  1. Can't see it actually being gear related. Maybe just the fact its working harder in 6th so highlights the issue more. If it became apparent after the de-cats there's a good chance its related. Could be a few things. Have you checked for leaks on the exhaust / decats/ manifold ? An exhaust leak that close to the engine can certainly have an effect on performnce and seeing as its been disturbed recently is a possibility. As you say, it could also need a remap. Some Zeds seem more effected by decats than others. You say you already had an induction kit fitted so it could be that the increased flow of Induction + decats is now causing it to run lean/rich. You may not notice it in the lower gears but in top gear, working harder you maybe getting some DET so the ecu is pulling the timing causing the power loss. Either way, I wouldn't be ragging it until you know its running right or you may cause serious issues. Mark @ abbey will see you right anyway if you haven't sussed it before the remap. If your getting a remap anyway, probably worth sticking a plenum spacer on there while you're at it to get the most out of it.
  2. Very Would love to do a euro road trip. How gutted are ya about the battle scars ? That would grit my Sh*t. Stang looks good, even better with dirty wheels Just suits the colour of the car and the dark accents better.
  3. Nissan! ? You must be made of money. The forum is here to help you...use us. edit - Unless you bought it from nissan and its under warranty.
  4. Wow. That is some set up Chris! Literally another bungalow in the garden just for cars So, is that Epoxy on your floor? I remember you said you used it on Zed shed 1 after getting some cheap from some geezer. That's a large floor area, did you get a cheap deal somewhere? any recommendations etc?
  5. 10 years is pretty good! Do you use trolley jacks axle stands etc? I'm unsure whether there is a membrane underneath for damp, but the floor does appear to be dry all the time and dusty as fook. I would of course sweep hoover, jet wash before doing anything as I'm sure its all in the prep. Yeah get ya pics up! Everyone likes a garage/mancave. Yeah this is a consideration, as I assume to keep them in place for cars driving over them and turning steering wheel they will have to be glued down. Not sure how difficult they would be to pull up after. I don't intend on spilling fluids regularly as I have plenty of my wife's ruined washing up bows to catch fluids but inevitably it will happen. I didn't say thermal properties I was comparing it to a single skin of timber cladding (which it was) that was quite drafty. It actually surprised me how much 'warmer' it is in there now! I had carpet tiles at one point , they do soak up the damp and can go mouldy , everything sticks to them and they can even make the garage smell funky Why not for now just paint the floor with floor paint, screwfix do some stuff cheap enough and if you do go tile or carpet having it painted will make laying them easier Not sure I would suffer mould as the garage is quite airy being timber and plenty of gaps around the doors etc Good point about the stuff sticking to it! This is a consideration for me as I do do the occasional bit of woodwork in there so wouldn't want it full of shavings that I couldn't get off. A friend of mine who has carpet tiles reckons that his hoovers fine and he's not had an issue even with sawdust ? Hmm The reason I'm dubious about using a cheaper garage floor paint like the screwfix one, is if it doesn't adhere properly and I decide to go with epoxy, I'd probably have the hassle of having to remove all the paint or the epoxy would end up lifting. I wish I could go with a rubber floor, but can't believe how expensive that stuff is! It's ridiculous! Decisions ....
