  1. I put the bungs in the Nvidia last week, so now i can actually hear myself think I have noticed that on acceleration (doesnt matter how fast) there is a slight, quiet whine noise coming from somewhere, which increases in tone as speed increases. If i depress the clutch, it dissapears almost totally. The car runs twin Stillen intakes which was what i thought the noise was. TBH it could still be these because any noise they make will only occur under acceleration....and depressing the clutch stops that. The noise (inside the car) sounds like a very very very quite supercharger if that helps identify it? Does the HR engine tend to have a little more 'whine' noise than the older DE models? Its not a loud whine, and is only audible inside the car if you listen for it (if that makes sense)? Car is due for a P1 service so i might get the gearbox and diff oil changed anyway, cant hurt i guess. Any traders sell the gearbox/diff oil? Part numbers, cost and quantity for the HR model? Ta! MODS - move this thread to the Technical section if that's where it should live. Just realised ive stuck it in the General section, doh!
  2. ....£5.50 to get in for non National Trust members! I tried all the entrances but they had a bloke in a hut by each one, grrrrr!

  4. Spent a fair few hours over last weekend and today cleaning, clay barring, polishing and waxing the new Zed. So figured it was time to get some pics posted up!
  5. I dont suppose anyone knows if PowerFlex do any hangers for the Zed? Ive got a GReddy on order with Tarmac, but im pretty sure i will need new exhaust hangers to replace the current ones. Anyone know who stocks these, and if i need uprated/different hangers or if normal Ni$$an ones will be ok? I need to re-fit the OEM centre pipe, then the GReddy backbox. Cheers
  6. Nice one! Jez is going ahead with the TEIN order. Looking at Darren's pics, it looks spot on i reckon!
  7. Looks like Jez at Horsham Developments sells, fits and then laser aligns I'm booked in with him for he 27th. But im now wondering if i should get slightly different springs...? My car has standard springs and clearance to the arch is: 35mm front, 55mm rear. Seems to me i need to drop the front about 10mm, and the rears 15+ ? But the TEIN S are the other way around, 17mm drop front, 14mm rear... Any thoughts?
  8. Cheers Darren. Where did you buy them from? Any traders on here that sell these..? Ta
  9. Thanks all! Who sells the TEIN S Tech, and how much are they? (I assume these are just slightly smaller springs, not adjustable shocks/spring combos?)
  10. Im toying with the idea of lowering the new Zed ever so slightly. The last one was a 25mm drop all round on Eibachs, running standard 18" RAYS. New Zed is a HR model with 19" LMGT4's and stock springs...it does seem to pitch and roll a little in the corners compared to my last one! Ideally aim looking for a small drop of only 10 or maybe 15mm all round, to reduce the roll effect and gaps between the tyres and arches, whilst not compromsing all-round usability or preventing alignment from being correctly set. Are there any spring kits available that will drop the Zed by a small amount?
  11. Tarmac - you have (another, lol!) PM about the GReddy Is it just me, or can i not sleep this morning...?....04:18hrs doh
  12. Just. One. More. Sleep.
  13. One of the following might help, i had similar issues with my 53 plate years ago: 1 - clean the throttle body housing and butterfly valve (be gentle with it!) 2 - do the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) reset thingy 3 - clean the MAF sensor 4 - Refer Nissan (if under warranty) to steps 1, 2 and 3
  14. Sold mine on Sunday afternoon, agreed purchase of this one on Monday afternoon
  15. http://forums.**REMOVED**.com//index.p ... opic=28489 Couldn't resist it! Should be picking it up later this week/early next week. Are we allowed to say "**REMOVED**" on here...?
  16. Most likely going to be a 309 in Gunmetal with the bonnet buldge (yes, Peugeot made the 309 in gunmetal with a bonnet buldge)
  17. ^^^^ Cookbot helped to fix mine. He certainly knows what he is doing, so if he's local to you, worth sending him a PM.
  18. ^^^^^ read the bit in small print
  19. Mine stopped working (albeit over a few weeks, not suddenly). Ended up stuck in the up position. Have a search for my older thread (month ago i think). There is a link on there for door-card removal etc. I ended up getting Cookbot (techie guru) to take the door apart (easy) and remove the motor (easy) - it needed a damn good clean on the contact points of the bushes and motor. They were so dirty it stopped responding to the button presses. Can you till here a 'click' when you try to use the window? If so it still has power to the motor, but no response. Might need the reset procedure, or cleaning. Worst case, :pmr35lee: for a spare motor, far cheaper than Ni$$an !
  20. Ironically, after Cookbot re-sealed the lamp's faulty top-corner of the seal (and after we sealed the rubber 'O' ring on the new HID with grease), the lamp has been dry as a bone! Hopefully she will run for many more years - the new owner is in the forces and seems like a genuine bloke, so i have no concerns there. His current car is a Golf GTI, so provided he keeps the TC on in the Zed, the power difference shouldn't cause any off-road incidents. My old 200sx is STILL taxed according to the DVLA ! Here's hoping my old Zed remains so for many years to come. As i said, with some luck the lad will find his way onto this forum - so she'll still be in the family
  21. Mods - please lock the thread. The car is now sold. Thanks
  22. ...sold today to a lad based over in Shrewsbury. With luck he will get onto this great forum (i banged on about it enough to him) Hmmm ... decision time now. Do i get an RX8, or an S2000? Or maybe I'll get another Zed Hopefully I'll only be gone a week or so, surely it cant take that long to locate a decent 309bhp Zed..... or one of those 370s
  23. Massive thanks to Zmanalex and RTBiscuit for supplying new bits for me. New poppers, arch liner, 2x xenon bulbs and HID ballast are now in place and the passenger side xenon works again! Awesome, thanks fellas! Thanks also to Cookbot for using his decade of RAF techie knowledge to fit the new HID unit. We didnt know if there was any water ingress into the headlight, so we took it off...after first removing the wheel, arch liner, under tray and bumper lol Nissan knew how to make the xenon lamps a non-theft item Taking the old HID ballast off revealed the root cause of the problem - water ingress The old ballast was soaked! And there was water in the lamp too. This has been drained out as best we could, then everything re-fitted with the new parts....i have a working passenger side xenon now ! Kudos once again to the awesomness of this forum. Great knowledgebase, and some really great people who are happy to help out a spanner monkey like me Im slowly drying the lamp out with the gf's hair dryer (dont tell Lydia!) before i re-seal the crack at the top with some decent sealant. Hopefully it will then be perfectly ok. I did have to re-adjust the height of the beam quite a bit, but this is probably due to disconnecting the lamp unit earlier, or possibly the fact that the HID has been borked for a month and the lamp hasn't had any power to self-adjust. If the water ingress has dirtied the insides up too much - I'm sure i will be after a new passenger lamp :pmr35lee:

  25. *bump* - now advertised on AutoTrader too. Would rather sell her to a forum member/wannabee member. Also still happy to P/X + cash your way for a 309bhp Zed if anyone needs cash but still wants to run around in a well looked after 53 plate Zed?
