Holy @*!#, didn't even see the car underneath until I saw Luke's comment! No fatalities is surprising, unless they got out before everything fell on top of the cars? -
Yeah it only occurs over bumps but I really only notice it going up my drive as I go really slowly over it. It's like a clunk from both sides, louder on the drivers side though. Driving in a straight line or on an open road doesn't make any noise.

Another week and another new purchase! Thought I'd give eBay a go for some eyelids, but the only ones in UK I could find were carbon ones, I was looking for non-carbon so I could have them painted gun metal or satin black. But after seeing them on the car (test fitted) in carbon I do actually like them! ps Ignore the giant hole in the garden, that's another story

Was the noise on your fronts like a metallic clunk over speed bumps? I've just put new springs on my car and the fronts seem to have a metallic knock when going up my drive at an angle. Seems fine driving round but at slow speeds at an angle I can really hear it!

I swapped out my springs, which takes longer as I had to fit new springs to the shocks, and that took me a whole Sunday on my drive. I'd expect a garage to do it in a few hours if everything came off ok.

Hope it doesn't head up north! Everyone's cars looked filthy when I came out of work, thought they were just all lazy gits until I saw mine too Nasty dirty rain!

Mine are 10's all round with 235's on. Fronts stick out of the arch slightly, 9's would have been better but I didn't buy them new so get what you're given I suppose! The rears also stick out a bit, I bought 20mm spacers for the rear as the 33mm ones on it I thought were causing the rubbing, but adjusting the ride height has sorted the rubbing out so the 20mm spacers are going back. You might get away with 245/255 on the rears with 20mm spacers, I'd prefer non-stretched but I'll wait until these tyres need changing until I see what fits. You can't go any less than 20mm on the front due to the calipers, it's a very snug fit, but on the rears there is loads of room, just a shame no one makes 5mm spacer as I'd buy that for the rears and that would tuck the wheels in nicely. My fronts are dropped 17mm, rears 14mm. There's a fairly big gap in the rear arch which I don't like but only way round that is to run 9's all round. Let me know how you get on with 20mm spacers on the rear, if you could get a photo of directly above that would be great.

That's what I thought looking at that one, it seems there are a few sizes possible dependant on length of the numberplate. So 510mm normal, 410mm for 6 letter plate and 350mm for 5 letter plate.

Without wanting to start a new thread, where can I get the smallest legal plate from? Is this legal:

EPR do them but they're out of stock. Does anyone know where I can get hold of one? Non carbon ideally and not on eBay as they're near £70!

I decided to give PocketGPSWorld a go via CameraAlert on my iPhone. £20 for a years subscription and you can get daily updates of any new spotted cameras. There's an incentive to add cameras you spot; free lifetime subscription. So people are adding camera's everyday! They do have to be verified by multiple users so it's not just a free for all on adding "cameras" you've spotted. It's worked well for cameras so far, driving to Derby it let me know of all static cameras and possible mobile cameras. Didn't see any mobile but it let me know of all mobile a fair distance before they appeared on the road

Same wheels I have, I've got 20mm spacer on the front and 33mm on the back. Had to get rear arches rolled as there was rubbing and went from Eibach springs to Tein to increase the ride height. I did buy some 20mm spacers for the rear but the rolling and new springs seems to have stopped the rubbing, so they're going back! You can see my car here - removed the photo in case people think it's your car! That photo is with them on the Eibach springs, so theres a bit more room in the arches than that now. Hopefully getting the wheels aligned on Saturday. What size tyres did you go for? Mine are 235 all round, stretched but any bigger on the rear and I think they will rub like crazy!

I can hear it on the drive with the bonnet open, just struggle to when I'm giving it some on the road. Is there much cabin noise difference or is it more of a window open need to hear noise? Can still hear the HFCs rasping away!
-
Think I'm the only person to say I'm disappointed by the noise, or lack of, that the popcharger makes. Really struggling to hear much of a difference between pre and post popcharger I'm yet to notice any noticeable performance drop from the OEM airbox with 06 velocity stack.
-
Must say, after driving on A roads and motorway, I really can't tell much of a difference between pre and post JWT. I was expecting some kind of roar but I really couldn't tell a difference, maybe a bit throatier where the HFC rasp is but not by as much as I was expecting. Underwhelmed to say the least! Also fitted Tein springs for my Eibach ones, hopefully less issues with clearance now, they seem a little noisy though compared to my Eibachs, do they just need bedding in a bit?
-
JWT Popcharger installed! Took out the standard airbox with 06 velocity stack mod. Will be good to see if there is any difference driving the car day to day. Sounded awesome blipping the throttle on the drive
-
Looking forward to HFC's + Popcharger. I love the HFC rasp so hoping it compliments it

PCD adaptors arrived from Awesome GTI, said they would be 1-2 weeks but arrived within a few days, much quicker than I thought. Shame upon opening the box there seems to be 10 bolts missing! Not their fault but H&R, the manufacturer. Also decided to grab a JWT Popcharger to see what the noise is all about. Will be good to see if there is any performance/throttle difference between my 2004 airbox with 06 velocity stack against the popcharger.

Does the Vortech V3 one you sell Tarmac fit UK cars?

The car above is who I got the wheels from He ran that much camber his rears were shot and had to buy a new pair when I bought the tyres. I'm currently running a 30mm drop and due to the 19x10 ET4 on the front and ET-9 on the rear any potholes or big lumps cause rubbing on the wheel arch. Had the arches rolled few days ago and bought new Tein springs to increase the ride height all round by 13/17mm. I highly doubt that if I ran the car that low for more than a couple of days I'd have a front lip! I have no idea how his front looks like that though as the wheels/tyres are wider than my front arch and I'm using the same wheels/tyres/pcd adaptors he had

That's one thing I do like about the V2 over this spoiler; the different colour blades. On this spoiler there isn't a separation like the V2 so having different colour horizontal parts might look odd as there's no start/end point. I think I'll get it fitted as it is and use it for a week or so to see if I like it. If not I can get it sprayed matte black/GM. But either way it needs spraying as it's swirl marks galore all over, looks in terrible condition compared to the rest of the cars paint work.
