  1. Yep, my 350 did this too! Ruddy annoying. Only happened when playing CDs..radio was always fine. Im not very good with spanners so the excellent DIY guide wasn't much use to me. I ended up fixing it by buying a newer Zed
  2. Thanks for the replies guys! I've ordered two of each Falken 452: 245x35x19 and 275x35x19. After reading thru the forum, these are the correct sizes, right? A few people on this thread (and others elsewhere) have stated a 30 profile...but im almost certain mine currently run a 35 profile... Which is the Ni$$an/Nismo approved 'standard' tyre profile? Colin - thanks for the psi tip. I will try them with 35psi to start and if i notice any tyrewall flex i will increase the pressures a bit. Hopefully the lower 35 profile will mean little or no flex anyway, but i guess i will find out! I managed to get across to from Derbyshire to Tunstall (Stoke) the other night and back the next morning on my worn tyres.... it wasnt an enjoyable experience! Snow and slush and water + low tread = Driving Miss Daisy
  3. My rear tyres are pretty low on tread, fronts aren't much better. This is the first time I have changed the tyres on the new Zed - anyone had any problems with the larger 275 Falkens? Are they as decent as they were for the 18" RAYS ? Currently it's running the pricier Toyo Proxies. I've been quoted £720 (including VAT and fitting) by my local Notts fitting centre. (Falken 452 - 245x35x19 and 275x35x19) Sounds pretty good. I think Camskill comes in at 620 quid for the Falken's delivered, and at 10-15 quid a corner to fit thats not far off the fitters overall price. Unless anyone has had nightmares with the larger Falken's on the 19" Nismos compared to the 18" RAYS, I think im gonna punt for these early next week...?
  4. Avoid the Zed. Still too pricey for the income you have spare, and it will eat you out of existence if it needs anything other than a basic service (even a full P3 with diff and brake fluids at a specialist will hit you for 400 quid+) Instead, take the approach to RWD fun that i did. But an S14a. Many people on here are here because thay ran a 200sx before the Zed. The S14a is stupidly cheap to buy now and stupidly cheap to modify and service compared to the Zed. You will get a great feel for RWD sillyness and (if you dont wrap it round the first tree you see like i nearly did all those years ago) you will end up wanting a more refined car in a few years. Cue the 350z Apex Performace and the folks over on the SXOC are great. If it hadn't been for my 200sx i wouldn't be on here now. I'd probabaly have a Scooby or Fast Ford - or something equally fast and common
  5. What can i say? She was doing a tonne when she came past me... so i naturallly followed thinking she was one of you lot I didnt realise the 'real' convoy was pootling waaaay behind me lol I think Shire caught me up quickly, then we slowed a lot to let the rest of you catch up with us
  6. Looks like your pics are up on the Trackside website: http://tracksideimage.com/trackdayphoto ... &clr=Black
  7. Ken/Rothers - can one of you PM me closer to the time. I'll meet up wth you at a Services on the M1 (assuming you will come past J26 near myself en-route to the Megs place?) Ta
  8. 1) Envy Valeting 2) cmck13 3) Rothers2901 4) Rothers2901's +1 5) Shire350Z 5) S1an1de + 1 [unfortunately in a blue VXR] 6) S1an1de's +1 [unfortunately in a blue VXR] 7) Ken 8) Haytonz 9) Andyvvc (and possible +1)
  9. Now that is SHINY Rothers! Very nice mate! What did you use to get that finish?
  10. ^^^^Kept that quiet. Looking good Andy. It was at Wales.... i just didnt rev the n00ts off it
  11. Thanks for the comments all. It's thoroughly knackering doing all the polishing etc without a machine, but the results were great. Should mean it looks good the next few times i wash it too..... I've got some Megs Quick wax spray to use after the next 4-5 washes to try to keep the wax topped up. Slimjim - it's the Greddy Spectrum Elite exhaust i got from Tarmac. A little pricey, but cheap compared to a 5zigen or a titanium backbox It sounds great under load too
  12. I had some spare time (3 hours!) on Sunday so decided to get stuck in for the first time since pre-Wales in May Full rinse Autoglym Car Shampoo Meguiar's Clay bar Meguiar's Deep Crystal polish Meguiar's Gold Class wax LOTS of terry towels from Asda I even got a toothbrush into the more awkward parts of the calipers, front grill etc. I think the results are pretty good (and the pics are all without any bright direct sunlight - its been overcast since i did the work doh). Im going to sort the tyres out tonight when i get hold of some decent tyre-shine gel.
