  1. I'm with you on that - the sound of a 6R4 coming through the forest is something pretty special. Having said that, any Ferrari with a Colombo V12 engine makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up......
  2. Hi, Just PM'd - I'd be very grateful for the boot mat, if you don't mind? I can collect tomorrow, as I'll be in Overton down the road. Thanks, Dave
  3. Whereabouts are you? There are plenty of people on here who have code readers and would be prepared to help, I'm sure. If you're near Bournemouth, I've got one and can read it for you if its a UK car.
  4. Seriously cheap insurance with them for me, too - less than half the price of my renewal with the big red telephone brand! Amusingly, my insurance is now a large chunk cheaper than my road tax, even with business use and 10k miles p/a........
  5. Looks more like a 911 with every new edition
  6. Since when did 3.5 litres and 2 seats become 'ecology oriented'
  7. I'll take a burger keyring, please - should I buy through the website? Thanks, Dave
  8. Welcome along! Also check for the Clicky Axle, Skipping Bose CD Player, Dead Clutch - and most of all, make sure its been serviced properly. ask the vendor what type of fuel they use, too (should be super). The Rev-up engine is not the one with the 7500rpm redline - that is the HR (313), and doesn't have any particular oil consumption issues. The Rev-up (300) has a redline about 7000rpm (6900?) and some do indeed have oil consumption issues, but by no means all of them. really all you can do when viewing the car is check that the oil level is ok, and that it doesn't look like black treacle. I think I am right to say that the car you are looking at, if its a 2005 and not a GT4 (which it won't be if its a roadster), is most likely an early model (276), and will have a redline at 6500rpm. Good luck with the search, Dave
  9. Make sure the full service history is with a reputable garage - but there's probably not too much worry about it being clocked! You would also want to be confident it had been run on super unleaded for most of those miles! The interior looks in better condition than some with half the miles.
  10. Not actually e-bay, so mods please move if required.... ....seems cheap for a GT4, although admittedly someone has enjoyed a few miles in it. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3673221.htm If anyone who reads this is interested, please check that damaged wheel carefully, 'cos it looks like the spokes may be cracked as well as the kerbing damage you can easily see!
  11. ....isn't really an upgrade at all, but rather a restoration. Mine was in for a P1 service at Westover Nissan HPC in Bournemouth on Tuesday, and while it was there I treated it to new pair of front Bridgestone RE050a's (rears were done late last year), and had a full 4-wheel alignment done. Wow - what a transformation, the tramlining has all but disappeared, and the car feels so settled compared to before the work. Admittedly, the tramlining I had was probably more related to the nearly worn-out tyres, but I've got to say, I think keeping the alignment right is really worth it.
  12. Congratulations on the purchase mate, I'm sure you'll love it.
  13. Congratulations on the purchase mate - I'm sure you'll love it. I've had a 370z Auto as a courtesy car a couple of times and its seriously impressive stuff - the handling feels a lot sharper than the 350. Hope you enjoy another 3 years of the new one.
  14. If higher octane fuel is not so easy to come by in the US, are US cars not just mapped differently to run on lower octane fuel?
  15. Hello mate, I came from a 182 FF to the Zed, and much as I love the Zed and find it very rewarding, there are still times I pine after the 182 again. The Clio has really exceptional handling for a relatively inexpensive hatch, and the engine is great if you keep it on the boil. The Zed is definitely quicker in a straight line, and in-gear acceleration is much stronger due to the greater torque, but on a wet twisty track, I'd choose the Clio for point-to-point progress. Having said all of that, if you take care to learn the Zed's rear drive characteristics, its a very rewarding experience, and is quite forgiving and adjustable without being silly. The Zed is much more of a GT than an out-and-out sports car in my opinion, but is still great fun. Dave
  16. When did your car last have the plugs changed?
  17. Bit of sleety rubbish down here in Dorset - turning to rain now. Was chilly last night, Bournemouth airport recorded -11 , and we're not used to that round here...awaits flaming from those north of the Watford Gap
  18. Glad you're not more badly hurt - I guess that's an insurance job on the bike?
  19. Welcome along, and can I be the first to say...
