  1. I would be livid if this was me- I had my car broken into when I was 17 and chased after the theives, never caught them- probably a good thing that Best of luck!
  2. Very interesting, thanks for that. KInda tempted by the stillen intakes and HFCs/uprev given that I'm still not convinced by the overall aural impact running just a cobra exhaust and cosworth panels. Bit of an issue while the car's still under nissan warranty though oh and £1,700 odd quid as you say.... Sorry, the motordyne shockwave is £1700 (epic sound) The stillen gen 3 is £489/ berks £420 and uprev £400 (prices tarmac/ abbey). (Video in tarmacs exhaust thread: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/60920-tarmac-sportz-customer-exhaust-videos-thread/page__st__40#entry1451831)
  3. Love the cossie pics- that's gotta be worth 20bhp on its own! Yeah- it's difficult to work out what the gains in the nismo would be, and the mk1/2 nismo would probably be different too, so hard to judge/ research. The only plus point is that the prices are so strong second hand, if you change your mind you can always resell.
  4. Common sort of issue with the 370z. The clutch pedal can be adjusted (awkward but easy DIY) to raise/ adjust the bite point and therefore increase total level of disengagement. This will only work if the clutch is in good order. The expensive solution would be new clutch or synchros if the adjustment didn't work. Plenty of info/ how-to's on here and on 370.com.
  5. Great pics. After a lot of research both on the UK and US sites, the conclusion seems to be that the cats are the most restrictive part of the system, followed by the headers (which are a pain to replace and can held variable results anyway) followed by complex combinations of the pipes following the cats to the rear. A duel exhaust such as the Invidia Gemini works well, despite the pipes meeting at one point in an 'X' to largely improve the sound. The standard airboxes are meant to be very good (similar to the 350's) As far as intakes go, the takeda and stillen gen 3 long intakes yeild excellent gains and improve response (circa 10+hp) as they are placed outside the hot engine bay vs the shorter intakes which end up sucking in hot air and giving duller throttle responses in traffic where airflow is zero/ slow (just as with most cars). Overall, stillen gen 3's + berk high flow cats + invidia Gemini seem to massively improve sound, without excess 'raspiness' as well quickening throttle response. If you have cash to burn, the motordyne shockwave exhaust sounds epic- even with the standard cats (£1700). The lightweight flywheel options to improve response do seem to introduce noise+ 'chatter' below 2k revs making them less than ideal for daily driving. Those who had had them on the 350 and 370 also report thy don't have as much of an effect.....
  6. Just had this delivered from Torqen in super-quick time, this is the z1 stainless line from the U.S. with rave reviews over there, Z1 recommend using it with the Motul fluid (which is what I went for). Meant to improve feel of the clutch pedal/ bite point and prevent the pedal sinking to the floor (due to overheated fluid which seems common in the U.S.). Will report back once its fitted
  7. Daily driver- circa 1000 a month, mostly duel carriageway/ motorway. Why own a great car, and buy another rubbish one to drive every day? No thanks
  8. Nice car, what's the reason for sale so soon?
  9. J17 v poor reviews recently- steer clear. Caymans are great cars but I agree about the new ones- shame they're £60k!

    VX220

Interesting post- I moved to the 350z from an exige s2 (190bhp). Always tempted by the rarity and price of the vx220. They will always feel much faster as you're so low down and there is so much noise. I found the 190bhp engines (111r Elise/ s2 exige) hard to keep in the power band as you had to be over 6200rpm to get on the race cam which is where the power was. I also found the semi slick yoko's would let go to suddenly in the wet, but were mind bending in the dry! I eventually fitted Goodyear eagle f1's which were great every day. I think a supercharger is perfect as it gives you power lower down the rev range. I found my 350z much quicker in terms of real world driving as it had a huge amount more torque, would put the power down better, was more stable and more importantly had much greater visibility, allowing you to go faster safer. Andy Walsh (carlimits.com) offers superb driver training at North Weald to anyone interested in getting the most out of their lotus/vx safely. In saying all that I'm now off to the classifieds to look at vx prices- there is nothing like the sense of occasion and fun that these cars offer, strongly recommend them at least once in your life
  11. Rare Z1 braided clutch line for the 370 arrived well packed with fresh Motul fluid. Speedy thanks!
  12. Interesting- I planned on seeing their cars but never made it. I was impressed by their high end stuff- perhaps a ploy to look smart! Shame as they always have a good selection. I try to buy private, much better chance of buying a good car and you meet the owner who will know more about it than some sales rep.
  13. I also went on this course with the exige- Andy Walsh is a legend. Leant more that day than several years of driving! Should be everyone's first 'mod' when they buy a high performance rear wheel drive car.
  14. My 370z is my daily and those with ~45k miles have just dipped under £15k. I ran an exige S2, also daily. Very special, no depreciation, amazing noise. Dangerous to drive in the winter (to be honest) and incredibly impractical. Also ran an E46 330 m sport, solid as anything but always went wrong and was slow as anything& stupidly dull. Others mentioned- mostly too unreliable for a daily if you ask me. Caution on the porkers- look up 'bore scoring' on the Cayman/911, getting more common with age and engine rebuild to fix. Z4m coupe isn't a bad shout but you won't get as new/ low miles as the equivilant z and the servicing is poor, plus the rubbish image (unless you're 22 and looking to pull that is ) / my 2p
  15. Did you find the uprev on the 370 got you close/ the same as the throttle response on the 350 without resorting to a lightweight flywheel I loved the 350's response and after making the 370 similar/ as quick a response as possible.
  16. First dibs no longer fast enough oh well. Lovely bits these!
  17. Dibs on the Berks and the stillen, pm on the way...
  18. Why's it got acne? My god, it's horrible- and I like a unique modified car.
  19. Pm'd re berk decats- will definitely have these if still available.
  20. As per title, I want to fit either 15mm or 20mm spacers to the front as I feel the 25mm I have on there at the moment set the wheels too proud of the arch, and with rim protector bridgestone S001's on there, it sticks out too far. Stud replacement is required as otherwise the studs will foul the front wheels being too long. Also need the M12 x 1.25 open ended lug nut which s required to replace studs. Thanks in advance...
