  1. That will defiantly remove the sticker, and you get rear quarter vents for free! I'll have nowhere to put my new sticker though
  2. Cheers guys. Few useful suggestions there
  3. Hi All, Bit of a stoopid 'how to' question, but thought I'd ask anyway in case anyone has any tips. I want to remove the round 'security' sticker that's on the outside of small the window behind the drivers door (behind your right shoulder when sat in the car), so I can display my 350Z-UK.com sticker in this space. It's stuck on with what appears to be industrial strength super glue. Anyone got any tips on how to remove stubborn decals? Will heat or anything else help? Cheers, Ian
  4. Ahh ok James, sorry. It does sound like a sensor issue, but search is your friend here. (Sorry, using my phone ATM). Yes, it's the belts that are facing you when you open the bonnet. Here ya go... http://www.350z-tech.com/wiki/index.php?title=Drive_and_Accessory_Belt_Replacement http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/15848-how-to-change-the-aux-drive-belts/
  5. Congrats on your purchase. Good year and colour! Lol. Yes I'd get the airbag light checked. Sounds like it may of been caused with the steering wheel change. There are 2 auxiliary belts that are about £30 for the pair and are an easy DIY job to change. Plenty of guides on here and online. If its rece tly had the two belts fitted, they (or just one) may need adjusting slightly. Have you tried turning the light off? The 2 can be turned on and off independently and it might just be the passenger one is in the on position. Give it a push upwards.
  6. If you go to the DVLA website you can search for plates. Almost every other plate that has N15 *MO (apart from N15 SMO) is available and at a cost of £250 all in (incl transfer etc). The fact that most are still available gives you an indication of how desirable it is (or not). I'd hold onto it in case you do get your GT-R.
  7. I call bullshiit! Pics or it never happened! Eh......so 4 tyres is perfectly realistic but 4 tyres wrapped around wheels is bullshit? Easily explainable why 4 tyres is easier to believe than 4 wheels and tyres. Obviously the tyres alone wouldn't have any air in them, but the tyres fitted to wheels were more than likely still inflated.
  8. Very festive this, but I've had a real 6ft Christmas tree in mine Addmittedly it was dead, with all the branches sawn off and cut up into Zed friendly pieces.
  9. Congrats on your new purchase! Great colour choice.... The next week will be a drag, but it'll give you time to prepare for all the grinning you're gonna do once you've picked her up. Don't forget to show us some pics! Welcome to the club.
  10. Apologies if this is common knowledge and a 'grandma suck eggs' comment, but it was something I hadn't considered, but thought 'great idea' when I read it :- When claying, place an old sheet or similar on the floor below the panel you're working on, because if you drop the clay bar (especially on your gravel drive), it'll be virtually useless.
  11. The 2 inches of travel does seem very short, especially with a car that's known for it's high biting point. Took me a while to get used to mine and hill starts were sometimes a bit cagey (Ask Brillomaster). As mentioneid before, there are many threads about the subject, and it may be that a previous owner has done one of the clutch pedal adjustments possible. If you can post a link to the car you're interested in, it may be known on here and/or be a former forum member's. Certainly drive a few if you can though, so you have something to compare each with. Oh, welcome to the forum and good luck with your search
  12. What happens if the bottle of water freezes?
  13. I think the Americans called the GM colour Silverstone grey. I'm sure I've seen it listed as that somewhere. Or just imagined it. Be it Gunmetal Grey or Silverstone Grey - It's still the fastest / best / nicest / coolest colour
  14. The forum! And the fact that I still have to take one last look over my shoulder before it goes out of sight whenever I leave it. "That's MINE that is" (Contented smug feeling).
  15. Winter/snow driving has never really bothered me, I just apply the 'drive smoothly and carefully' approach mentioned above. I've had RWD cars before (a few BMW's) and have survived without incident. However this year (my first winter with the Zed) I've decided to give winter tyres a go, as I want to ensure I'm doing as much as possible to keep my car in one piece. I'm currently running the standard 18's and have picked up a set of part worn winter tyres (225/45 and 245/45) for a total of £175 with >5mm of tread. Yes, I know this can start the whole 'used/part worn tyre debate, but I thought it would be a way I get to try out winter tyres. It may be a bit of a placebo effect, but they do certainly feel sure footed at the moment. OK, I've not experienced snow yet, but in the recent zero degree slippy/greasy conditions, I tried to get the rear to step out a little in places where I knew it would with summer rubber, and the car held firm. We'll see how long they last (were fitted at the weekend). I do about 1000 miles a month, so figure they'll get me through till I need to change back over.
  16. Breath taking. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Well, after buying Martin's 19's and then also just buying a set of 4 winter tyres for my current wheels, so I don't bugger my new wheels up over the next few months, the "can't afford much else" category is one I fall into! Can you point me in the direction of rtbiscuit's thread please mate?
  18. Hi All, Been starting to look at sound bars, to 'enhance my TV viewing experience'. If you believe the hype, it seems that having one of these slim bars below your TV can replace the 4 satellite and subwoofer surround sound speakers. Can it? I don't currently have any kind of home cinema sound set up, so this seems a good option as I won't have to trail speaker cable around the living room. Has anyone got, used or recommend a sound bar? I'm thinking of waiting for the sales to see if I can pick up a deal on one. Are they any good? Cheers, Ian
  19. I did the penny trick (put 2p in each). Sorted the problem out. Maybe just try it in the spring you haven't replaced?
  20. Couple of rubbish mobile phone pics I've found. I took them just before I removed the rack, so ignore the flappy straps. Gives an idea how it fits.. Just make sure your boot is clean before you fit it!
  21. I use the Halfords universal high level carrier. Sits on top of the boot and uses the number plate recess for support (only works if you've got a UK rear bumper). Will try take some pics this weekend.
  22. Hello and (a belated) welcome Deb. I've gotta ask.... (And I'm sorry to pull you away from the subject of Zebedee for a moment), but (as a biker) I'm interested to hear about your bike history? What have you had? What was your last one? It sounds like you've hung the leathers up?
  23. Martin, I'll have them mate. I freaking love this forum at times. Been looking in eBay for a few weeks now, but thought I'd just try on here and give it just one go, see what happens. Within a few hours I've sorted a much sexier set of wheels than any I'd seen and considered on eBay. Awesome. I'll drop you a PM Martin and sort things out with ya.
