  1. I rate them as decent tyres, certainly better than Falken F452's. They are also quiet tyres which is nice.
  2. BSD isn't that great on wheels, it won't last too long by itself. I don't find it that good on glass either. I like BSD on the paint though a lot. Persevere with the application method and it isn't grabby and doesn't need buffing. It's particularly good at reviving products that are just beginning to fail and will last about 4-6 weeks by itself. I agree it isn't a QD though, it is a spray sealant used to compliment their sealant range, rather then to be used like classic QD's like Meg's Last Touch to wipe or clean a bit of dust, whilst not really adding any durability to the product. Picked up a bargain in Tesco's on the weekend - Turtlewax Ice Synthetic Spray Detailer - Usually about a tenner in Halfords, got it for £2. Also got 3 bottles of their colour bleed wheel cleaner (like Iron-X) for £2 each as well. Both products on first investigation seem pretty good, with their detailer being more spray sealant than QD but being more slippy than BSD so will be better at cleaning. Check out your local Tesco's, it would be rude not to at that price!
  3. Great test. Good to know that my original ideas on the wax products used were quite accurate. Looking forward to the next episode.
  4. The con comes from resale value. A custom is worth way way less if you need to sell it.
  5. The Eagle F1's I'd rate as better than the RE50's, as are the Hankook Evo S2's. The Hankook Evo V12's are also better than Fallen F452's by a good margin. Make of that what you will.
  6. 2 miles is way too short a journey to do a car any good, particularly one with a big engine. It's the oil that is key to warming up and will never warm up in that time. Engine wear central. Get a banger if you have to drive that distance, or catch the bus.
  7. I also don't think the early Xenon's are particularly bad, if the aim is adjusted correctly the light throw is fine. The Bose is not particularly great though, the sub is too wooly.
  8. Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish are a good and very easy and forgiving to use two step polishing system. In fact, the Compound finishes down quite nicely itself. Bear in mind that different cars have different paint hardness, with Japanese paints having soft paints, Vauxhalls having medium hardness and German brands having hard paints. When working with a new car, always start with the least aggressive combination, and build up if needed.
  9. HD Wax is better than any Meguiars wax sold in Halfords. It's more like Meguiars #16 which is not sold in Halfords.
  10. Is it going to be a single product or a mixture test again?
  11. I could not carry on with those on my car! I'd be doing a full decontamination, clay, polish and winter prep. Good on you for being the guinea pig, but I think its clear to see that a new test should begin.
  12. For sale I have a pair of Alezan leather seats from a 2003 350z. They are in a good condition for their age, I've cleaned them up prior to sale. The passenger seat is obviously in much better condition than the drivers. I'm looking for £400 plus delivery, though if willing to collect, that would be excellent!
  13. I have Berks hfc's with my Invidia Gemini. The Berks with my standard exhaust were raspy but they aren't at all with the Invidia. Therefore my Invidia at least removes rasp from raspy exhaust components. Make of that what you will.
  14. Its a good wax. Expensive in Halfords but decent.
  15. Have you driven the 911? If you have the it's your choice! If not drive one. Then....it's your choice!
  16. Shampoo mix all the way. QD is an expense that isn't needed.
  17. Good choice. They are quite a lot better than the Falkens when the chips are down.
  18. It is a touch grabby, but I have found that a lightly damp microfibre makes applying BSD really easy to apply and a similar principle applies to PNS. Compared to waxing it is so easy - spray a little on the panel, wipe around with lightly damp microfibre applicator, buff off with plush microfibre. Done. For those of us with silver or grey cars, this really is a great range of products for these lighter colours.
  19. I'm testing out the difference in water behaviour between Sonax's Polymer NetShield, Brilliant Shine Detailler (BSD) over Polymer NetShield and BSD over Collinite 915. Best so far is plain Polymer Netshield - it is in fact ridiculously good!
  20. This thread has even got me with three different products on my bonnet!
