  1. Hi Does anyone know a good place for alloy wheel refurbishment in Sussex area? I have two wheels that need doing, especially as I curbed one of mine tonight (I'm normally really careful but just misjudged it Luckily that particular wheel already had some damage on the rim from the previous owner). Also what kind of price would I be looking at for the standard 18" Rays? The damage is only round the rim. Everything else is fine. By the way I ran my finger round the wheel in the gap between the tyre and alloy wheel and there is some kind of sticky black stuff. What is this? Thanks for any help.
  2. Sorry - edited my post prob a min after you read it - I was referring to the car in his ad - it has the updated interior (the three dials appear to have the nice silver surround in his ad). My car doesn't have the updated interior though Also another thing to look for are the rear lights - they should be made up of lots of led's.
  3. Again the Focus ST and Range Rover (ugly things) would both have been tuned to keep up - both FI cars and easy to do. Range Rover Sport has a 0-60 of 7 secs standard and with a bit of tuning could easily improve it's performance (not round a track though!). Just an exhaust an filter on a turbo/sc car can liberate a fair amount of hp. I suspect the mini owner had tuned their car or had the cooper works. A stock cooper S will have absolutely know chance. Even my old golf out-accelerated them with a fair amount of ease. The fact many cars try to give it a go against a Z just shows how much of a "presence" the Z has and how everyone else wants to try and prove their own car is "as" good (even more proved by how that mini driver had to leave a message on another forum saying how they kept up). For all he knows you may not have been giving it 100% which you probably weren't. I know what car I'd rather be in. The Z is only marginally slower than an E46 M3 (stock for stock and lots of vids to prove this on youtube) and to me that is enough to know the Z is one quick car. Although the Z is not the most powerful car out there. Agree with comment above, about how doing 60 you can just floor it and it keeps on propelling you forward with strong force.
  4. Looks good but you should be able to knock them a long way down - if not walk away. I got my 55 reg (6 months older than the one in your ad) low mileage, fsh, stunning condition, 2 years extended mfr warranty, all for 12k from a nissan main dealer. Although mine is the 276bhp model it will not be any different price wise - just only older. It's worth bearing in mind the older model actually has the most torque out of all three models (including the 309bhp model) and some say drive better than the 296bhp model (as in your advert) due to it having a fair bit more torque. So worth test driving a few of each first. Make sure you do get an extended mfr warranty in your deal as the mark 2 296bhp as there is a known oil consumption issue. Most are ok but if the worst happens you are covered. Be prepared to haggle down. My very car was up for 19k less than 12 months ago. The car in your ad has the updated interior and the seats are normal, just the light reflecting of the middle section of the seat which has a slightly different texture. As mentioned above look for the six buttons on the steering wheel and on the right there should be a cruise control button. Also, look in the centre cubby between the seats to see if it has the bluetooth adapter - and make sure it has a spare key!!! Taken me 6 weeks to get mine!
  5. Not according to West Way Nissan main dealers. I just bought my car from them in Manchester and they did a full service just before I picked it up. It is 3.5 yrs old and has 34k miles on the clock and the service log book reads as follows: p1,p2,p1,p2 (the fourth p2 being the service they just did).
  6. Surprised the stock exhaust needs replacing on a 2004? Sure it doesn't just need some welding at the joints near the backbox? They should last a lot longer. Maybe get a second opinion on it - unless you do want to replace it of course:)
  7. Had it happen to me at work once two days in a row - my car that is, not me. And it emptied it's entire bowels - not just a small spot, no, all over So know how you feel.

    Bridgestones

Mine too have slightly hairline cracking - I've seen this on other sports car tyres in the past.
  9. My 55 reg one has the odd strange noise when changing gear - noticable when you have the window open going slowly. Just a "characteristic" I guess. 1st and 2nd gear changes are always a bit "jolty/jerky" and not as smooth as some cars.
  10. I know what you mean about washing your car - you find all the nice imperfections and small scratches Does look nice when waxed though! Cheers about the petrol cap. Didn't realise it was actually plastic.
  11. Yours looks much better than the standard finish on a brand new grey 2009 showroom 350z I saw in a Nissan main dealer - the new one I saw in the show room had quite noticable "orange peel" which surprised me. Nice one getting it done.

