  1. The murder mystery weekend sounds right up my street! I love crime novels. Will investigate that one a bit further for future reference. Don't think my husband likes heights so the Go Ape one may be a non-starter and I can drive a massive digger, tractor, load all or even pea viner if I ask my farmer friend nicely. I had a load all in my garden yesterday actually and I hopped up into the cab but chickened out of reversing it as I quite like all my gates, fences, plants etc
  2. Hm, loving some of the more 'off the wall' suggestions. Can you get day trips to Angola? Definitely liking the sound of the Cotswolds as I've not been there for ages
  3. Thanks everyone! Will have fun looking up some of these suggestions tonight I think I could get used to spending other people's money
  4. Cornwall is beautiful but too far for a night or two, unfortunately Squee start running, NOW
  5. I do like Edinburgh a lot but I'm really after something countryside activity based for this particular trip. Maybe an S & M dungeon in Liverpool would be fun, if SMD and Squee want to give further advice on that one?
  6. AK350z, I can't get that link to work properly for some reason. I want to look at the rallying section but it won't let me
  7. I know I am weird but I am not all that keen on the Lake District. Sorry to anyone who lives there Objectively, I can see that it's beautiful but I've never had a good holiday there for some reason. Wales is always good but I need somewhere interesting to stay. I go most years but stay in the same place and I need to break out of my comfort zone (not literally as I hate the very idea of camping or otherwise roughing it).
  8. Good point SMD. I am happy to go away for two nights to make it worthwhile travelling. Husband's firm were treating us to a night at a spa hotel but no-one could ever synchronise their diaries so that we all arrived on the same night and they have now decided to give us the cash instead to spend as we want. I didn't really want to go to the spa thingy and chat with the other company wives so this option is far better but I feel flummoxed now that I have to decide where to go. Husband is (kindly?) leaving it to me to make the decision and I want to make it a good one.
  9. Has anyone got any ideas for a night away for two people in the UK? We prefer doing something interesting rather than just mooching around, although a bit of shopping is always good 'cos I'm a woman I went to Millbrook a couple of weeks ago and would go back like a shot but I need to think of something that we can both do and my husband only likes his Land Rovers so Millbrook holds no appeal for him as it's not muddy enough We both enjoy doing stuff like quad-biking, clay pigeon shooting, 4x4 driving etc but would like to go somewhere that we've not been to before. Any recommendations would be great please
  10. What is this Radio 1 of which you speak? I seem to remember listening to it by accident once when I was in the hairdressers. I swapped hairdressers shortly afterwards
  11. Dear Builder49, I think I preferred you when you said nice things Best wishes, TwoBears
  12. Oh, I hope that a quick change of fluid is all that is needed. I have given him some welly recently so maybe I've 'overcooked' him a bit Will, the parts are on order for the roof. Will find out more when I go back on Monday as I stupidly forgot to ask exactly what they were proposing to do as I was rushing around like a madwoman as usual
  13. Alex, yes, I know the drill I'm still up to my eyeballs project managing my build/renovation today, not to mention painting (my hair mostly!) in the new workshop but once I've had chance to phone the garage and get booked in I will let you know if I need your services once more Got to say that I am keeping my fingers crossed that the issue is more of a minor than a major one.
  14. Thank you both It is definitely heat related in some way as it only does it on longer journeys and/or when I've been driving for a while in a somewhat lively manner.
  15. I finished it a couple of weeks ago and I feel strangely bereft
  16. Oh dear, that is what I thought the problem might be He's on 53,000.
  17. Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place. I have got a problem with my clutch pedal. It is not coming back up very far after I depress it. I can get my toe under it (when stationary) and pull it up to its correct position but when I'm driving it sometimes stays about halfway down. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I suppose it could just be that I have overheated it but should it really be doing this? I am going to ring the dealer this afternoon but I thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas so that I'd be better informed before speaking to the garage.
  18. Thanks bronzee. I am new to all this so all information is most welcome
  19. In the words of the wonderful Mrs Doyle, "Aw g'wan" Alternatively, buy a house in Yorkshire. Sometimes I amaze myself with my wonderful, practical advice
  20. I wasn't looking. Honest! SMD, I need you and Mary to come to Harewood so I can meet you (oh, and bring your little Spud-like friend too). You make me laugh so much ... in a good way
  21. RUN FOR THE HILLS Twobears ....ruuuuuuuuuuun It's ok. I can run faster than Builder49. His tool belt weighs him down
