    100,000 miles

97,500 miles on the clock for me now. Just treated her to a full (main) oil and fluid change at Nissan in Notts. Charged me £108 which was very reasonable. 70 quid labour, and the rest for the brake and coolant fluids. I supplied the oils myself from OpieOils - cost me about 90 quid delivered (engine, diff and gearbox). So for a shade under 200 quid all the essentials have been changed (except the rear diff - I have the oil for that but didnt think it wise to add that to an already busy Zed schedule for the local dealership!) Aside from a few rattles on the interior (trim related - some foam pads will sort them out WIGRTI) the car is as solid now as when i first bought it
  2. Cheers to CS for sorting delivery in super quick time! Also thanks to Zmanalex for his prompt reply too. Fitted at Nationwide for just 70 quid, and (seemingly) no problems. They look feckin awesome! Drilled and grooved like my EBC fronts. Sooo much better to look at than the old OEM sh1te...and less than half the price that Nissan quoted me for the OEM parts lol! As far as the old discs/pads were concerned, they were indeed mullered ! I'll get some pics up soon when i finally get to leave work. Old discs were bad, inside pads were...erm...bare Outside pads had meat on them though, so im just thankful that they seem to have metal wear indicators which alerted me to their imminent demise! Now all that is left is my Front 452s from Camskill and the car will be driveable again! Fingers crossed that parts start to fail a few months apart next time around...and NOT in the same month as my insurance premium is due EDIT - i would have got ian-r to sort the brakes, but they needed doing asap they were that bad. But if anyone else in the Notts area needs work doing on their Zed....try dropping him a PM
  3. I will have to live with the 452s. This month the car has cost me almost 1400 quid (4x new tyres, full service due, new rear discs and pads, yearly insurance renewal). I couldnt afford to go with the Vred's or Toyo's again anyway Its all just come at once this time round - normally i get lucky and things break over the course of a year, not in the same chuffin month as my premium is due lol
  4. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS!!!! Ordered 2x 225/45/R18 from Camskill for 185 quid delivered! Fantastic, thanks fellas! Tyre place in Notts has already agreed to fit them if i can source them before they get deliveries late-March. If all goes well next week, i will have: 2x new front tyres fitted 2x new rear discs and pads (EBC grooved and ds2500s) full oil and fluid service at Nissan in Notts with the decent OpieOils forum recommended fluids (already had 2x rear tyres fitted) I might drive up to Scotland and back next weekend, just because i can
  5. Set of FOUR rays second hand on eBay/350z forums = 300-500 quid depending on quality of the alloys and tyres. So not that much...and you can probably pick one alloy up from a seller for not much at all if someone is willing to split a set to help you out. As Martin says, it might even be repairable, so cheaper still!
  6. Battery. Mine died after a few months of buying the car. New 65 quid battery from MotorParts and hey presto, starts first time.
  7. I bet mine look just as bad mate. I'll get Nationwide to give me the inner-pads so i can post some pics up. Think mine have done 15k+ but they have been running against older OEM discs which probably hasnt helped them
  8. 285 delivered for the two EBC grooved rear discs and the ds2500 pads. Nissan/Nationwide quote 220+ PER DISC lol Highway robbery, and they only supply OEM.
  9. The EBC grooved discs and ds2500 pads are on order from CS. Top service from CS by the way. Parts should be at my work address monday morning, ready for the car to go into Nationwide on Tuesday. Then she is in at Nissan on Thursday for all the oils and coolant change. And i then need two new Falken 452s on the front. Oh, and ive just paid the insurance this month (499 quid) and ive just bought new rear 452s this monday. I am officially skint ! Still, it's worth it for the
  10. Allegedly the rear pads are badly worn 'on the inside' (the bit i cant easily see....hmmmm!). Outer pads have loads of meat on them. Nothing stuck between the pads. Anyway, i guess safe rather than sorry. CS got the PM in first, so i have asked for pricing on the EBC grooved rear discs and some DS25000 pads (to match my fronts). Nationwide want 220.54 PER REAR DISC ! Naturally they can...erm....spin lol Told them i will supply parts and book car in next week for fitting.
