  1. Car has been in for MOT and oil/filter change today. I have a bloke from Yorkshire and a bloke from London showing real interest in the car, and also the usual dozen or so wannabes calling and offering 7k etc!
  2. Just realised that the price on here didnt match Autotrader and Pistonheads - edited to correct the mistake. I've had four calls already this week about the car, with two chaps coming to see it at the weekend. Sadly, none of them are from this forum. Is there nobody out there in 350z UK land that is interested? A second Zed for the missus perhaps ?
  3. Now advertised back on Pistonheads and Autotrader. Gutted....more about having to sell the car than actually losing my job.
  4. Cheers fella! Last month i still had a job... lol ! Now needs must etc. She's the best car i've owned. I've just gotta hope i can find work early next year and then get back into the Zed way
  5. *BUMP* - came back from holiday last week to be greeted with a letter stating i am being made redundant....after nearly 9 years with the company The Zed now has to go. It will be re-advertised on Pistonheads and Autotrader next week. It'd be great to get it sold thru the owners club if possible, so it stays "in the family", so to speak. I'm still coming to terms with the job shock. I have a few months left then im out around Christmas time, so im not rushing to shift the car for silly money - it may even go to a trader in a month or so. At this stage, it looks like i might be going back to a 200SX as a cheaper alternative to fast Nissan motoring...at least until i get a new job. Then i can look at another Zed. Or a faster 200SX lol Cheers
  6. I'm due to put a deposit on a 55 plate Zed next weekend, so it would be nice to have my old one shifted before then. Two Zed's on my drive would just be geedy
  7. lol - looks like the word "Nissanspo r t z" got "DELETED" from my post I never realised there was any rivalry!
  8. [EDIT] - price dropped after two sales fell though thanks to timewasters *and* I am now being made redundant --- £8995. Well, I'm finally doing it. After 18 months of ownership (and several **REMOVED** and 350z.co.uk meets later) my beloved Zed is going up for sale. . . below is the blurb from my Pistonheads ad, so apologies in advance if it reads like im pitching it to a layman. Im still not sure what im after to replace her. Another Zed, M3, S2000.... feel free to chip in if the ad/price seems too high/low. It would be nice to see the car go to a member of one of the Nissan clubs, or at least get sold thru here to someone who is seriously looking for a Zed not just flicking thru this weeks Autotrader in the barbers lol Pics in link: http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1181667.htm ***** My Zed was bought with 61k on the clock in Feb 2008. It now has 90k and in true Nissan style she still pulls like she did when i bought her. The car has had regular (every 5k) oil changes, and had the coolant and brake fluid changed after 6 months of ownership. She has been serviced and upgraded very regularly despite being a normally aspirated engine which Nissan state needs oil changes only every 9k or so ! Spec: 350z in blade silver Full GT pack (black leather, BOSE, SatNav, cruise, Xenons, full electric pack, ESP, heated seats) RAYS 18" alloys Eibach Sport springs (lowered 20mm all round)* Camber correctly set * New shocks fitted at same time as springs last year* Eibach Hubcentric spacers* (20mm) to sit the alloys in the arches properly (standard Zed looks terrible imho without spacers) Motordyne Plenum spacer Colder Denso spark plugs K&N Typhoon carbon intake Cobra stainless exhaust system (louder than OEM exhaust - produces a nice V6 growl) Uprated Y Pipe Brembo calipers Ferodo DS2500 pads front SSS pads rear Drilled and Grooved EBC Discs front Toyo Proxies T1-R all round (4mm tread front, 5mm + rear) Dynamat sound deadening in the boot floor. 2x Keys Loose anti-rollbar link replaced last year (common fault) Original 350z DVD material and leather wallet file ! Front bumper has had a full re-spray to remove the dreaded 350z bumper stone-chips. Tax and MOT until next year (£210 renewal for the year NOT 400 quid plus like newer Zeds) 276bhp engine - probably pushing 285bhp+ now. Will average nearly 40mpg at 60 in 6th on motorway. I get 23-25mpg around town with some fast-road driving in there too. * = fitted at East Shore Racing in 2008 The car is priced to sell, having had over 2k of sensible mods to enhance the look, sound and power. Any inspection welcome. Bad points: front alloys are scuffed thanks to previous owner. Small rust spot on tip of front wing (Chips Away repair required thats all). Drivers side door-sill kick plate has been bent a little where a mechanic caught his foot on it (cosmetic interior kick plate only - again a simple fix if desired) *****
  9. Next silly question (probably answered already) do the wheels and tyre combo's come pre-balanced, ready to fit and go?
  10. Are these available in the Bronze shade too? I'm thinking Silver Zed with Bronze GTR's might look pretty good !
  11. Macacaman you star ! Thats the one! Im now armed with the "Fuel Damper TSB" and info on the backflush valve thingy Tenner says Nissan tell me i need a new engine despite helping them with these two pointers lol
  12. Where are you based Brett? My Zed will be up for sale very soon. I'm looking at possibly an M3 or a newer Zed (313ps model). The Zed is the best all-round sports car i have owned. Great cabin, great power, great looks, lots of good styling mods available for it etc. Also - it turns heads, but never in a negative "look at that to$$er" kind of way
  13. This has been annoying me since i bought the car back in Jan 08 ! Basically, about one in five times when i accelerate hard in 3rd or 4th, i can hear a light tapping/clicking noise from behind the facia of the dash, or maybe in the engine bay of the car. Its almost as if something is loose and tapping under vibration... I can't believe this is a tappit lifter/cambucket issue. The engine sounds sweet as a nut at idle, and the noise under acceleration when it does happen isn't loud - its barely audible inside the car and not at all outside. (Drive by tests with mates on footpath listening) I have located Tech bulletin NTB06-042 which suggests the fuel damper hose could be a culprit (albeit the TSB states this noise occurs at idle). The car is in for an oil and filter change next week - i might as well get the lads at Nissan to have a triple check under the bonnet. Any ideas what it might be? I seem to recall someone having an issue similar to this, and the fix was to get the aircon re-circ flushed out (or something like that?). I'll be damned if i can find the post though. I'll also be damned if i can find the source of this tapping noise Any thoughts appreciated Car is a 2003 GT Spec UK model.