    Stubby Aerial

I agree the original is pretty stubby in itself - same as the small one on most hot hatches these days. Unless there is another version that is much longer which my car didnt come with.
  13. Just checked and I can see the noise is indeed coming from the black plastic bit where there is a small nut in the middle of, actually on the car itself where the door hinge attaches to the body - the black plastic keeps slipping slightly side to side when the door is opened (if you open up the door you will see it towards the top). I was thinking about simply tightening the nut up to see if that helps. May try when a bit lighter. It may not work as there is no way for me to get behind the metal in case there is another nut on the other side which I'd have to hold while tightening. I'll see.
  14. Let us know how you get on mate... bad or good is worth knowing and not always down to the car. The Santa Pod track is notoriously slippy.
  15. Just had an email from them today and AFR in Crawley do rolling road sessions (3 runs all the power and torque readings, whp and bhp) for £45+vat. I think I may be paying them a visit soon to find out what my new 350 is putting out! Who else here has had their (mark 1) 276bhp 350z rolling roaded? What power at the wheels did you get? I've heard it is something like 230-240 whp but not sure, just so I know what to expect roughly.
  16. My car is only 3.5 yrs old and creaks.
  17. For some reason the Nissan badge on the front of my car just in front of the bonnet looks a bit faded (the actual black text saying Nissan seems to be a bit patchy) strange for a 3.5yr old car. Anyway has anyone else replaced their badge? If so how easy and quick is it to do and how much is a genuine new nissan badge? Thanks for any help and info.
  18. Yes the jets are actually on the wiper blades/arms themselves - pretty nifty and saves wasting water like in usual cars. Much more effective. I was a bit puzzled when I first saw them in action.
  19. I get the same clicking/creaky noise too on my driver door. Don't get it on the passenger door. Nothing is loose. I was thinking of maybe spraying some oil wd40 on the hinges at the weekend and seeing if that helps. Unless anyone has solved this before with something else?
  20. You may have to travel to bag yourself a good one. I eventually travelled half way across the country to get mine. So many times I kept finding out a car I liked the look of had just sold. I took a long weekend, got a list of four potential cars that I was going to look at in the area, just in case some of them had sold so I wasn't wasting a trip. Looks like a good car and price.
  21. I could possibly make it if it was a weekend. What's their normal rolling road session price?
  22. Hi I am right in assuming all modifications, even an exhaust (even a Nismo exhaust) and air filter will invalidate a Nissan extended warranty? Suppose I'll have to wait 2 years before I start modifying my car (certainly before a remap is considered) Although there is PLENTY of power in stock form.. I guess I am just addicted to modding my cars. My last golf vr6 was making around 200bhp on the rolling road. Lots of money spent on it but you never see it back when you sell it unfortunately - but it certainly gave a smile on your face! Thanks for any info. Cheers
  23. No not from around the Redhill area - I'm near Brighton. I've regularly seen an 04 reg azure blue travel the opposite way down the a27 dual carriageway. Not sure if they've seen me. Have you had your car remapped by GTart? I had a reply from AFR who seemed friendly and realistic and basically repeated what is said on here that you would need a piggyback, or aftermarket ecu, no other way to remap. Not sure why they have that page on their website. I got a good reply from Abbeymotorsport and will find out what GTart do in terms of remapping. Thanks. Abbey reckoned I'd get 310-320bhp with a remappable ecu and basic mods like headers, exhaust, high flow cats, air filter. All in all about £1500+vat (includes the Haltec ecu and their mapping) though so quite expensive but a good 35-45bhp extra on top of stock.
  24. Hi has anyone used AFR Tuning in Crawley, Sussex? They are fairly local to me and offer mapping of the stock ecu http://www.afrtuning.com/engine-remapping.asp?Make=Nissan&Model=350z For some reason their site doesn't say the cost for this remap. I will send them a quick email however wanted to know if they were any good? I'd only want the experts let loose on my ecu, knowing all the potential problems you can get if just slightly tuned wrong.
