  1. If you're going for 18"s then I think 40's should be fine. If you were going 19"s then 35 is standard due to increase in wheel diamater you have a lower profile to stop any rubbing. The profile is the % compared to tyre width. So 265/40 means the tyre sidewall height will be 265*0.4. Don't put different profiles on front to rear unless you're going for different wheel sizes front to rear, ie 18" front and 19" rear.
  2. Without going for the stretched look this table gives you an idea of what tyre width you should be running, but it doesn't say what would/wouldn't cause rubbing. The offset and wheel width will affect whether you need your arches rolling to stop the tyres rubbing. http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp is a good site to put in your current wheels and see the difference with new wheels. This will give you an idea of how far in/out the new wheels will be compared to your current ones.
  3. me hate the world my own fault but it just shows you that you can pass your test and not know everything/anything about the highway code, you'd think Mr Policeman would give a polite warning not a dry bumming for first time minor offence. I guess it all depends on the pattern of the white line, if it was a zigzag one at pelican and zebra crossings then he did right. Technically yes he did right by the letter of the law, but for a polite young lad who's never been in trouble with the police driving a 5 door Fiesta, a stern telling off would've done the trick, not raping me of insurance for 5 years.

  5. Mines easily twice that due to Manchester post code I've also got 3 points from PC30, I can take them off this year but next year is 5 years since it happened and the insurers can stop rinsing me for it them. I did quotes this year with and without PC30, was near £300 difference all for stopping on a white line to let my missus pop something in the post box
  6. Prefer this one, definitely got me interested in watching Palace this year
  7. I'm Zedless until Friday too, first time being apart Although its for a good cause!
  8. Ah, yeah nice bunch down there. Some lovely garage near me managed to put one of the front shocks on back to front so the hose clip was knocking on something. They solved that for me but now I've got another bloody noise, have to go back next week. Best place round NW though by far.
  9. Nice find, I had the non anti-theft ones and lost 1 and the other 3 got nicked when I went back to my parents house in Liverpool
  10. Looks tidy, make sure you get a decent stubby
  11. Changing topic? There's no such thing as having on topic on here, the title is just an advisory point to start from No front numberplate is a dream! I'd love to have a nice clean front instead of whopping big white plate.
  12. Extras?! Oh aye! Apparently these have already been taken by some lucky person my350z.com is a good place to look for wheel stance, hundreds of photos over the pond.
  13. If its a friend just say can he blend it in as the rest of the paint must have faded over time and you'll give him a bit of extra cash Blame the car not the painter and he probably won't have an issue with doing it for you!
  14. Was the whole car with the body shop hen it was painted or just the bumper? Azure is a difficult colour to match. If it doesn't match take it back and get them to sort it. Any decent body shop should be able to get a close as anything match.

    Arch rolling

I was tempted to do mine but I found someone that did them for £60, if you can find someone at that price it's not worth the hassle of doing yourself! Try http://www.archenemy.co.uk/ or Google. It took me ages to find someone around Manchester that could do them. Are the spacers just on the rear or all round you've fitted?

    Goodies!!!

Love the wheels, always want to go for something bright but depends on the colour(s) of the car, what colour's the car?

    Goodies!!!

Where did you get the tow strap from?
  18. Were you there yesterday? Was another zed there when I took mine in in the morning.
  19. I can't stop looking at it once I start, crazy!
  20. I might have a full can of black in my garage. Will take a look when I go out later! Where about are you located though?
  21. Has anyone got photos of a gunmetal car with satin black lips/skirts/diffuser? Can't find any online that are satin/matte, only glossy. Would the satin lose the detail and just look like plastic on the bottom of the car? Obviously non-OEM front/rear/sides. I was going for gunmetal/satin black all over but in usual fashion I've changed my mind at the last minute. Wondering if people have tried using satin but decided it doesn't look right as with gloss you'll get reflections and be able to see the detail around the bottom of the car? Gunmetal with gloss black
  22. Typical, mine stopped working about 2 hours ago yet the missus' on the same network is fine
  23. I love the wheels but I want something with less spokes or thinner. I also want something lighter as in black you can't really see how nice they are. Refurbishing them is an option but at ~£200 I thought I'd see if there's any interest in selling them. Tarmac, they're 5x120 standard so they would fit. But I won't split the adapters from the rest as I won't have any use for them on their own.
  24. BMW E65 Wheels - 19x10 ET24 + PCD Adaptors Falken 452's all round - 235/35/19. The rears have been on the car for 8 weeks, probably around 500 miles usage. The fronts I will measure later tonight, should be quite a bit of tread left on them. The adaptors are 20mm front and 33mm rear, giving offsets of +4 and -9. You will either need have your arches rolled or be running at a ride height of -14mm at the most. My Eibach springs caused rubbing but once I had my arches rolled I didn't have a problem. They come with PCD adaptors to fit 5 x 114.3. They're in good condition overall, standard marks from tyre fitters. I've added some photos of them in their normal state, and some in the matte black Plastidip that I currently have them in. I will look over them tomorrow for any noticeable damage, if I find any I will knock £50 off per wheel. In their current state on my car: Will only sell them as all 4 alloys, with tyres and PCD adaptors. £1100 delivered.
