Had a 370Z brought to us with a Stillen bolt on Supercharger kit already fitted the car also had a full Stillen exhaust fitted (stock cats) Stillen oil and gear box cooler (Auto car) The tune in the car when it arrived was far to rich and it was removing timing due to picking up detonation; Took sometime to tune the car but after sometime on the Dynapack all was okay; By abbeymotorsport at 2012-09-19 By abbeymotorsport at 2012-09-19 By abbeymotorsport at 2012-09-19 The Stillen kit gives the same sort of bhp numbers to the GTM Stage 1 kit we have fitted but the torque is down , maybe due to the Auto and the way the auto's need tuning, but the car drive very nicely very strong at high RPM and drives like a stock car in traffic. Nice conversion.

HR has tubular manifolds as stock which I am afraid flow real well , we have fitted a few sets of HR manifolds to DE motors with good results. We only fit these thou when we have the motor out for some work. Too much trouble to do with the motor in for the gains. I very much doubt your see a 10 to 15 bhp gain from a manifold change , the main restriction on the Zed exhaust set up is the stock Cats , running HFC helps a little with flow but running Decats give the best flow but can be noisy on some exhausts , the Milltek works well with de-cats thou on the 350Zed. We have been told about some other headers that do work but they remove the ability to fit cats to the car thou, they are made by http://www.ppeengineering.com/ Got some RHD stock header being shipped out to them to get them to jig up for RHD cars. I do feel you may see the steering column fouling on the RH header thou.

MILLTEK full exhaust system/Uprev deals
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
Will you know you want a 370Z system..... -
With the news that Milltek have finally developed a full system for the 370Z Abbey are going to be offering a deal on a full exhaust for the 350 and 370Z cars with a UPREV remap and HKS drop in Panel filters. 370Z Full NON resonated exhaust system inc Y pipe + Dyno tuned Uprev re-map HKS drop in Panel filters package price £1473.70 inc vat (Manual/Auto) 350Z full exhaust system inc Y pipe + dyno tuned Uprev re-map HKS drop in panel filter package price £1236.80 inc vat http://www.millteksport.com/ I have dyno plots for the Milltek system and Uprev on HR and DE 350Z cars , Will get these posted up early next week but normally seen gains of 10/15bhp and 10/15lb/ft torque with the above packages. Will get a 370Z on the dyno as soon as we see our 1st 370Z Milltek system in stock but I expect a gain of around 15+ bhp on the 370 system. any questions ask away.
-
Agree it is expensive job but the gains are very good. I feel that the 350 with a S/C is as good as a 911 (what model 911 you looking at)
-
I dont have any figures yet , Sam should do a tune next week. Also not got a price yet either but I know it will be higher than the single S/C kit on a 370Z that comes out over 12K I am afraid.
-
Had this link sent to me from Sam @ GT Motorsport , we have fitted a few of his S/C and TT kits to 350 and 370Z's and he thought we would like to see his latest kit for the 370Z; so who wants the 1st kit outside the US then!!!!!!

don't worry - not another 95/98 ron question
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to ioneabee's topic in 370z Technical
Japanese model US model and UK model cars all run a different ROM number/s , the difference is the ignition map so they tune all the car for the different fuel supply in the country. -

no 98 octane fuel wont show any signs of detonation (google detonation) running 95 cause detonation so the ECU trims timing, -

no it doesn't have a flex fuel device to know what fuel is being drunk by the motor , it will retard timing when hearing knock from lower octane fuel. -

anything 97octane upwards. -

once you turn the car off it will revert to stock timing , so when running it will pull timing until it hears no knock and when you then turn the car back off it will reset the ignition timing map back to stock. (no retarding to compensate for the 95 octane fuel) -

