  1. Another pic - slightly cleaner. But its getting dark so the dark anthracite colouring isnt really visible, doh!
  2. A very dark colour - slightly more-so than i had envisioned, but it's an official Nissan paint code that the bloke was able to use, so if it gets chipped/kerbed i can touch it up easily enough. Popped out to get some fuel - had no end of looks from local Corsa drivers etc so the colour clearly makes the car look even more evil than it normally does Pic (dont worry i have since cleaned the tyres and put some Megs black tyre shine on them)

    100,000 miles

Nah, i bought the car at 61k miles. So i have only done 40k miles in just over two years. But it still felt odd as the clock ticked up to 100000
  4. ^^^^ Yep, do lots of research on the 996 engine before you even *think* of buying one! Zentrum Porsche (indy specialists) in Calverton, Notts are very good to chat to. 996 engine isnt totally un-reliable, but if it decides to go pop it will cost $$$$ Isn't Marzman an anagram of "Going to buy a 370 next" ?
  5. Take it easy fella. Im sure you will be back soon enough!

    100,000 miles

Just rolled over 100,000 miles. Doc, can i ask you: when you hit 100k did that secret compartment open up in the passenger side dash to reveal the small bottle of champagne and two small glasses? Very nice touch from Nissan if you ask me. Such a shame that very few other Zed owners will experience this
  7. So i guess i have at least another 74000 miles left in her then ? Im still contemplating an Abbey UpRev flash as a 100000 mile present, to compliment the intake, plenum spacer and uprated exhaust system. I'll try to stick a pic up tonight of the clock (no access at work to import camera phone pics)
  8. *phew* It looks like after your odometer reads '99999' you end up with an extra digit on the LCD clock! Get in 100000 and counting
  9. Booked for May 17th to have refurb done (decided on TVR dark anthracite colour which should suit the blade silver Zed). Also got the local dent repair guy coming over same day to sort drivers door dent out. Car should look good-as-new for the Wales run.....despite having 99764 miles on the clock
  10. I think the bloke said 50 quid a wheel. Might have been 60. Full refurb in colour of my choice...anthracite sounds good tbh. I may be able to knock him down cost-wise. He's the local franchisee for ChipsAway, with a bit of luck the quote he gives me will be more of a guide price than set-in-stone. And with luck the scratches on the door can be polished out or touched up. Black RAYS sound too....common
  11. Im going to get my RAYS refurb'd soon. Fella from ChipsAway is coming out on Friday to assess the cost. Also hoping to get some scratches on the drivers side door and a dent fixed too. The same bloke sorted the rust spot at the front-tip of one of my wings months ago and did an excellent job. Hopefully this isn't gonna cost that much, maybe sub £250 if i can wangle it Has anyone had the standard 18" RAYS refurb'd in a different colour? I was thinking about a darker silver, or maybe anthracite so they stand out a little more from my silver Zed?

    Mileage

lol - mine's a 2003 too.... you have a LOT of mileage left in her yet. At nearly 100k mine still pulls as well as it ever did. I still scare 911 owners and make M3 drivers realise that they *will* have to make an effort

    Mileage

Mine is a daily driver (when i can't be arsed with the train into work). Shopping car. Weekend Warrior. Motorway Muncher etc Owned for a little over 25 months, put on 38k miles. I did my usual weekend wash today, but after the clay bar i used some AutoGlym Polish....bugger me, the car looks 'wet' all the time now, the shine is almost showroom ! You really cant tell she has travelled 99164 miles...
  14. Sorry Martin, couldn't resist lol Main thing is your roof is working again, and with luck someone can add an extra line to the ECU Reset sticky, stating that it might be of use to soft-top problems too
  15. I did an ECU reset on my Coupe last night - i'll be damed if i can get the roof to go up or down though. You must have got lucky Martin
  16. Have you tried the Key Fob reset procedure? If you do try it, you need to sync BOTH KEYS in the same procedure cycle. I didnt first time, and then my main key worked again (after a new battery) but my spare stopped working doh! When i sync'd BOTH keys in the same go, they both worked fine. Seems that doing a sync on one key only will stop the other from working. There is a decent guide to key fob sync on this forum iirc. Its what i used last year when my fob battery died.
  17. I'm just shy of 99,000 miles. Train. Pulls like. Still.
  18. ^^^^ That's the thread
  19. The worst i had was 5.6mpg on a track handling day. (Slalom cones etc). The best has been 42mpg sat at about 58mph heading south on the M1. Sixth, cruise control on. Reset trip computer. Checked it again about 40 miles later when i pulled off the M1 - i was pretty stunned actually! Good job the M1 was congested and 58mph was about as fast as anyone was going
  20. I had the 'geiger counter' clicking noise in mine. Typically on WOT above 4k rpm. Didnt always happen. Sometimes never happened. Drove me insane as it sounded tappity/engine related and had been going on for 20,000 miles! I stumbled on a thread on the US forum and then an older thread on here. Apparently there is a solenoid valve in the heater matrix/cooling system that can get clogged with crap - it flicks open/closed really quickly with an electronic microswitch kinda tappity noise. I ended up getting the coolant replaced along with some other work at Nissan. Got them to "back-flush the heater matrix and core" as per the old thread, and it seems to have sorted my tappity noise ! Now i think i can occasionally hear the exhaust gaskets blowing from the manifold area....i think. Kinda fart-like noise occasionally. Find and fix one rattle - another will rise to take it's place
  21. Only down the road from us, guess we will be thee too ! 1/ martinmac if I have to walk there. 2/ SunGodRA - need to confirm, might be in Mexico then 3/ Muddy (sat) 4/ Scott 5/ ATTAK Z 6/ MadMarky 7/ Patman 8/ Greekman -if i dont forget about it until then lol 9/ Smudge (if life gets better and I get a job by then) 10/ Chris`I (TBC) 11/ Harman350z 12/ Shire (sunday) 13/ M13KYF (sat) 14/ Lincolnbaggie 15/ DontPanic (Dave - Probably Sat & Sunday morning) 16/ Gibby 17/ Ian.Lewkowicz 18/ Chesterfield 19/ Nurrish (hopefully one of the days) 20/ Jak (TBC) 21/ Caroline 22/ Quicksilver 23/ Andy v v c
  22. I get the occasional hoodie wearing yoofs flicking me a 'gun' sign as i drive past them on my way out of Notts. At first i thought this was somekind of gang-sign and they were suggesting i was in somekind of trouble......then it clicked that they wanted me to 'gun' the engine. Clutch in - right foot down - thumbs up all round
  23. Mine wore on the inside - it ended up being toe-out. Notts Laser Alignment got it on their rig and the cars toe settings were way out. All sorted now. Needed new fronts though because they had worn that much on the inner edge - the rest of the tyre had 3mm+ of tread grr! Potholes i reckon
  24. I did end up paying £108 ! Amazing! 70 quid labour, plus the rest to cover brake and coolant fluid. I supplied oils from OpieOils for the engine and gearbox. Also supplied the filter. Very impressed! I was asked to wait 40 minutes when i went to get the car, because the workshop lads were running the car up after putting the coolant in (to check for air blocks i guess). Apparently they were a bit behind schedule because they had problems fitting a Nissan Tracker to a new 370z that was due for delivery that day. Good excuse i guess
