  1. Thanks for that Tarmac I do prefer to buy British but I haven't had much luck sourcing baby shoes in this country so far. I know exactly what I want and the only place I have seen them is China, apart from one manufacturer in Argentina whose quality I wasn't happy with when I got the sample shoes.
  2. Ekona, no, I don't really want to write the blog but my husband seems to think that it would be a good idea because other websites all seem to have blogs Naturally, I find myself endlessly entertaining but, like I said, I suspect that I am not to blogging what the wonderfully witty Mr Wilde would have been were he still alive
  3. No offence taken apart from being called Mumsnet 'cos I bloomin' well detest that site I think I am good at the random crap stuff though, so thanks for that
  4. My husband keeps saying that I should write a blog to go on one of my retail websites but I am resisting because I don't honestly know if I can actually write Obviously I can type words and I know that sentences start with a capital letter and often end with a full stop (although other punctuation marks are available ) but I have little faith that anything I write will be worth reading. I'm not sure if I should just launch into it and hope for the best e.g. that I turn out to be the next Oscar Wilde (unlikely) or keep dragging my heels and hope that he forgets all about it?
  5. flexib, I am not fully au fait with the letter of credit thingummy but I definitely have to spend a fair amount to meet the manufacturers' minimum order requirements. That's the same in this country as well though. I had some baby clothes made in a factory in Coventry and had to buy a lot of baby gros It's not too bad in one way because you get things for the right price and although the initial outlay is a bit eye-watering at least you have plenty of stock for the next year or so
  6. Ok, BBK, thanks for that. I think I am finally starting to understand what you mean. I've no idea what a Croydon accent sounds like mind you
  7. Thank you Got to admit, I would find a sponsored silence a bit of a challenge
  8. Is there a quicker way to delete all my messages than clicking on them individually? If not I will get clicking now because I had nearly 300. Oops, I have never thought of clearing them out before
  9. Not yet but I will be getting samples when I decide which styles I want to see. I am just worried that the samples will be better made than the actual goods in my order so I would be happier if someone on the ground could inspect them for me as they are being made and before they are shipped.
  10. Thanks Will. Look forward to hearing from you later rtbiscuit, nice to hear that you had good experiences both times. I have been emailing both companies that I am considering using but I am still very unsure because I like to know what I am doing and it worries me when I don't
  11. Does anyone have experience of importing goods from Chinese factories? I have thought about doing this for a couple of years but never managed to pluck up the courage because I don't want to be ripped off and there are, obviously, a lot of scammers out there just as there are in so many other areas of life. I believe that you can get people to inspect the goods before they are loaded onto the ship and at other stages along the way but I feel very unsure of the whole process and would love to hear from someone who really understands it. Please message me if you can help. Thank you
  12. Fauré, he's not had much in the charts recently:)
  13. I bet no-one else listened to my last bit of driving music - Fauré's Requiem
  14. ATTAK Z, that wall and piece of road look as clean and lovely as your car! Did you give them a good wash too?
  15. Bounty, I thought that your name, which you have obviously embraced, was an insult? What does it actually mean?
  16. 4G has longer range though? My problem is distance from the exchange.
  17. I would like to remain out in the wilds AND have a decent Internet connection though. I am pinning my hopes on 4G because I can't see anything else ever coming out here since we have no gas or even mains drainage. My friend recently returned from a third world country and was getting a far better signal than we get at home, even when he was away from the towns.
  18. Much the same for most of us, the parking bit Really, I thought I was just being a big girl about it I just can't bear the thought of something happening to him and I feel that he's even more vulnerable with being a Roadster. dgrooky, do you mean opening the roof at low temps can cause damage? Mine is out under his shelter in all weathers and the fabric of his roof seems fine, although it has recently been replaced.
  19. 4RE Leather, how did you get all that work done on the interior? Did you do it yourself?
  20. Er, I think I'll be ok but thank you for the kind offer
