Loving blue cars at the moment. Especially Zeds! Welcome to the OC
-
That blue really sets off the beads!

Lots of nice beading photos being posted recently. Thought it'd be nice to give them a home of their own. I'll start off with some recent Ish pics 50:50 mix Sonax BSD and Chemical Guys V07 Hybrid Sealant used as a drying aid on a couple of non Zed cars

Often like you I end up having to wash the car at night. Being a considerate neighbour I'll not use a pressure washer at night. I'd normally spray a shampoo mix on as a prewash then 2bm wash. My current Sonax BSD cocktail works a treat with this and I can still see and feel the slickness when using the wash mitt and rinsing. However if it's more dirty I'll use a stronger prewash like Powermaxed Jetwash and Wax. This is fine with just a pressure rinse off, still leaving some good beading and slickness when using the wash mitt, but without a pressure rinse and going contact wash it'll totally strip my LSP. So I was intrigued by this new TW and it's detergent resistance. Like a numpty I washed the Zed on Friday and went autopilot using my old Sonax BSD cocktail instead of trying out the TW

Nice beads davey_83 for what amounts to an extra couple of mins to the drying stage and a fiver! I still remember using TW Wax it Wet when it first came out and was instantly hooked on using such drying aid type products. It's very rare I dry my car now without applying some product or another in a Wax it Wet kinda way. So in this respect I suppose months and months worth of durability isn't really what I need.

Welcome to the OC from a fellow orange owner. Loving the 370z rims on the 350z. Always said they seem to stand out more on the 350
-
It's either wishful thinking there Ekona or you've got the beers early this evening No such switch on the 350z ........ maybe on the 370?
-
Damn, no Wifi......just 5 channels of TV, anyone would think you're back in the 90s! Hope you get out soon

In case you didn't already know, there's a clip connector that just needs a gentle press to release the switch, no force needed. Also when inserting the new switch it can be twisted into place at varying depths so that the brake pedal activates the switch even with the lightest touch on the brakes. Sometimes if it's placed fully seated, when the brake pedal only travels a couple of mm it's not enough to activate the switch.

The zed may be going but hope you stick around.

Gotta love a good beading shot Is it just us blokes who like looking at photos of loads of rounded pert beauties?

Here's some in better light

A Brittax Evolva 123 fits snuggly in my Zed. Nice big head and side supports. My 10 yr old still fits in it for long journeys as she likes the headrest for sleeping

Oooooo.......white was my favourite but the black is also looking lush

Good point raised there Ponsonby I often relate beading with dirt repellency but maybe this is not the case! I must say I haven't used my C2v3 since last May . Will dig it out for another play following your post reminding me of it being tucked away.

Due to crap weather all I've done is wash my rims. Dried the front wheels with an electric blower so 95% dry. On passenger side sprayed and wiped on Sonax BSD as a drying aid to the face and lip. On the drivers side the TW as a drying aid. Nothing scientific as there was Optimum Optiseal placed 3 weeks ago. Will spray with Powermaxed Jetwash and Wax and power rinse off as a touchless wash every few days and see how it compares just for fun.

You're lucky to get one. Loads of people are getting emails apologising that there's no stock despite the system saying there was when they ordered. Sounds like there was a few hours of frenzied orders where the computer system couldn't keep up

Welcome to the OC. Another Cheshire member here

Best money saving tip so far is "your little helpers" I bet they work for peanuts..........or raisins and crisps

I've got gloss black wheels with diamond cut faces on my Kia. It's not just the protection you lay down but A VERY GENTLE wash technique that's needed. The wheels collect alot of coarse brake dust and dirt. You wouldn't go scrubbing that off your bodywork paint aggressively with a brush for fear of swirls. The wheels are the same. If not gentle when washing them, the gloss black finish will swirl up in no time.

Well the lights are on AGAIN. It's the all black switch above the brown/black cruise control switch. I replaced the brake light switch a few years ago wit an OEM Nissan one thinking it'll be premium quality and last. In 14 years ownership and 60k miles my second one has now failed. Not had this happen on any other car so I'm guessing the Nissan ones are a bit rubbish. So I spent just over a fiver on a generic one https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Nissan_350Z_3.5_2005/p/car-parts/electrical/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/car-switch-and-car-sensors/?464700040&1&9572e9ec83fab9414d1914b8c35be537361637ec&000415 With the frequent flash sales it can be had for a little over a fiver instead of £40-50 for a Nissan one! It's in and working. Even if it only lasts 5 years it's an easy enough fix but I wouldn't bother with a Nissan one guys.

Mine's arrived. Will test it side by side against Sonax BSD on a section of the Zed's rear bumper with repeated washes every few days
-
That's a "serious" rear end
