I posted recently about my clutch problem, whereby the clutch remains depressed when it hots up e.g. after a nice, lively drive. I can get it back to its normal, admittedly high, position by hoicking it up with my toe but that's not exactly satisfactory when you are driving I took it back to the dealer yesterday but they rang me tonight to say that they can't help because they can't replicate the problem. I told them that it only occurred after a longer drive/giving the car a few revs but that everything seems normal when the car is cold or driven conservatively in 30 mph areas.
I've had some very helpful suggestions to my original post and I believe that, at the very least, the clutch fluid needs replacing but how do I convince the dealership that I am not a stupid woman? They had the nerve to suggest that my floor mat might have got rucked up underneath the clutch pedal and that is what is causing the problem I don't think so since a) the mat isn't rucked up and how on earth could it prevent the clutch pedal from coming up if it was? Down, yes, but up, no way unless the mat had wound itself up and over the pedal and, silly, fluffy-headed little me hadn't noticed I think not.
All they can suggest is that I drop the car back into the dealership if it happens again and I happen to be passing. Any ideas please? I am going to go for a drive tonight (when dealership is closed, obviously) to see if it happens again like it has the last couple of times I've driven it and then make a note of how long it takes to happen and drive the same distance tomorrow morning but making sure that I end up at the garage.
