  1. Out of interest, what diff oil do people recommend? Mine been getting progressively noisier / more noticeable, and I think it's in need of a change. Thanks, Grant
  2. Ok thanks - will give it a try tomorrow evening. It will be nice if it's not the solenoid.
  3. Hi all, The boot release on my 2004 350z has stopped working. I assume it could be a solenoid or something? When I open the release on the rear of the car, nothing happens. Occasionally I'll head the solenoid but it won't release the catch enough to lift the boot lid. When I pull the emergency release inside the car, the boot will uncatch but not enough to open the boot. Any thoughts on what could be going on? In terms of replacement parts - what should I go for? 'Many thanks, Grant
  4. I'm not selling the badge, the lad can have it as it'll just end up in the bin! Sent from my potato using duct tape Thanks Tuck, very happy to take it off your hands if it's just going spare? Sending you a PM.
  5. Any chance of a pic of the blitz spoiler on the car? Also, how does it attach, over the standard spoiler with tape?
  6. Wanted, original "350z" badge, as applied to the boot lid (left side). Unfortunately, after an incident with a drying towel, part of the 'z' on mine has snapped off! Thanks, Grant
  7. Brodit Pro clip is what you want
  8. Ok, so my elm327 mini dongle arrived today. Doesn't seem to work though from what I can tell. iPhone 5 can't discover it, and none of the two apps I have can connect - so I'm assuming its DOA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Well, the CEL wasn't illuminated until some 100 miles later the day after. I resetted the ECU using the peddle trick last night which cleared the CEL. It hasn't come back on again, so will take it back to Nissan if it does. This prompted me to buy one of those Bluetooth LE OBDII diagnostic readers, which you can pair with a smartphone or laptop. Anybody have any iOS OBDII app recommendations? Seems to be a fair few available, ranging from free to a few pounds.
  10. In addition to the stereo issues, my car displayed a check engine light on the way home. Are there any sensors that the mechanics are likely to have interfered with in swapping my brake pads and exhaust? Car seems to drive OK - I assume there isn't a way to DIY read the CEL codes without an OBDII reader?
  11. OK, so removing and re-inserting the stereo fuse has got it working again - strangely though the fuse hadn't blown. Cheers.
  12. Which fuse is it? Or is it well labelled? Not looked a them on this car before. Don't think they would have done any welding work, it was a simple off/on job with the standard OEM exhaust.
  13. Hi guys, My local Nissan garage replaced my rear and centre exhaust today (for a small fortune) and replaced my front and rear pads, however I've since noticed this evening that my stereo no longer works... Unfortunately I didn't have the stereo on during the journey to the garage, so don't know for certain whether its purely coincidental, or whether they may have done something wrong?! All other electrics in the car seem to be OK, and the stereo is illuminated with the rest of the dash, only not responding to any button presses. Has anybody else suffered a similar problem? Is there a fuse I should be checking? Is there any chance the garage will have disconnected anything before working on the car? Car is a 54' UK GT car, with standard Bose stereo. Unfortunately I can't ring them until Monday morning Cheers, Grant
  14. Quite a price difference between the Cobra and the Miltek, I don't think I can justify the extra for the Miltek. So it looks like the Cobra resonated system can be had for around £425, and the OEM system for around £535. Whilst the Cobra system sounds OK in the video's I've heard, it doesn't really give you a good indication what it will sound like in the cabin, in person. Any cobra owners out there comment on how loud it is, and does it drone at all? Nothing worse than drone/bass from an exhaust on cruise. Cheers.
  15. Well, my exhaust is blowing pretty badly due to corrosion around the flanges on both the mid and back section of the standard exhaust, so need to replace both sections pronto... However, I'm not too sure which exhaust to go for. The standard OEM item from Nissan is £5-600 for both sections, which aftermarket alternatives are there that look very similar to the OEM item and are quite quiet in sound? The car is completely standard, and I don't really have any interest in modifying it particularly, but could perhaps stretch to an aftermarket exhaust if it met my criteria in looks, sound and price. Let me know what you would recommend, car is a 54' plate UK GT. Cheers!
