  1. to the club Dave. So are you just randomly joining forums or do you have some interest in the 350/370z?? Tell us a bit about yourself.
  2. Not fair, I can't see video at work and I'm away for 3 weeks What is it?
  3. Yep, that would make it run a little rough
  4. Typical Jock! Spend 20k on a motor and worry about £50 worth of petrol.
  5. Welcome back (although we didn't know you'd gone ) Bet you can't wait.
  6. Have you had an Uprev? I'm sure Mark mentioned to me about a 4k safe limit under certain conditions like if it were overheating etc..? Was it running hot?
  7. It is quite a fast track. It was a Novice day so no one was pushing it too far, apart from the TVR Tuscan that lost it under braking at the end of a straight and ended up backward into the Armco on lap 3. I really enjoyed the zed on track, I was getting quite a bit of body roll (standard suspension) but it still handled very well. Oil temp were HIGH probably was averaging about 120 degC, but on a lap when I really pushed it it peaked at 138 degC needless to say I slowed down. Luckily I'm using good oil and it was only a few hundred miles old so no problems apparent.
  8. Na, no idea on the calliper temps. The fluid was fresh, because I put the HEL lines on last week and flushed 1.5 litres through it afterwards to make sure all the old stuff was out. I have some footage of the day, but unfortunately I'm away working and cannot upload/download or watch any videos. But I wouldn't say I was gentle but nor was I overly aggressive on the brakes. I felt the ABS a couple of times. I would say if ABS intervention was 100% braking, I was generally braking at 85-95%. It was my first 'track day' in the zed so wasn't going like a nutter (although nothing overtook me all day, including an Aston V8 Vantage, Porker Carrera 4, a BMW M something, lotus Elan and a couple of Elises, vx220s, a caterham and a couple of modded TT Quatros. Yeah, I was very happy with my brake set up. Which is more than I can say for my oil temps!!! (oil cooler now next on the list)
  9. Just an update for you Anders, I did 5 x 15-20min sessions at Snetterton 300 circuit on Wednesday. Current set up- HEL braided lines, Fresh RBF600 fluid, front- DBA T3 4000 discs DS2500 pads. OEM Brembo discs and pads on the rear. The thermo-graphic paint indicates that the front discs reached somewhere between 550 and 630 deg C. I would suspect nearer the 600-620 as the red paint has started to go pink but hadn't reached white at 630C. I experienced absolutely no fade, glazing or spongy pedal whatsoever and had nothing but confidence with them.
  10. As long as the reservoir doesn't run dry, keep it topped up as you go and you should be fine. I have the DBA T3's with Ferrodo ds2500, HEL lines and RBF600 and its awesome. Had it on the track on wednesday and had absolutely no fade whatsoever.
  11. to the forum. Get some pics up once you've collected it.
  12. Gutted for you Chris. What a great attitude though! You must have one seriously understanding wife
  13. I'm just 10mins down the road in Downham Market. Where will you be moving to? (and more importantly does it have a potential Zed shed?) Would be good to have a fellow enthusiast to have a natter to from time to time and help out when another pair of hands is needed! (when I'm not away working that is)
  14. Nice one on the initial figures Should have fair bit more to come with your set up. On the smoky bank. Hope its an easy fix mate.
  15. if not you'll just be guessing and second guessing what you should do to increase performance and put money and time in the wrong area... I'd like to know if I cut holes in my lining if it actually made any difference, if I install titanium shims does it hinder heat travelling to my calipers, if I get a different type pad does it help heat buildup, if I install brake ducts does it do any difference... otherwise you just work on the 'feel' and think that something made a difference when it really didn't. The thing is, unless your actually racing to a level where tenths of seconds matter, or your actually experiencing braking problems, I can't see that it matters. Surely if it feels good, it's good enough.
  16. oh yeah t3 that's right. I may have had a glass or two off English whiskey. First impressions are very good. They defiantly bite a lot harder than the oem brembos. I will do a post on them in the next day or two. It is T3 that you have Sam You can purchase a decent hand held laser temperature tool for circa £50.00