  11. lol - cheers. CS has aleady P'd me I will see what Nationwide say regards the life-expectancy of my discs, then probably get the EBC grooved rears from CS, simply because i am a magpie
  12. Its in at Nationwide this afternoon, i will see what they say. Will PM Alex now and see what he thinks regards new discs etc if i need them. Cheers
  13. No. Freaking. Way. Just been quoted £104.75 for Nissan to change my engine oil and gearbox oil (i supply fluids) and also for them to do my coolant and brake fluid...! WOW! I bet this triples once they realise its a bit on the low side
  14. Ive had SSS rear pads running on OEM discs on the rear for about a year now. Lots of meat left in the pads but the discs do look past it (discs are older than the pads). Im now getting a grinding/scraping noise from the left rear under braking. When driving normally (no foot brake) all is fine. It sounds like something might be trapped between the pad/disc. I can see some slight scoring on the disc itself, but other than that it doesnt look any worse then the other rear disc. I suspect its time for new discs anyway - OEM is a waste of my time unless someone sells then cheap. Any suggestions on what discs to get (and where from) and also what the grinding might be? Im gonna call Nissan for the THIRD time to get my car booked in for a P3 - i reckon i will end up at Nationwide tomorrow if im lucky getting the brakes investigated
  15. Cheers - I have tried Camskill and BlackCircles - both are out of stock for 225/45/R18 fronts that i need. MyTyres claim to have stock (although they dont seem to state anywhere if they are out of stock) - but they want nearly 240 quid delivered for the fronts...i paid less to get the bigger rears supplied and fitted lol
  16. I have still not heard back from them...odd. I want to spend money with them, and i have to do all the chasing Service Centre rep said she will call me later today or tomorrow with an idea of the price. Anywhere else in Notts that does service maintenance for sports cars?
  17. Utterly pointless buying a new car mate. Just wait another 6 month and get an ex-demo car for 5-10k less than list. Or, as has been suggested, wait another 2 years and finance a GTR for around the 30k+ mark I never have, and never will, understand folks who buy 'new' cars. Madness. Get one that is ex-demo or second-hand, 6 months or a year or more old and save shedloads !
  18. lol - i now officially give in with regards to tyre choices and preferences ! Im going to get some NanKang ditchfinders fitted instead I have the 452s on the rear as of yesterday. Not scrubbed them in yet but i dont expect sidewall flex will be any worse than the Proxes were that i used to run. 37psi ought to lessen that. My fronts are almost shot, so will be going for 452s on there too *if* i can locate some. Did you really feel that the 452s were that bad Adrian? Sidewall flex caught me out with the Toyo's too, so i increased tyre pressure a little and that more-or-less sorted it. I didnt find them any better or worse for grip than my old Bridgestone RE040s really...but then again i dont push my car that hard thru corners (accepting that the weakest part of my car ....is me)
  19. I did the reset this morning - the SRS light then flashed a LOT slower, but still flashed. So i turned the ign off, and fiddled under the drivers seat pushing wires etc. Nothing felt loose, but when i restarted the car the SRS light was gone Cheers all
  20. Had the Falkens fitted today. Lad who did the work was pretty small so seat was moved forward. I have reset to my position (further back). Noticed on drive home that the SRS light is flashin...I assume this isnt flashing to remiond me that i have airbags, but is actually flashin cos there is an issue somewhere...? I have the SRS reset procedure printed off (kudos to this forum!) but can anyone explain where the wiring connectors are under the driver side seat, incase i need to re-seat them? (Pun intended) Ta
  21. Hi fella - very kind offer! Im based in Derbyshire. Work in Notts, so either is good for me regards fitting. I used Notts Alignment Centre near the County Ground...they also said they deal with Micheldever. Its the fronts i now need (just had rears fitted). So im after 2x 225/45/R18s in the 452 varient. Im told the next container delivery from Japan isnt until late March ? No one i have called has them in stock. I will try Camskill and BlackCircles tomorrow, as a few on here have been lucky enough to get them. As for the 912s...i have yet to hear a good review in a Zed application, so i will reserve judgment. They dont *look* as good as the 452's or the RE050s etc in terms of tread pattern. More standard car than fast car imo.
  22. Thanks for the input everyone. I've still not heard back from Nissan, which would suggest that they are struggling to find "350z" in any of there technical service bulletins I'll probably leave the diff oil out given that this is the same service centre that snapped my bleed nipple (oo-er!) last time they did the brake fluid change I dont want to cause them too many headaches in one sitting...
  23. Brake fluid was done nearly 18 months ago and ive driven a looooong way since then, so i will certainly get that done. I didnt realise diff and gearbox were "for life" items though? Surely these need servicing at some interval? Is the diff a sealed unit? Am i best to simply NOT get that oil changed - especially as the Nissan mech might never have done that before? And i thought this would be a simple service for them
  24. Just called Nissan in Notts. Told them i need a P3 service, but already have an air filter (K&N) and will supply my own oils (OpieOils engine, diff and gearbox). All i need them to supply is coolant and brake fluid...and a new oil pan nut and washer. I would think 300 - 350 for a P3 with all the parts is a fair enough price. Thoughts on what i ought to be paying Nissan given that im providing most of the 'parts' ? Im due a call back later today - tenner says they want over 300 quid despite my supplying the parts ! Im having the following done: Coolant (including a backflush cos i have that solenoid noise at 4k+ rpm sometimes) Brake fluid Engine oil Diff oil Gearbox oil Pollen filter (apparently it has one - i thought they didnt?)
  25. Yep - dont mix and match types front to back..... Unless, like me, you can only get the rears lol. I'll be driving nice and slowly until i can get a set of 452s for the front sorted out too. With luck Camskill have some and i'll be running 452s all round by next week