  6. THREAD RESURRECTION! So following on from this..... I finally got round to doing something.. The first thing I had to deal with was the fact that I couldn't get a car in the garage without the use of lots of scaffold boards due to a ridiculous level change on the drive....and the fact it looked like a pikey site So a few tonnes of Carstone.. LOTS of shoveling, raking and the use of a hired wacker plate ... Then a few Tonne of gravel, MORE shoveling, raking and more time on the whackerplate... Could finally get the car in and out! Now for inside...... I decided to line the walls with 11mm OSB board for warmth, strength and so I could just screw sh*t to it wherever I needed to without too much worry. Lick of paint Then to board the ceiling. This is very hard to do on your own with 8x4 sheets of OSB balanced on your head on the worlds most flimsy step ladder! But got there in the end. A hatch for roof storage.. And some more paint Re-wired the electrics so I've got more lights and LOADS of sockets.. A workbench with vice and sink, (this now has water and taps) And this is what I'm currently left with.... Now I've got to decide on the flooring. I was 99% gonna go with an epoxy resin, but I need to keep costs down. The floor is 50m2 so all options are expensive. I've found a dealer on ebay that has good reviews and I could get enough resin to do it for about £150. But with thinners and etching stuff it goes above £200 easy as there is some oil stains etc... but I would love it to look neat and tidy. I'm just scared that I'll spend the time and money doing it and get annoyed if it chips or starts to lift. I'm now leaning towards using used carpet tiles. Cheap (about £100), tidy-ish, warm to lay on, easy to replace etc. Also I'm thinking that it would make a good room for parties etc (with a few disco lights and a bar ) and carpet will make it feel more like a room and less like a garage. Any thoughts/experience on the floor?
  7. Glad to see proper progress Ian. You must be well pleased to be nearing the end! Would love to hear the V8 before it leaves Norfolk. When is it due be leaving Emerald ?
  8. I can't see the video as I'm at work, but echo what they guys above have said. Always liked your car (and avatar ) especially the wheels and bonnet. In fact when you had your wheels refurbished it inspired be to finally get mine done and I followed your recommendation for Wheel Genie to carry out the work. I haven't been around much this year after selling my Zed, but am finding myself looking more often again, as other forums are just not the same, so I'm sure you'll hang around.
  9. I absolutely LOVED my S/C'd Zed. I sold it after 5 years only because I had the opportunity/cash to get something a bit special. When I was looking around at potential replacements there was nothing for less than £20k that I would rather have than my Zed. It had to be Aston/Maserati/GT-R territory or I would have rather just kept it. If the time ever comes that I have to sell my GT-R and down grade for financial reasons or the like, I worry that all I will want is my Zed back ....Or maybe a s/c'd 370... Anyway, I appreciate your predicament. It seems you love your zed. If your like me and find all the German stuff totally uninspiring and the evo/scooby 4wd scene not your thing, than I don't think you'd regret Supercharging your zed. Don't get me wrong, even at 450hp they are not the fastest thing around, but fast enough. They are a very well balanced, capable and rewarding drive that will see off a lot of other cars its age, still manage to be comfortable for a daily driver and still look good and sporty! I know what I'd do.
  10. Good choice sir! Awesome motors eh? As said above though, I've found the GT-R forums are comparatively poor as most GT-R stuff seems to be via social media, which I don't really do much of. I'm gonna find myself spending more time on here again I think.
  11. Do you shop at Tesco? If so, you can use club card points for RAC. I think we use about £70-£80 worth of vouchers each year for family cover at highest level (not including europe cover) Works out very good value.
  12. Looking good Nino. How much was it to re-do the red parts of he seats? and where did you get it done? I was thinking about doing mine myself, but worried about the colour match.
  13. As everyone has said, he is speaking a load of tosh. Turning the TC off was the first thing I done every time I got in the car for 6 years. No issues at all.
  14. Another vote for plastidip. As said above have a look on youtube for how to, its pretty easy. This is when I did mine - http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/68520-plastidipped-front-lip/page__mode__show
  15. Clear wrap for the win! Because keeping it red is the BEST option.
  16. Bump. Just had a garage sort out. Still got this.
  17. Bump. Just had a garage sort out. Cheap, still got these.
  18. Bump. Just had a garage sort out. Open to offers on the 3.12" Pulley.
  19. Sorry for not updating the thread, this has long gone. :-)
  20. That is normal on the 350. For some reason Bank 1 sensor voltage is always about about 50% of bank 2. When fault finding, I found it easier to look at the Bank 1 vs Bank 2 Fuel trims. This will show you if one bank is running richer/leaner than the other and trying to compensate.
