  1. He ended the auction early, wasn't due to end until Friday I think so he must have got an offer somewhere. I bid £1.04 for them and at my last look about 3pm they were sitting at £11. Ref the drifting thing, I think he was pretty proud of it the way he mailed me and was laughing about it, must have money to burn if he can just wreck a £500 wheel and go out and buy a new set (don't know what type) to replace them, as he also told me.
  2. The GT4 will be basically a normal pre 06 facelift car but with the facelift 300ps (296 bhp) engine and a small plaque inside indicating the ltd edition number, this one being number 12 or 176. Out of those i'd go for the GT4, but with a budget of £10k you should be able to get a better car for a better price than those. The first one has pretty high mileage for the money and the last one is way over priced, £8k for an immaculate GT4 would be OK I guess, but i'd rather spend the extra to get the full 06 facelift with the upgraded interior, rear LED lights and facelift front BiXenons which in my opinion, make the car looks quite a bit better.
  3. I think his rears are just GTR's, so the lower the offset the more concave the rim is...

    Me and flexib

I'm surprised how well the OEM wheels look refurbed in a graphite type colour
  5. He also has a set of leather electric seats from the car for sale, starting at £400, not too bad looking either.
  6. I googled about after seeing these to see if they could be fixed, there were wheels that had to be almost completely chopped in 2 and TIG welded back together. My main concern after that bit of research would be where it would have to be welded at the rim. I contacted the seller to ask what happened, he was drifting around a roundabout trying to beat some kind of record which apparently stands at 46, he hit the curb at 42 because he got dizzy Sounds like a bit of a dick!
  7. Really, i'll have to get a spin on one to see what it's like, but I am a huge Italian Auto fan so I'm sure i'll put it down to "character" and love it
  8. Correct, it's a Nismo V1. Don't worry too much about being only 2 owners, one of those is probably a dealership.
  9. Contact Rollo at Orchard Car care, he's in your neck of the woods. For an example of prices I charge forum members on here I charge £180 f0r an inside and out detail using Swissvax/Zymol/Dodo products and its 6-8hrs work as detailed on my websites "what we can do" page. Best wishes Tim Thank's, their not too far away and some of their work looks very good, i'll have to go get a quote from them
  10. Try some fishing line or similar in behind the plate, should cut through the foamy tape stuff that it's probably stuck on with.
  11. "Bridgestone tyres (rear 275/35/19, front 215/30/19)" How does thatnot screw with the traction control?
  12. Greddy SE, that's just a back box and would suit your set up nicely. Scorpion are working on a system with rolled tips, that sounds great with the Ypipe and Berks. Might be a wait though It's a shame Scorpion can't just make their system with rolled tips. They have a good quality system but I just don't like the jap style slashed tips. That's what I'm saying Kyle. I suggested it earlier on in the year and they are working on it You'd think there would be no working to be done, just roll the freaking tips and send it out, it's not like it takes months of research to figure out how to roll a bit of stainless
  13. Have to say I wasnt impressed with my 748SPS at all. Previous owner paid nearly 12k for it new. I bought it when it was 2 months old and it only had 400 miles on the clock. The engine blew up at 600miles and went back to Ducati for them to fix (took them 3 months!)(a valve had dropped into the cylinder head destroying one head, piston & liner). I then did about 10,000 miles on it after then in 8 months (used it as my daily commuter). It took me ages to set the suspension up on it, as from the factory the back shock is set so hard the back end would slide out on roundabouts / bends. At first I thought maybe id hit some oil, but it was the shock setting. Once I set it up it was fine, but it never handled anywhere near as good as my ZXR750L2 did. Performance wise, I had it superchipped and terminini carbon cans on it, but it just didnt have enough power compared to 4 stoke 600`s. I never managed to get used to the low rev limit, and the v-twin lent itself to more relaxing "leave it in 6th gear" poodling about. The best thing about it was the sheer noise the engine made with those race cans. I sold it to a guy from Glasgow who hired a van and drove a 700 mile round trip to my house and bought the bike for cash without even riding it. I went out and bought a nearly new R1 and a VFR750 with the money & still had change. I did try a friends TL1000R a few times afterwards and found that much better powerwise as its a bigger engine - so maybe id have got on better with a 996 or something. 100% agree with the back end, it's set up for a heavier rider and with me being about 11.5 stone kitted up it was a bit stiff, but I couldn't be bothered changing it, I just learnt to dip in slower to corners and use the masses of torque to pull out of the bend like batman on a rocket! The top end power was always a let down on the V and L twins compared to I-4 600's, but now they've only gone a created the greatest license stealing death trap rocket I have ever known in the 1199 Panigale, 195 bhp on 165 kg Imagine that machine with a set of Termi's with race ECU
  14. If you only did the quote online, phone them up and try to get them to lower the quote, even tell them a wee fib or 2 about previous quotes from other companies if you have too. Also before calling, play around with your job title, change it to something else, you'd be surprised how much it will change, but don't change it so much that are completely lieing about it, i.e., IT - COE of a global corporation.