  13. Not just 20 bhp http://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-driv ... mbers.html I have gone from a DE (276 bhp) to a HR (313bhp) engine, I would never go back. You also get 1000 more revs to play with as well. In my humble opinion, save/wait for the HR. The Half-way house is to do what i did, and use the money you'd spend on an HR to get a nice DE and spend a few grand tuning it. Admittedly it's still only 307bhp instead of 313, but the torque delivery is now in another league, and you get the soundtrack of the Milltek/Berks combo as well which more than makes up for the 6bhp DB It's true - i got my 53 plate DE sorted with a plenum, intake, exhaust and UpRev. It ran as quick-as-dammit as my newer HR Zed does. Make sure your Zed has lighter alloys (RAYS) or the 19" Nismo's and you reduce corner weight. Get the suspension lowered slightly with some Tein S or similar and the Zed is a weapon around corners etc, and will happily accelerate smoothly thru to the redline on a straight. So to recap: DE with mods HR or a 370z I think they are your options in terms of power lol
  14. Black 57 plate, most mornings in Nottingham near the Nuthall Roundabout, leaving the A610 towards Bulwell. Im sure its has owners club stickers in the quarter-panel windows! Usualy see it while being driven to work in Lydia's green Mini Cooper/chequerboard roof and white strips
  15. The back-box 350z version is fitted to my HR 350z. With the Stillen Y-Pipe it sounds on WOT. Nice and quite when taking it easy aswell unlike some exhausts. And there isn't any resonance noise at certain points in the rev range either. Love it. The 370 unit looks even better than mine
  16. Excuse the state of the rear bumper in the Greddy shot....
  17. Found this on Nissan's USA site: http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/TSB/TSB_ ... sbType=TSB It seems to list a lot of newer TSBs that the 350z-tech site doesnt have listed. Apologies if this is a repost!

    350 to 370

Here ya go: viewtopic.php?f=70&t=45396 (From Jan 2011) I've since sold my DE Zed and got an HR engined one. Also, since writing this mini review i've had the 'pleasure' of trying to keep up with "Chris I" across a lot of Welsh B roads during the May Wales trip.....the flappy-paddle doo-hickey clearly has its benefits! Couldn't catch the bugger lol
  19. I'm on my second Zed - this one is an 07 plate with HR engine. I've changed the back box (Greddy Spectrum Elite) and the Y pipe (Stillen). After they bedded in, the noise is great! Quiet at low revs/town/cold starts, awesome exhaust note on WOT when accelerating viewtopic.php?f=62&t=49115 I really need to get a decent drive-by-video of the exhaust posted up. I'll have to try and sort that over the Bank Holiday.
  20. Did someone say "Greddy Spectrum Elite" ? viewtopic.php?f=62&t=49115 After about 2000miles the Greddy and the Stillen Y-Pipe are bedded in and sound fooking awesome on WOT! Nice and quiet pootling, but when you use the loud pedal the noise is GF was sat behind me in her Mini when i launched the Zed from some traffic lights on a dual carriageway - she flashed me twice! Got to our destination and i was bricking it thinking the car was smoking etc.....but apparently the flashing was to let me know the exhaust system sounds "gorgeous"
  21. This must be a Midnight-Blue thing....it drives me insane too being stuck behind an idiot who drives FAR too slowly in a higher-speed area, then drives at THE SAME SPEED when they enter a 30mph zone! (Typically in-excess of the limit!) Middle-lane hogs annoy me too. The M1 near me has FOUR LANES in both directions now....and guess what....people hog the FOURTH LANE doing 68mph People who fail to indicate - ever. This should be an instant driving ban in my opinion, no fooking excuse for not advising other motorists that you are about to puill-out on a motorway, or make a turn off from a roundabout etc. Drivers who think it is illegal to safely overtake them, and remonstrate with a middle-finger, or speed up and tail-gate you at 60mph after you pass them dawdling at 45mph. People who dont drive Zed's annoy me too...again, instant driving ban for anyone not in a Zed
  22. I'm only 5' 9"......... how the hell did you fit in/get in there ? With great difficulty! Managed to hop into the boot, half-straddle the rear strutbrace, and then somehow contort myself into a Zed-boot-shape so i could get to the two rear-quarter panel windows. I think i will be representing Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics: 350z based gymnastics
  23. Good to see everyone again on satdee! And special thanks to Mike for the club car-stickers. The Night Blue is now 100% official...(although i ended up in the boot on sundee morning with Lydia stood outside the car to get the position of the stickers spot on...... just as Chris predicted) We came back on sundee but sadly were a bit late. We passed Martin and the chap in the silver 370 en-route, and then passed Rothers and a few others. Assuming it was all over, we went shopping near Nottingham instead Hats off to all those involved in organising another successful Zed event
  24. I might end up shipping them, had a few PMs already. However, it isnt light and will probably cost an arm-and-a-leg to get thru the postal system I would still prefer pickup - Im only about 5 mins from J26 of the M1, Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire....
