Has anyone read Slash's autobiography? I think it was the first time I've seen my husband read a book that wasn't about programming/science/management theories

I would love to see Metallica I had the chance a few years back but I couldn't make it and I have regretted it ever since. I love some of their songs, although James Hetfield seems really scary for some reason. In my Zed (when he's on the road) I love playing Skindred's 'Union Black'. Great driving songs

Where do I stand if the garage has messed up my car?

rabbitstew, that sounds horrendous!!!! You got a better result with the Roadster roof than I have so far though. I would have been happy with my new roof, even though they did it without my consent, if it had worked. R4ELeather, I am not out of pocket so far because the garage have done all the work (and caused all the damage) without charging me. I have been without a car for weeks on end but it's not my main car so that doesn't really matter. Sometimes they have offered me a courtesy car but, unlike rabbitstew, I was given a Note which I absolutely hated -
Are you going to Download this year?

Video cheered me up. What does it matter if she's 19 and he's 52 if she really, really loves him

Thanks Will I am going to continue to fight them but need to take a breather for today. In hindsight I should have taken the car elsewhere as soon as I realised the extent of their incompetence but I can't change that now -

Thanks Neil. I will get my husband to help when he gets home. He works in the automotive industry and is a lot better than me at kicking arse! I am feeling too fed up to do anything else about it today so I am going back to work now -
I know that really but I am just feeling sad now because I haven't got a card (and I am fed up today anyway because the Nissan dealer is messing me around) I did get the lovely shoes and I know that he loves me but a card would be nice too. I am being pretty hypocritical though because I didn't get him one either

I haven't got a great deal of paperwork to prove anything though The service manager says that he thinks the dealership should pay for the work but he probably would say that to me wouldn't he? His boss says that they won't pay anything though and I can't get to speak to the garage owner because he just ignores me. I'm not sure how I can prove that the work they did was unauthorised? I didn't sign anything to say that they could do it but that means that I have no proof of anything. They have admitted liability in my opinion by fixing the gouged paintwork free of charge (since they caused that damage) and I have taken the car back many times since for them to look at, again at no cost. I seem to be failing at the final hurdle though and really can't see how I can prove anything in court -
I am starting to feel sad that I didn't get a card now since so many of you lot have had one My husband is at work so maybe he will arrive home tonight with a card and armfuls of flowers? Well, I can always hope

I've had ongoing roof issues for months now and I took my car ('06 Roadster) back to the Nissan dealership for repair a few weeks after buying it from them. Unfortunately they caused a lot more damage by doing work to which I'd not consented and now my roof motors aren't working properly. The warranty period has expired because the garage have had my car in and out for weeks over a period of several months so they are trying to wash their hands of the whole thing but I don't see why I should be paying to put right damage that they and they alone, have caused. I am in talks with Nissan HQ but am feeling pretty hacked off with the whole thing and about ready to shout at someone. Any ideas other than naming and shaming Brian Leighton's garage in Howden, East Yorkshire and advising everyone to give them a wide berth? I also bought a Freelander commercial from them and that rapidly developed major and very expensive problems so I sold it. A friend has had problems with her 4x4 that she got from them and, obviously, I am never going near the place again but I want to try to make them put the damage right that they have caused to my car.

The woodwork actually was yellow Pic was taken in hotel. Bottom of shoes are bright yellow so woodwork a sort of lemon colour. Not really my taste either! Love the Tesco Value card

I hope I've posted this in the right section? Basically, my roof had a couple of rips in it ('06 Roadster) so I took it back to the dealer for repair but they somehow ended up putting an entirely new roof on, without my permission Doesn't sound too bad until you realise that when I collected the car, drove out of the dealership a few hundred yards, parked and tried putting roof down, got showered with bits of metal, the roof wouldn't go down properly (or back up) and they had managed to gouge three large chunks of paint out of the back of the car, one of which was so bad that it was down to bare metal I have been in dispute with them ever since and taken the car back umpteen times. I have just been away for a week so I agreed to let them keep the car whilst I was away because although they had fixed the paintwork the roof has never been satisfactorily fixed and doesn't fold away properly the first time you attempt the operation. It often works the second time but something is clearly wrong and the boot seems out of alignment. So, after having my car for just over a week (not counting all the other weeks they have kept it previously) they still haven't fixed it and I am getting pretty fed up. Has anyone ever had a problem like this? They are suggesting that it is a problem with the roof motors and are debating whether or not to fit new ones. Not sure how much these cost but no doubt they will be expensive so I hope to get it done under warranty but wonder if I am being stupid letting this dealership do any more work on my car considering how much damage they have caused so far? I have e mailed Nissan HQ to get their opinion on the situation. I haven't got the money to spare to pay for the work to be done elsewhere which would be my preferred choice.

Actually I think I will post a pic of my shoes because I really love them. Sorry that it's not a car pic but my Zed is in the garage .... again....

I hope you didn't get half a different machine each and are now desperately trying to weld them together!!!

I didn't Not really bothered though because my husband had bought me the wacky, tweed high heels that I coveted in Macy's I would post a pic but there aren't enough women here to admire them (or hate them because they are rather odd as shoes go ). So, what did everyone else get? Or buy for their partner?

It's a difficult question because there undoubtedly are racist/homophobic etc people out there but to accuse everyone who disagrees with your point of view of being bigoted etc is counterproductive as it lets the 'real villains' off scot free. Er, is my comment racist against Scottish people? I'm getting paranoid now -

I am pondering what colour duvet cover I would have for the bed in the red truck. I expect I am impressing everyone with my in depth technical knowledge, no?
