself at this stage of proceedings -

I've had a new car (sometimes brand new, sometimes not) virtually every year for at least 7 years now so I am a somewhat casual car buyer I was driving past my local garage in a galleon-like P38 when an azure blue roadster caught my eye so I went in and did a deal there and then and the roadster was mine. Result! I have never loved a car so much -
Jetset, I take back my comment. I thought they were in Manchester We do go close by there but it's a different firm that I am visiting. Off to pack my bags now and getting excited despite the absolutely rubbish weather forecast

Yes, husband was so pleased to finally get it. It arrived on a massive two-tier transporter and we thought they'd take the hated BMW away but they didn't so we've now got that sitting around, covered in a thick layer of Saharan sand that no-one can be bothered to clean off the wretched thing.

Husband has waited 7 months for this one. He ordered it in November

"Would that be Abakhan ?" No, not even warm. Try again

Sarah, we've got three blues now as daughter's car is metallic baby blue I must line them all up for a photo shoot We're off to our usual haunt, Portmeirion. We pass very near to our favourite garment supplier. Don't know how far away you are from there? I'll give you a wave if I see you and Mr Zebedee Vik, spacers and lowering He's already got a factory-fitted tow bar added at my request but I don't think he'd dare do anything else in case he gets the sack

The awful thing is that I actually feed them from an old, washed-out tub of Waitrose poultry gravy Fortunately, they can't read! Wasso, I like it in white too but this blue is ok I think. I chose it so I have to like it I would prefer it in white though and I never thought I'd say that ...

I dare you to come here and mention gravy in front of George and Hattie. They'll have your leg off

It was delivered on Friday and, even though it is my husband's company car, I've been driving round in it all weekend and I like it a lot. We're off to North Wales tomorrow for a few days and although I really wanted to go through those lovely tunnels at Penmaenmawr in Mr Z, I'm quite happy to go in the Evoque as it is very comfortable and smells divine due to having leather everywhere you can possibly stick a bit of leather Here it is, along with a gratuitous photo of my geese who came out to see what I was doing with a camera

Your brother's cute and he looks much nicer with both buttons done up. If you only do one up it may appear that you have short term memory loss problems

Please don't come to East Yorkshire Sharaz350z I live on a two mile lane but I would hate to think that you were driving past at 165 mph as one of my cats was crossing the lane

I'm not so far from Hull and my husband had just paid to have his car valeted when the sandstorm struck overnight Black cars and a liberal sprinkling of sand really don't go together. The Evoque arrived from Reading today and that had sand on too, albeit a much lighter sprinkling.

350z Engine bay bolts now in Blue and Red !!!!
twobears replied to Tarmac@TarmacSportz's topic in Tarmac Sportz
I would post my blue engine bolt pics but my engine bay is nowhere near as clean as glrnet's and I don't (yet) have fancy blue hoses -
Alex, please can you PM me the same info? I'm going away for a few days and then the roof issues are supposed to be being sorted before I think about the clutch but I would like to know how much I am looking at for the bits. Thank you
-
Thanks Will and Ekona I'm decided to go up to the garage again in the morning to see if I can get things sorted out satisfactorily and at the least possible cost to me. I've had a few problems with the car and had been starting to feel a bit ground down by it all and wondering if I should just put my head in the sand but I feel ready to do battle again tomorrow!

I've got a smallish rip on one side of the roof of my roadster (please see photos attached of ripped and non ripped sides) that's leading to a lot of wind noise in the cabin and which is only, I assume, going to get worse with time. There are patches on both sides of the roof which I am guessing are not normally there? The patches keep coming unstuck. I have taken the car back to the dealership twice and they have replaced the roof seal because I had water coming in through the driver's window and they have also stuck down the patches, to no avail. Every time I put the roof down the patches come unstuck immediately. I have been back to the garage again this week and they shrugged their shoulders and said that there was nothing that they could do. Obviously, I wasn't happy with that and they have since offered to replace the roof at a cost of £1,100 They said that they would pay half the cost themselves. I really don't know what to do. It is still an awful lot of money. The car is still (just) under warranty. What will a new roof consist of? Just the fabric? I am fed up of talking to the dealership so I thought I would ask you knowledgeable folk for your thoughts. I don't want to pay for a new roof and find that it falls apart the first time I put it down but, equally, the ripped bit and patches looks horrible. Any ideas please?

Does anyone work in the automotive industry?

SMD, nooooooooooo -
But I like all the nice people on the forum. Don't make them go away Builder. Wasso has been especially lovely of late and actually wrote me an entire essay yesterday to explain something that everyone else doubtless knows already, so definitely a gold star for him
-
Wasso, I didn't think they'd replace it under warranty, more that I was going there anyway but I could try the old fluttering eyelashes trick just on the off chance If the eyelashes thing fails (as I fear it almost certainly will) I'll ask the chap who normally does my car if he can get the battery for me then. Thanks for the advice. I have never really cared much about any of my other cars and let my husband deal with any issues but this one is special and I want to learn what to do when things go wrong
-
Thank you. My next question has to be ... do I get the battery from Nissan or elsewhere? My car is still under warranty and the roof is still playing up so I am going back to the garage soon anyway
-
I just noticed that my driver's door was slightly ajar so I tried to open it but everything is completely dead so I am guessing that I have flattened the battery for the second time? The first time I did it was when I was cleaning and I put the roof down without properly starting the car. Should batteries go flat this easily or do I need a new one? Don't all shout at me for being stupid please
