  1. See bottom of page 2 for update. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=59963&start=15
  2. Just a little update for those interested. After lots of searching around at different Oil Cooler kits and making up custom kits from parts, I've ordered this: http://www.driftworks.com/thermostatic-oil-cooler-kit-for-sr20det-vvt-s14-s15.html Its not intended for the 350z but for the S14/S15. I've checked all the parts included and it will fit the Zed fine (driftworks have confirmed this also). The 2 main benefits of this kit are 1. Its cheap! and 2. The Thermostatic Sandwich plate included is set to open at 92degC instead of the usual 80. This will allow the oil to warm up nicely and shouldn't suffer from the cooler (sub 80deg) oil temp in the winter which I wanted to avoid. Unfortunately, they are not able to give group buy discounts. I'm hoping to fit it in the next couple of weeks, so will update with fitting and temp findings after.
  3. You can put a camera anywhere you like. Most people (including myself) use a head unit with a screen on it to display the camera picture. There are quite a few threads about rear view cameras that will probably answer most of your questions, have a search.
  4. On an oil rig 'Flying' an ROV watching and making sure there is nothing leaking while they drill a hole in the seabed.
  5. The cats tend to hide any smoke. (assuming your Berks are HFC and not decats). Before you worry, I would remove the under tray, leave a sheet of cardboard under the car and leave it running for 20 mins or so then let it stand overnight. Have a look in the morning for any signs of oil leaks. If there aren't any...then its burning it.
  6. Is there any reason why you don't fill it to the top? I would keep the level up at the Max line if it were me. That way its much easier to monitor and it makes it less likely to fall below the minimum causing further damage. Regarding the oil - the Pro S is top stuff I use the 10w/40 on mine. It might help a bit with oil consumption if you were to use a thicker oil. 10w/40 would be fine. You could go as far as 15w50 but if you do a lot of short journeys I wouldn't recommend it as it may not get warm enough and you could get a build up of moisture in the oil.
  7. +1000000000000000 Well done guys +1 Although it made last nights 12 hour night shift probably the longest I've ever done Back on for tonight's shift though
  8. to the club. Some Zeds use oil, but usually its limited to the Rev-up engine. If a pre 06 DE engine car is using oil, there is a problem.
  9. I can only assume its because the engine doesn't rock on the mounts? Without one when you put your foot on the throttle there is a little delay in the drive being transferred to the wheels due to the engine rocking on its mounts. With a damper or hard engine mounts the power transfer is a lot quicker. (obviously we are talking a very little time difference but some people do say it noticeable).
  10. I have the Stillen Engine Damper fitted. http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=S ... c=PE&m=all I couldn't give you a before and after comparison as it was fitted when I got the car, but with it fitted the engine moves very little when giving it a rev, so I assume its doing its job. In-fact the whole car rocks instead! It is a nice, well made item. It is mounted so it get direct linear force through it rather than a bit of lateral like the ones that mount to your top mount. The advantage of these Engine dampers over harder mounts is that noise and vibration transfer is much less and they are much easier to fit than new mounts. Reading reviews from people with them fitted, they generally report improved throttle response along with the car feeling more stable under hard acceleration, especially when exiting corners. That would also agree with what the previous owner told me he found. Fitting instructions here; http://www.stillen.com/product_files/307355~inst.pdf
  11. I bought my OBDII reader a couple of years ago from ebay for about £28. Can use it on my android phone using Torque or on my laptop with the supplied software. And they are much cheaper now. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from= ... Categories
  12. I have the Invidia G200 true dual. It has slash cut burnt titanium tips and definitely has a deep exhaust note. The one I have isn't loud unless your WOT but I have an older system that incorporates mid-pipe silencers. I believe all the later versions only have the back box so are a bit louder. There is a couple of vids here that might be of interest. Unfortunately the base note seen to get lost when on camera. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=56550&hilit=exhaust
  13. I have always thought the opposite - not enough power! There is a pattern forming in this thread. Get out and enjoy it!
  14. I really like that!! That would look on a Zed.
