  1. Hello Gaz the floater I'm local to you (in Kidderminster) and travel through Hagley on my daily commute. I should be easy to spot as my car looks exactly the same as yours (apart from a Nismo splitter).
  2. Hi All, I've just got me a used set of 19 inch wheels and tyres courtesy of a forum member and just had a couple of queries regarding offset and spacers. The front are ET20 and the rear are ET40. I have a set of 20/25mm spacers and I figure if I fit the 20mm to the rear 19's and do not fit any to the front, this will give me ET20 all round. Tyre sizes for ref are: F 235/35-19 and R 275/30-19. Thecar is currently running standard shocks and needs hitting with the lowering stick, but this will be done with the 17mm/15mm Tein springs, but not for a while. My question really is, how will it look (offset wise) with the 19's and an ET20 all round? I could always put the 25mm on the rear to give it ET20 front, ET15 rear if that's better (if my understanding of offsets is correct)? Cheers, Ian
  3. Absolutely gutted (especially after seeing the latest attendee list above). Booked a summer break with the other half, incl flights and everything else and all is rosie. Her in doors is happy as she's managed to talk me into another summer holiday (I prefer mountains and snow - just not in the Zed). Life is good. Then BAM!! The "Oh sh*t" moment hits. I'll be away for The Wales Weekender. So guys but I can't make it. I'd not had my Zed long when I popped along last year, so this was all a bit new to me and my totally standard car. Was really looking forward putting faces to names that I am now more familiar with. Oh f-f-flippin' eck
  4. Hope all gets sorted a smoothly and swiftly as poss mate.
  5. Might be worth checking your carpets/mats in the footwells. With all the recent show we've had, some of it will no doubt get transferred from your shoes to the mats, which will make them damp. Having a damp rug often results in steamy windows..... (Ooer).
  6. Looking good Heff. Here's a link I found that may help with regards removing the 3 dials in the centre console: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/50728-removing-dials-to-wrap-center-of-the-dash/ Just a query - what's the black sticky plaster looking sticker on the front bumper?
  7. I got a very short carbon stubby one off eBay. Looks great, but as an aerial, it's pants As ninja said, depending where I was, changed the stations I could hear. The only station I could get all the time was Radio 1.
  8. Hello and Adam. Whereabouts in the midlands are you?
  9. Sh*t. My journey home is mostly M42 and then I need to get back on it in the early hours.
  10. Well I made it to work OK this morning, few slidey moments, but nothing major. Just need to make it home later. And then I need to get to Birmingham Airport for 4am as I have a flight sceduled to leave at 6am to take me to more snow
  11. Only 349 to go and he gets a free one! Bob
  12. Hello and Ross Here's the CD009 gearbox ad: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/59821-cd009-gearbox-only-12000km/
  13. It's been said before, but to the world of the Zed Stu. This isn't my first motoring forum I've found. I was first introduced to forums like this with my previous car (Audi TT). I found it as I seemed to be constantly looking on google to find out what the latest issue with my car was (there were many). The forum community became part of the ownership experience. Before buying a Zed, I did consider what the owners forum was like, should I need help and support. Like you, I asked a few newbie questions before I found and bought mine and did a lot of reading about the car I knew I wanted. I've not had my car a year yet, but I have already learnt a lot about it from everyone on here. This forum definitely adds to the experience of owning the car and will mean I will be keeping it a lot longer than any of my other previous cars. Get your car mate, the right one for you (it's out there) then get yourself along to a meet or few. Oh and one more thing, be prepared for the onset of Zeditis - it's inevitable
  14. Tarmac's Nismo ones come in black
  15. With no NCB I don't think £800 is a bad quote. Obviously I don't know your personal circumstances, where you live, occupation etc, so asking 'which insurance broker is best for a Zed' is an open ended question based on everyone's personal experience. At least you've got an idea now and have a figure in mind to include in your budget. There are a few affiliated club insurers that are always worth contacting and going old skool on the telephone often returns favourable results. But with a budget of £8k, allowing £1k for insurance, leaving you circa £7k in your sky rocket would certainly find you a decent car. Look in the Zeds for sale section on here for starters I'd certainly spend some time browsing the forum to learn as much about the car as poss beforehand.
  16. Personally I'd go for the GT with higher miles. Mine is an 04 and had 81k when I bought it, it had been looked after and the engines are strong. I wouldn't make the mileage a deciding factor as long as the car has been cared for and there's a well documented history. As said before, you have a good Zed budget. Regarding insurance, my first port of call would be the comparrison sites to give you an idea of what premium to expect - you'll then know how much you've got to spend on a car. But, with your budget, not only would you get a GT pack, you'd also get a car with the upgraded Rays wheels (which neither of the above have).
  17. Hello and £8k will buy you a nice UK car. Also, have a read here for plenty of useful info: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/22880-guide-for-new-memberspotential-buyers/
  18. Welcome to the forum. Don't just buy the first car you spot that you can afford. As others have said, if you're patient, a better spec'd car will turn up for your budget. But in the meantime, keep saving and read this: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/22880-guide-for-new-memberspotential-buyers/
