  1. So are you and Builder49 engaged now Dave? That's his normal M.O. when he likes someone I believe
  2. I've been out all day and got back to find my husband cleaning Mr Zedbelly I did wonder if he'd been having a sneaky drive but he denies everything The question is, should I believe him? I can't remember the mileage or how much petrol I had so I have no clues other than his slightly guilty smile when I saw him leaning over the bonnet with a drying cloth in his hand. So, do I reward or punish him?
  3. Ssssh, I'm not allowed in the shaving thread
  4. Mm, yes, silver tip badger is the softest, rarest and most expensive badger hair of all Any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask me as I am now the acknowledged forum expert ... or do I just have a brochure here from which I am reading? Who knows?
  5. They are edible? I found one at the side of the road the other week. I didn't immediately think of casseroling the thing though
  6. Thank you No idea why 'shaving brush stand man' couldn't have told me that? Maybe he thought I was an 'anti' in disguise? Although do they wear floaty white skirts and high heels? Surely they don't even own any clothes other than muddy combat trousers, boots and parkas??? Ekona, I'm a woman and have definitely not got a beard or even an incipient moustache (thankfully ) but even I know that badger hair shaving brushes have been around for years. My father had one when I was a child and that's a fair while back Apparently, you can get standard badger, super badger, finest badger or supreme silver tipped badger if you want to be really fancy
  7. I was at a trade fair today and visited a stand selling very lovely shaving equipment, including badger hair shaving brushes. I suddenly had to know how the manufacturers had obtained the badger hair I asked someone on the stand but he just kept giggling and wouldn't tell me so I said that in that case I had to presume that he went out in the dead of night murdering badgers but, seriously, does anyone know where it comes from? I assume that badgers have to be harmed in the making of the product so, if the ruling turns out to be in favour of the proposed large scale badger cull, will we end up with bales of badger pelts all over the place and more shaving brushes than the good men of our nation know what to do with?
  8. Thanks again Will I wasn't actually expecting any more advice from you as you've already been very helpful but what you have said makes sense. It is probably as I thought and the garage that I've been dealing with knows more about the cars it sells in the greatest quantities rather than performance vehicles
  9. You could well be right Hugh. They don't seem very clued up about 350Zs but I assumed that they would be more at ease with the Micras and Notes? Who knows? Vik, I've spoken to so many people now that I can't quite remember who is who I have definitely spoken to someone called Pete in the body shop about the roof issues but I think that the message regarding the clutch was relayed to me via a front desk person. I hadn't thought of going directly to Nissan HQ. I will see if Tim Leighton will do anything to help and then see if I can escalate it to their HQ. Thanks
  10. Thanks Colin. Will is always nice and helpful and I'm glad that he has had a good result
  11. I've posted before about both issues so sorry for boring you all again but I need some more help please Looking at my paperwork my warranty is called Premium Care 3-7 80K and it runs out in September so I would like to get as much work done under warranty as I can. I'm not having a lot of luck so far mind you. My roof leaked and was ripped a little on the driver's side. Nissan have replaced the roof seal and glued down the patches that were covering the ripped area. I've not actually driven the car in the rain since so I am not sure if the roof still leaks or not but I appreciate that Nissan have done their best with that particular issue. Unfortunately, the rip repair was completely unsuccessful and the patch came unglued on the five mile drive back from the dealership The garage agreed to replace the entire roof if I contributed half the cost. I agreed to pay £600 and the car was duly booked in. When I turned up, however, the dealership denied all knowledge and asked me what I was doing there Given that they had 'phoned to book the car in and sent me a text to confirm the booking I was a bit cross. A couple of days later they rang me to say that they could book me in again in a fortnight's time to have the roof replaced but that it would be an aftermarket roof rather than Nissan. I told them not to bother as I wanted my car to remain a Nissan through and through and what guarantee would I have that an aftermarket roof would even fit? The other problem is that the clutch biting point becomes extremely low after I have driven for any length of time but then recovers once the car cools down. The dealership explained in an extremely patronising fashion that I was either a) imagining the problem or had got my driver's side mat on top of my clutch pedal They refused to do anything because they had not witnessed a problem. Forum members have explained the true nature of the problem to me and I know where to get the parts I recently spoke to the salesman who sold me the car and he advised me to go to another garage to get the problems fixed. He seemed to think that some of the work should be done under warranty even if I took the car to another garage. Does that sound right? And, if so, did he mean that I needed to take it to another Nissan dealership? I thought I would get as much information as I could and then ring the owner of the garage to try to sort things out. I am not expecting Nissan to replace consumables etc under warranty but I was hoping for a bit better service than I have so far received.
  12. Can someone help me get Dave into his special jacket please? The one where his arms don't move very much
  13. Well Dave, I think we'll all be singing that one this Christmas
  14. Aaaaw, let's hope they find out what's wrong soon and start getting you better
  15. Wow at your engine bay If I ever run out of clean plates I'll ask if I can borrow it to eat my dinner off
  16. "Am I the only one that talks to my Zed?" Definitely not Sarah My Mac, PC, iPhone and iPad all have Mr Zedbelly screensavers and, yes, a pat on his lovely bottom is not unknown when putting him to bed at night is not unknown either. You lot have made me feel so much better you know!!
  17. My macro lens is a "Tamron for Nikon" 70-300mm and I've no complaints My camera is a Nikon D3100 rather than a Canon though.
  18. In the vain hope of getting this thread back on track .. 14. (not sure how we got to 14 ) Taking 15 minutes longer to park than anyone else because you are looking for the absolute 'best' spot and not caring that you then have a mile and a half trek to the shops from your safe but extremely distant corner of the car park
  19. "I think the 2 of us have the most severe strain of the disease, his has manifested itself in all things silver, blue & smurf like, mine has gone down a slightly darker route with carbon fibre, cross dressing and potatoes" Hm, given how far things have progressed I think that even if I could resurrect Freud himself I doubt either of you could be helped
  20. Dave, have you ever thought of 'seeing somebody' for your Zed related issues? Is there a business opportunity here for someone thinking of setting up a Priory type clinic for Zeditis suffers?
  21. "9. you are on a Zed forum at silly o'clock on a Sunday morning"
  22. "5. You won't even let your other half drive your Zed" Mm, I can relate to that one
  23. 3. You have a mental list of friends whom you can't vist because their parking arrangements aren't up to scratch
  24. 1. You realise you've spent more on 'gifts' for your car in the last week than on presents for your partner, even though it was their birthday yesterday
