  1. It looks about £2k over priced at least. I got my 55 reg GT for exactly 12k only last weekend. A low mileage will only warrant UP to £500 extra premium but no more. Be willing to travel. In the end I travelled to Manchester to get the one I wanted and I live in Sussex! I got mine from a main dealer with fsh, new mot, full service and 2 yrs extended mfr warranty. Bargain them below £12k otherwise walk away. They are out there. Just have to be patient like I was. Good luck mate and you're on the right track going for an azure blue 350 (but I'm a bit biased)! I stopped in Bristol on the way down from Manchester - had a long weekend in the 350 just after buying it.
  2. I've got an extended 2 year Nissan manufacturer's warranty ("Premium Care"). Would this cover the electric window motor? I hope it does! Has anyone here claimed on an extended Nissan mfr warranty for elec window? My car's a 2005 year.
  3. Hi Found this link a few weeks back - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordschleife_fastest_lap_times. Scroll down to the 8mins 26 times and you will find the 350z. The 350 (276bhp version) is up there with the best of them Even faster than the new Audi tts and a Honda NSX.
  4. Cheers guys. Will try and pm ZMANALEX for prices. Are these less prone to furring up on the inside? Or are they no different? What's the price of the standard single xenon headlight units?
  5. I've noticed the common issue of the front head lights fogging up - except its not condensation but the actual plastic furring up (bit of a weak point so I've heard), as other members have experienced. Im happy to put up with it but wouldn't mind sorting it in the future if it gets worse. How much are the whole head light units (2005 year with single xenon) and how long does it take to fit each one at a dealer? Can you put the later "double/bi xenon" head light units on a 2005 model? Is it a straight swap? If yes how much are each complete headlight and how many hours labour am I looking at to replace both? Thanks for any info.
  6. Rang them again and same result. They said it was the actual insurer (Equity Redstar) who produced the refund amount and that amount was only 10% of the amount left on the policy - ie 6 months. Then Adrian Flux take of £25 from that for an admin fee (pretty hefty one at that - used to be £12). Either way not happy and will not be going back to them again.
  7. Yes I agree. This time I have gone with Admiral who are much better and a direct ins. co.
  8. Paid up front in one lump sum (no interest). They said something about 90% of it is paid early on and then they have to take of their commission or something. I was with them for a year but before that on my old car for about 3 yrs. Needless to say I will never use their insurance again despite having been loyal over the last few years. I've 10 yrs no claims too.
  9. I have just over 6months left on my insurance with Adrian Flux. Total for annual premium was £375. They will only give me £3 refund! I'm absolutely appalled. Just to all of you out there who are with Adrian Flux and about to cancel - you will get absolutely no, or very little, refund. Thankfully I am not with them any more.
  10. Not thinking of selling it are you? Or are you going to use it on your car? How easy are they to remove and re-attach? Surprised they're not cheap as it's just a small long thin bit of black rubber/bendy plastic.
  11. So just to confirm you have to move it to the right first and then pull it up? Can't try today as it's caked in snow! Was pretty weird with closing the bonnet too. Did everyone else here when you first got your 350 try slamming it shut like a normal bonnet, only to find it bounce off the catch?
  12. Hi Has anyone noticed their front spoiler (the black rubbery part underneath the front bumper - think it's only on 02-05 cars) scuffed at all as it is very low? Mine is slightly. Is it easy to replace? Any idea how much this part is from Nissan? Cheers for any help.
  13. Hi Are there any good professional detailers (who can do the full prep/polish wax and sealant etc) in the south east in Sussex area? Thanks for any info.
  14. Cheers Stew. What are the paint sealants - can they be used after waxing?
  15. It was a nissan main dealer that did the machine polish. I will contact them tomorrow to find out what they actually did afterwards. Found this link - http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/P ... lants.html which product would you recommend?
  16. Cheers guys. Just checked and that is the stuff I have already tried although I did only use it on a soft cotton cloth. I will try using something like fine wire wool as suggested which will cut into it a bit better.
  17. Hi Had my new car machine polished a few days ago before picking it up and want to protect it with some good paint sealant to maintain a nice shiny gloss but also give good protection against birds muck etc. Please can anyone recommend a good product and where I can buy it? Thanks for any help.
  18. Cheers for the quick responses! Do Halfords sell it (they're just down my road) or if not where can I get some?
  19. Hi I have just bought a 2005 350z and one exhaust tip is nice and shiny but the other is ingrained with dull brown muck (clearly never been cleaned). I have tried some metal polish from Halfords but it has had no real effect. Please can anyone recommend what cloth to use and what product I can buy that will do the job? Thanks for any info.
  20. We've had snow down south (only a small amount but enough to settle on some back roads) and already seen two cars slide across the road. Bit wary in my new 350! Got day off work tomorrow so it's staying put all day!
  21. Price looks good but ad doesn't say if it has full service history. I would check with the garage where it has been serviced previously just to ensure no major work is going to need doing in the near future..also check the oil level as it's the mark2 06 model.
  22. Thanks guys. Very unusual process re closing the bonnet. Was a bit surprised it didn't have hydraulic lifters. Thanks for the info about the dipstick - I'll try sliding it to the right (if I can) and then lifting it and see if that releases it.
  23. Hi This may seem like a silly question but is the oil dipstick supposed to be really hard to get out? Just tried to check my oil and it wouldn't come out. Do you have to really yank it out? I'm a bit afraid of doing damage. Also the bonnet takes a bit of slamming down to properly shut it! Thanks for any help.
  24. Thanks guys. Yes the dealer did do a good job polishing it all up so am quite relieved. There is a small scratch at the back rear bumper which they missed but I also missed it until yesterday so was a bit annoyed with myself but other than that the car is lovely. Really shiny. As it hasn't rained I can't tell if it has been waxed or not. Is there a way to tell if it has been waxed? If may wax it this arvo if the weather holds up as they did a machine polish on the car so want to make sure it's well protected. In the past I have simply used Turtlewax Wash and Wax - which is basically just the detergent, and then following that I use Meguirs Gold System carnuba wax which has always seemed to bring out a good shine. I'm open to trying new things. I always hand wash myself - never use garage car washes nor jet washes. I have my own jet wash so am quite lucky What are Polymer sealers? Are these similar to paint sealer which means you don't have to wax for a long time and keeps a long lasting glossy finish? I saw this advertised in the nissan dealer but they charged £299.