  15. You seem to have done a good bit of reading up and searching about the car, so you clearly have the best intentions for the car which is great to see. If someone mentioned a tonneau cover to most other new owners they wouldn't have a clue I understand where everyone, including yourself, is coming from regarding the servicing. You happen to be lucky in that you live in London, so you can go to Abbey, who are Zed specialists and will be much much more respected stamp in your book than any Nissan dealer, not to mention your car will be better looked after there and you won't get ripped off. I also agree with what you are saying about not knowing any specialists indies, which is normal when you first get a new car, but thats what forums like these are for, and now you do know one Also seeing an indy stamp is not better than a dealer stamp in my opinion, unless it's someone the likes of Abbey who know these cars better that the factory in which they were built. I on the other hand live across the water in N Ireland and still have no idea of a good indy for these cars, so my first service went to the local Nissan where my cousins fiancee works, so I got a very reasonable price and the car well looked after, but still i'd like a good indy to do engine mods etc in the future, as there are no known up-rev dealers on the island to the best of my knowledge
  16. From all the insurance threads i've read on here, Admiral seems to keep popping up as being the cheapest, but then you're only allowed 5 or 6 mods or something and they won't take FI.
  17. Most white LED's will have a slight blue hue to them, look out for ones about 6-8000k, the higher the bluer. As for the bulb itself, it's up to you, I have 44 LED's on each of mine, but they are quite long and were a real bar steward to get in, but very bright.
  19. Will 19x10 et20 fit the front without rubbing on the suspension arm? I know 19x9 et20 would be perfect, but thought 10 would be a bit much?
  20. Ducatis are (or always used to be) quite heavy. I remember getting off a zx6r onto a ducati 747SPS and that weighted a ton in comparison. You were also perched very high up, so getting knee down seemed to mean leaning over miles. HD for first bike can be done. The aforementioned ex neighbours of mine, that was there very first bike. He passed his test and they went out and bought a harley. They loved it, used to tour all over europe on it. Anything pre 916 series was pretty heavy in comparison to similar bikes, but since then they've made huge strides under the 200kg mark matching weight for weight with Yamaha etc, they also now tend to have a lower seating position by over an inch in comparison to the R6 for example. Best handling bikes i've ever ridden, but I think an amount of that is due to the L-twin engine
  21. I hope you have a big budget. Nismo Cat back exhaust will cost you about £1300 and HFC's about £400, Pop Charger should be able to to had for about £125. and CS and they should be able to help you out with prices
  22. I'll let you know how Dr Detail gets on if I choose to bite the bullet. Most of the things i'm looking for at the moment are being put into a big pile of "to do's" for when I win Euro Millions this week Either that of wait until i get it styled the way I want then hit it with a huuuuge detail. These fly by night cowboys will do until then
  23. Send a PM to CS on here regarding Black Diamond discs and pads, he's sure to give you a good price and they're working pretty well for those that have tried them out on here. Slightly better than OEM IMO.
