  1. I thought the safest motorway roads are not ours by some stretch, in fact its the Autobahns that are safest which have no limit. I am quite happy to sit within 30 actually in built up areas, yes I could drive at 50mph but that would give me no chance when a numpty pulls out on me or something which can happen at 3am as it is at 3pm. Going at 50mph in 30mph roads where you have to stop every 250 yards for lights or whatnot really makes no difference to your journey time. However on motorways I think a limit of 90 would be good. I am not sure about unlimited as I have to say it but the UK is littered with muppet drivers who have attitudes and intent on road rage, more so than most of Europe it feels. Just worry you will get 17 year olds with a clapped out old banger trying to drive it at 100mph+ causing havoc.
  2. ...sat outside the office
  3. Well I am going to go nick a Bugatti Veyron and live in it then if that's the case. Hell why stop there, I wouldn't mind one of those Abramovich style yachts to live on...off to Monaco, who's with me!
  4. Just the messenger man...just the messenger...
  5. As far as I was aware they should reclaim the caravan and the travellers lose their money - if you bought a stolen car thats what would happen. You cant legally buy stolen goods!
  6. There is a road near Holborn station that by all accounts clocked up £3.5m in fines alone. Thats one road!
  7. Seems to work on my laptop. In summary, retired couple buy caravan with retirement money. Caravan stolen. Caravan found 18 months later with 'travellers' living in it. Police cannot recover the Caravan as it would breach the travellers 'human rights'. Only proof of ownership from travellers is a hand written receipt for £300 who the travellers say they got off a 'bloke down the pub' when they apparently bought it. Police tell retired couple that they have to go through civil courts self funded to recover it.

  9. Yes they do pass the MOT Fitting is bolts off cat out, direct replacement - although bolts can be very much sealed on so make sure you got room to get under and get leverage on them Berks HFC will give you car a raspy sound, somewhat metallic, its alright for most although some dont like it.
  10. I have to say I am astonished that we managed to get 7 pages of ranting, commenting, opinions, observations and slating out of what was effectively 'Should you drive through a red light?' Imagine the number of responses if someone posts up 'Whats the meaning of life?'
  11. Well done, always good to hear news like this!
  12. Its because all the Zed owners are coming around to the startling conclusion that they should have bought a Jag or a Vauxhall...
  13. they are an acquired taste in car design - much better in the fibre-glass though than on camera!
  14. Shame you missed out on this, convertible and very erm focused... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vauxhall-cavalier-convertable-turbo-engine-c20lep-/330960160886
  15. +1 and there are a lot of people that do for very short periods of time - when looking into these I found its not uncommon for an 8-10 year old VX/Elise with circa 50k miles on it to have had 7+ owners
  16. S2 Elise for good on road driver focus - or if you are not so badge conscious follow my lead and get a VX220 (you will all be converted soon enough!) - as far as 'driver focus' goes its a country mile ahead of the 350z. Be prepared for lack of creature comforts, the most humiliating entrance and exit of a car you will ever have to take part in, lots of rattling, dashboards that are held on with sticky tape and plenty of engine noise behind your head. But for 'driver focus and involvement' these cars are epic.
  17. Ahh maybe...I do go through Richmond sometimes I remember now, saw you passing me in the opposite direction, would have been last friday maybe, you were heading towards richmond bridge I was going the other way in my red VX220, just on the road by Waterstones
  18. Those leaky roofs are an optional extra I will have you know :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  19. Im actually in Richmond sipar, pretty sure I have seen that grey 370 a few times? Yes centre kingston is awful but its a good cut through coming home from football at 10pm
  20. I had a crazy run of lights the other day in kingston - there are about 4 sets all round the one way system if you go through the town centre. As I went through each set of lights, as I was about ten feet from the line and it went amber. I was like 'oh blimey went through on amber' then again and again - it was like the lights are perfectly timed to stop and start traffic but if you find yourself in this half a second window they flick to amber as you cross the line! I find the whole thing as well about 'slowing for traffic lights' something of a farce. How slow is slow? 10mph? 25mph? And what is more dangerous, people stepping on the brakes when there is an empty road in front of them or even people lifting off the throttle so no brake lights come up at all. Surely it would make more sense if the traffic lights were simply timed to speed limit of the road ie if its a 30mph then the time the light is amber is calibrated to the stopping time/distance of a car travelling at 30mph.