  14. Brilliant ! My fob battery died the other day. Bought a new battery but it still didnt work. So a quick search on the 350z site reveals the re-program guide. Worked first time ! Just make sure you take the (now registered) key out and insert your spare and then hold the unlock button on that while then presing lock 3 times. Both keys are now registered to the car Cheers 350z-uk!!!
  15. Cheeky question - anyone living near Notts/Derby with a 309bhp Zed? If i pop over in my older Zed, could i blag a short drive out as a passenger in the 309bhp version? Happy to pay for fuel I am tempted to get one *if* I can find one at a good price.
  16. Well, after 1.5 years of trouble free motoring, the time may have come for me to get rid of the Zed. Although i was always happy with the build quality and the 'kudos' of driving a Zed (hardly ever see one, get flashed by other owners etc), i was always a little disappointed with the power. My old 200sx was "very fast" whereas the Zed is just "fast" I made the tragic mistake of test driving two Imperza STI's and an M3 a few weeks ago. The STI PPP spec Impreza (although it has a chav image) was stunning. Stupidly quick and the grip in the corners was unreal. The M3 was another league again - SMG gearbox set at "agressive" saw me screaming down the road. Much faster than the Zed. Shame again about the image that comes with a BMW... I'm trying to get a test drive on an 07 plate 309bhp Zed to see how far off the M3 the last Zed's were. Im running the 276bhp model so the extra oomph might see me sell the current Zed and buy a newer one Anyone out there with the last revision of the Zed who has perhaps owned an earlier model before that? How does it compare to earlier models in terms of power - any real difference? ...or maybe i will strip all the interior out of my Zed and go on a diet to save weight ?
  17. pfffff - heavy right foot at Prestwold Hall last year saw me manage 5.7mpg
  18. Very nice! Had a sit in the car that went up the hill twice. The car in pearl white on the Nissan stand was also awesome. My only concern would be the noise from the exhaust - almost silent lol ! I suspect that will be the first thing that serious UK buyers alter. I believe list price on these is £26k upwards? With the top-end spec costing a little over £31k. Nissan's advertising slogan at the Festival was "All balls, no badge" which i suspect is a cheeky nod at Porsche's Cayman ?
  19. Cheers guys ! At least with the Zed it doesn't pee the condensation out all over the exhaust down pipe lol !

  21. Please, someone re-assure me that the overflow for condensation from the aircon compressor is on the passenger side of the car, a little bit back from the front wheel. My car has started peeing out of a hole in the undercarriage at this point. The drips go thru the middle of a hole which seems to be there for that exact reason. Liquid is clear, no smell - all my coolant levels etc are ok. I only see the peeing after having had the aircon on. Or if the car has been parked for a few days after a long run with aircon and i move it a little. When i spotted this on my old 200SX the pipe from the condensor was directly over the path of the front exhaust downpipe - thus much noise, hissing and water left me having a heart attack when that first happened. Seems the Zed is a little more discrete ....this is the aircon condensor just peeing, right ?

  23. Cool ! I currently run the Brembo brakes (GT spec) with 20mm Eibach hubcentric spacers...will these be enough to clear the calipers though...? Also - pics of the rims on your car - were these with 25mm spacers fitted....? Im a little concerned about the rims sitting too far into the body with just my 20mm spacers.
  24. Quick question - what size tyre are these supposed to run? 30 or 35 profile maybe? 235/275 width? Im just wondering so i can check prices for Falken and Toyo etc. Ta EDIT - am i also right in thinking that 25.4mm = 1 inch. So currently my RAYS = 18 x 25.4mm + 90mm (45 profile) = 547.2mm total height of wheel plus tyre. Dare Hiro = 19 x 25.4mm + 70mm (assuming 35 profile tyre) = 552mm total height of wheel plus tyre. Am i way off here? Would a 35 profile be ok - Falken seem to do a nice range in the 452s.
  25. *MASSIVE* thanks to the organisers for sorting out a top event ! Great to meet so many 'virtual' Zed owners in the flesh at last. Weather wasnt too bad all-round. The sunshine at the lake was a nice contrast to the horizontal rain at the pub Cheers to Ken for the loan of the bucket and mop - and also for his faultless SatNav system Thanks also to the bloke with the blue soft-top and the 305mm rear tyres for also acting as a guide with Ken's car back to the hotel for me and Lydia lol (Im crap with names, sorry fella!) Shire - my gf now says i need a spoiler on the back of my car - thanks bud ! ChopTop - get it lowered and get some hubcentric spacers fitted. And then 2x pop chargers or K&N Typhoons can be fitted too! You know you want to! Chesterfield - did we pass you on the A50 past Brittania stadium on the way home? Looking forward to next year already
