  1. Actually think that an under bonnet light might be quite a useful mod!

    Advice please

I know its way over your budget, but I got a set of Volks Racing alloys with new Falken tyres on them for £1k off someone on here. Worth hanging on and putting up with the ugly ones and grabbing yourself a bargain when they come along.

The Rays are pretty light anyway, I think about 8kgs each. You only have to add a couple of Kgs to this to totally throw out your handling and reduce your acceleration. I wasn't saying get expensive lightweight alloys, I was saying don't buy something heavier than you already got. If you value looks over your current performance then by all means go for it but I would definitely get them to send you the weights of these before buying. That's my tuppence worth anyway.
  4. Sorry just been trawling through my ebay history didnt buy it via that...it was over a year ago sorry!
  5. Clearly we all need to look into the US laws to know who was right and who was wrong - I'm not sure but if he is issuing a parking ticket the driver is entitled to drive away? The cop then put himself in the way deliberately. But yes, driver is a dick, cop is as quite a few are, often using excess of their powers when dealing with the public. He did lose it and throw a punch then drag the guy out the car.
  6. Was going to say with the standard back box Wasso's car sounds utterly stunning with the XYZ pipe

Check the weights of them - you generally in this world get what you pay for, cheap alloys tend to weigh a ton and can throw your handling out the window. Personally I would get wheels also with the right offsets that clear the calipers, never been a fan of lobbing a chunk of metal between the car and the wheel. There are plenty of options that will fit without the need for spacers, check with the traders on here for advice.
  8. Get yourself some vinyl wrap and tidy the interior up - wrap the centre console, door grabs etc. For the reflectors I just stuck a black piece of vinyl over them, 5 minute job and voila I had stealth!
  9. I also read somewhere about the battery change over time - it is like a few minutes otherwise you are left with a blanked key.
  10. Enjoy. I was like you a mechanical incompetent but after a year of Zedding had put in a plenum spacer and added side and front lip skirts all on my own Its a great car for working on, easy access to the engine, very nicely laid out in the engine bay.
  11. If we doing photos... From Zed To VX
  12. Two northbound, black one around 10:30am just before the A66 and a Ginger one an hour later near a place called Sandy? Also overtaken heading southbound by a silver about ten mins before reaching M25 around 4ish.
  13. Not sure why you are going EBC, never get great reviews - I had BD discs and pads and they stopped very well.
  14. I meant that back then, it was quite plausible that God existed (thunder, lightning etc all was more god like than just weather patterns) whereas now we know what causes things, generally. Steve Jobs could be a 'Jesus' in future, but not God.
  15. Interesting thought.... No we wont. We are more intelligent now...just.
  16. I think that the characters in various religions probably did exist, although like some people stories on here of driving exploits, the actual event is never actually as exciting as the story that was told. The universe is contracting, the fact that we will need to wait another 1 billion years before we actually see the edge of it means this started some time ago we just don't know it.
  17. He was definitely speeding, in my opinion as well he didnt realise the impending crash until the second set of '5hits' because he seemed to brake and then let off but then brake again. In any case he must be a brain dead numpty for posting the video up online anyway when clearly he is riding like an utter **** and could have killed himself and/or other road users.
  18. I love all the gtechnique stuff its pricey but very good - i used to use the wheel sealant.

    carbon goodness

oooo... from where?.... David Something like this? http://www.epracing.co.uk/Carbon-Accessories/Nissan/350Z/350Z-Carbon-Fluid-Cover/p-75-122-123-1443/ Try Steve350z might be able to help
  20. Yep should definitely remap it if you have done all that - it will really change the drive of the car.
  21. Might look ok'ish if you powder coat them black or something but yeah in my opinion pretty awful - but then again the only opinion that counts is yours as its your money!
  22. Yes - usual process is to increase the air flow as best as possible ie velocity stack in the airbox, plenum spacer, sports cats, exhaust then apply the remap - if you do the map first you then change anything substantial you need to pay for extra dyno time to tweak it. Do read the various threads, bear in mind all that will cost you circa £2k and you will probably gain around 15bhp - the remap is more about the drivability of the car than any big power gains.
  23. I think the restriction is to something like 110? In any case if you are going to be modifying the engine you will be looking for the remap at one of the various specialists (Abbey etc) which will remove the limiter, if indeed it is still there.
  24. The clicking could be the good old clicking CV joint problem. Have a searchy on here before you pay out good money on parts, it can be fixed with a simple re-grease. Ekona 'has views' on many things but tyres are something he enjoys talking about - drop him a PM if you like but there are many threads discussing them also on here. The general concensus seems to be get matching tyres all round, although RE040 Bridges are not the best tyre in the world, how much you got left on the fronts? Might be worth doing all 4 at the same time if you have the budget - top tyres are SuperSports it seems although a lot of people go for Falken or Vreds. Otherwise Alex is good for all your Nissan parts and will save you a packet over any Nissan dealership. Whereabouts are you located? There is a meet at the Grasshopper in Westerham (near Gatwick) in a couple of weeks, come along and sure the lads will take a look at any rattles and noises.
