  1. I know it has just been serviced but does the car use oil?
  2. Cheers guys, We can supply Miltek Motordyne Invidia and HKS or other makes to order as well. I can do a good deal on both the exhaust and remap. send me a email to mark@abbeymotorsport.co.uk. Mark
  3. Sounds very heavy to me for a fuel damper,if you rev the engine does the noise follow the engine RPM?
  4. It wont be the compression rings causing the hassle it will be the oil control rings worn out. Running de cats high lights the issue normally , if yur running CATS these stop you seeing the oil being burnt.
  5. We seen this problem a few times as well , you cant get the ball joint to knock when levering on the ramp but once you drive the ca ryou get a knocking nois e, fit a new Compression arm and the noise goes.
  6. strange all the cars I have seen have had Sat Nav.
  7. I thought all the late HR Zed's had Sat Nav fitted; Even a base model car had Sat Nav I thought, I haven't seen a late model without Sat Nav. My god, theres a lot of confusion here. Sat Navs were always optional. On my 2007 HR 313 Roadster, it was an extra £1400 over list price to get the sat nav. If you had the sat nav on a 2007 car then it replaced the cubby hole and the sat nav was visible all the time. If you didnt have sat nav you had the cubby hole. When I was looking for my car, and even now if you look on autotrader at HR cars there are not many around with the sat nav. I think not many people figured spending £1400 on a sat nav seemed good value compared to a £70 TOM TOM. The interior of that car is definitely facelift. It looks identical to mine, bar mine has the sat nav. Same alloy trim on the knobs etc.. Not only that, its reg`d June 2007, which was when the HR`s first came out. Sure, there are earlier models late registered so just cos its 2007 doesnt mean its automatically an HR but its another tick in the "is it a 313" box. Also, if you check the number plate, it comes up with it being registered as an HR 313 model. Anything else? I think we can safely say this is an HR 313 model, and as per the Sherlock Holmes work on this thread must be cheaper than normal purely because its got a bit of a dubious insurance history. Learnt something today then re Sat Nav thanks, it comes up as a 313 car when I do a reg number check. Mark

  9. The early cars , DE and REV UP had the Sat Nav under the flip up cover. The late cars HR had the Sat Nav on view all the time. this is from the registration number; By abbeymotorsport at 2012-08-14
  10. It could be a Rev Up as Ian said but cant be a 313bhp car as per the bonett fitted. The HR car's had the Sat Nav on view?
  11. isn't even a 313 car , look at the dash in the interior pictures early car. Just got a 313 bonnet fitted on an early car.
  12. Wasso, you have de-cats fitted at the same time thou. Normally we find there isn't a difference in noise between stock Y pipe and after market Y pipe.
  13. Get a group of zed owners together and a dyno and we can work a deal out for me to fly over to tune the cars.
  14. Uprev add some software into the stock ECU when we 1st flash the ECU to allow us to tune your ECU , nothing is hard wired in and the can be put back to stock if needed. Piasini tuning require some soldiering on the circuit board to allow the map to be changed, normally a generic map that isnt tuned to your car. I dont know if it can be put back to stock either. Piggy back modifies the outputs from the stock ECU like E manage or F-con where as the Haltech outputs its own fuel and ignition signals but is using the stock ecu for a few other signals and to keep the car happy with regards can bus etc etc. We will soon have a proper stand alone after market ECU for the zed's will be on the dyno soon to start the development on this system with our own car.
  15. What did we do on your car GaryGTD? Nos will give you a gin like Wasso had fitted but the bottle runs out pretty quickly , good fro the drag strip but not on the road to be used all the time.
  16. does it still idle correctly Kev?
  17. the HR engined 350z doesn't have full time knock control like the 370Z I am afraid, without going to have a look I think they are only knock controlled up to around 5K. Get it on super unleaded ASAP is my answer.
  18. to have anything done or a tweak to the current loaded map your need to go back to RS Tuning , if you want any other tuner to tweak the map it will need to be remapped from scratch.
  19. Having a surf around found this , Tim is showing the guys a Zed can go pretty quickly By abbeymotorsport at 2012-07-28 drag strip times; By abbeymotorsport at 2012-07-28
  20. Cant find these codes; P0146, P0147, P0166 and P0167? so are you sure they are the correct codes? Are you running de-cats or HFC's? If so I would just turn the rear lambda's off that will stop any rear O2 codes being flagged up also turn off P0420/0430 catalyst efficiency codes ( these always throw CELS when the cats are removed or sometimes when HFC's are fitted) The P1283 code would need looking into thou , maybe have a look to see if the a difference bank to bank on the front O2 lambda voltages.
  21. presume you mean his code; By abbeymotorsport at 2012-07-26 This is normal when the lambda are starting to deteriorate or fail.
  22. You can turn off the any CEL using the Uprev software; By abbeymotorsport at 2012-07-24 This is a pretty rare code to see as Jez said before , normally means the car is starting to see a AFR that it shouldn't be seeing. By abbeymotorsport at 2012-07-24 This is the code you normally see when you fit De-cats or HFC's to a Zed, this is what people fit O2 spacers to to try and cure this CEL problem, spacers just keep the rear O2 sensors out of the exhaust gas so trying to stop the O2 sensor sniffing the exhaust gas. By abbeymotorsport at 2012-07-24 You do see this occasionally if the tune isnt spot on , i.e the front O2 sensor measures a AFR that is different to the AFR ratio in the AFR layout map like below; By abbeymotorsport at 2012-07-24 hope this helps.
  23. You could of only masked the problem, as Jez said it isn't the normal cat efficency CEL you get when you remove the CATS. Really needs the short term fuel trimming checked, it could be a front lambda detoriating or failing. I would not be happy with thinking that the O2 spacers have cured the problem.