Neil, yes I feel it will be a worth while investment. If you want to run dual lambda's you either need to run a S8 ECU or run dual widebands to feed into a S6 ecu, the S6 can only take a single lambda input, but I would be happy just using a single lambda in the odd cylinder bank (this is the bank that runs leanest we have found) The knock control is awesome the traction control brilliant , the only downside that some people may say is cruise wont work but the price/spec of this ECU I feel the customer will not be interested in cruise anyway, the cruise switch can be used to switch calibrations thou. Just waiting for my S6 to be delivered. -
Rebuilding the gearboxes isn't cheap , especially if it need s a couple of synchro's and a bearing or 2, but buying a S/H ( pre-owned) gearbox you maybe in the same position in a short time or straight away. Rebuild the gearbox you know it will be spot on and your have a piece of mind. I would need to study the part listing on the gearboxes to see what the difference is between the late and early gearboxes. It is a hard job to estimate a cost to rebuild your gearbox until we have stripped your gearbox.
-
What's the issue with yours? Synchro's or noisy?
-
We can rebuild your gearbox for you.

95ron fuel & engine malfunction light

We was running the Syvecs a few weeks ago on the dynapack , just waiting for some firmware updates before we go my 350 back on the dyno to finish a few things off like the traction control. -
95ron fuel & engine malfunction light

the engine that failed had been run on unleaded prior to arriving with us @ Abbey, seems it had had been run hard while running unleaded fuel , the early cars the DE and Rev Up motors only have knock control to around 5100rpm By abbeymotorsport at 2012-09-10 the knock control when the car hears knock(detonation) reverts to a retarded ignition map this is reset when the ignition is turned off and back on. The ignition isn't long termed adjusted ( By this I mean it wont remove ignition timing and keep this amount removed from the map) Neil , do you have the new Haltech fully standalone ECU or the older Haltech that has to runt he stock ECU as piggy back? I thought only the newer Haltech had knock control? The 370Z does have better knock control but running unleaded will loose a lot more BHP than you think, the car is designed to run on 98 octane fuel running, the 370Z knock control is a better system than the 350 as the Gen 4 ECU is a lot more developed than the Gen 1_2 ECU (DE and Rev up) and the Gen 3 ECU (HR) it will adjust ignition timing all the time with regards knock but the car isn't multi-fuelled tuned like other modern cars. If I was going to run a 370Z on unleaded I would definitely have a few degrees timing pulled from the base ignition map so the car will tune to the unleaded fuel far quicker. The stock fuel map is very rich at full throttle so this isnt as much as a worry. Back the main question thou , the knock control wont flag a CEL on the Zeds I just think the car has flagged a fault while you been running unleaded, get the code read , seems as he car are getting older and the lambda'a re degrading we are seeing more CEL code for rear O2 lambd'a's -
Does that mean a jdm de 350z can have more If the car has cruise switches on the steering wheel yes. I thouhg JDM cars generally dont have cruise? If you got a steering wheel with cruise buttons on it is all the wiring ready at the back? Yes all the car have the wiring in the car looms we have founds , they will need are flash as strange it seems a car with cruise has a different ROM to a car with out cruise.
-
Eprom isn't removable from the ECU I am afraid, you could use a US or a JDM ECU with the corresponding Cruise control switch but your have to have the NATS turned off then to allow the car to run.

-
Afraid not UK de 350 Zeds can only have 1 map, the Eprom in these cars doesn't have enough capacity to take the whole Uprev patch that enables live tuning and multi maps.
-
UK DE 276bhp cars can't have multi maps I am afraid

Help. Please. One for CS, Jez, Abbey, Attkin666.
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to tez162003's topic in Brakes
Sounds like you still have air in the system , did you bleed 1 caliper @ a time? Modern cars you need to bleed a front and rear caliper at the same time as the brake system is split diagonal and to get the full movement on the brake pedal you need to open a front and rear caliper bleed nipple at the same time. Also when bleeding the brakes start with booth nipples open then once you getting no air from the outside nipple close this and carry on bleeding for a while then shut the inner nipple. You do need to use a bleed bottle with clear bleed pipes so you can see air bubbles in the fluid. -
We have a S/H set of HFC's , there where for a DE/REV UP car but have had the flanges changed to allow them to fit a HR, not been used on a F/I car. £150-00 inc vat + shipping. (these are S/H part so therefore are sold with no warranty)
