  1. Which one are you referring to that has the shift pattern on it and that you like? Which one do you guys reckon would be the closest match to the aluminium door handles? When I fitted an aftermarket gearknob to one of my old cars it didn't quite fit properly over the gear stick (only probably by half a mm) but was enough to make it "wobble" very slightly. Do the nismo titanium ones secure tightly over the gear stick?
  2. Do most (if not all) of you have a keycode, along with your spare key(s)? And do you get 2 spare keys then as well as the main key? Thanks for any info.
  3. Thanks for your replies. Is the interior driver door handle (not the silver door release but the black plastic handle/armrest) an easy part to take off and replace? Can the aluminium exterior door handles be replaced easily - is it a quick job or even possible? They too have some small scratches which I don't think I'll be able to remove (unless anyone here has managed to do).
  4. Hi I'm due to pick up my new 350 (hopefully) in two weeks time (counting down the days) but I did want to sort out some interior scratches that I noticed on the door handle of the driver door. Seems to be a common problem as I noticed it in other 350's I looked at. Wondered what stuff I can buy to make it look like new? Is there any stuff you can use on the exterior aluminium door handles as I noticed very small scratches on there too? Also what stuff do you guys use to protect and make the leather seats stay looking good and shiny? Thanks for any help and info.
  5. It may be different for the 350z but every car I've owned has come with a keycode (long strip of thin plastic with a string of numbers/letters) which is used to create a new key if you lose it - can be costly without the code. I know a certain Italian (not Ferrari) car dealer on brand new cars have recently started charging customers (£12-20) to get their key code - when it should be free and always has been and should come with the brand new car and the keys! As a result second hand cars are starting to come with no key codes. Wasn't sure if Nissan was doing the same. I know they always used to give out the key codes.
  6. Thanks. Did you also get the keycode?
  7. Cheers, yeah any pics welcome thanks Forgot to ask - with every Z I naturally assume there should be the main key (with remote locking fob), one spare key (with fob) and the important long keycode. Has anyone had any trouble getting the keycode when buying their car from a main dealer?
  8. Out of curiosity are the airbags covered by a Nissan warranty?
  9. Cheers for all the replies. There seem to be different "genuine" Nismo gear knobs around - the JDM Performance one and Vivid Racing links above show very nice ones but they are both different. Also, while looking on the JDM website I found this - a Nissan 350z gear shifter plate http://www.jdmperformance.co.uk/item_de ... odID=57768 ...will this "stick" on to the top of a stock gear knob?
  10. Cheers for the replies so far guys. What tyres do you recommend? I've used BF Goodrich on my old cars which were very good. Are the stock Bridgestones any good or should I opt for another make come tyre change time? Also, does anyone know about the air bag light issue I mentioned - is it possible to manually turn it off - hence making the light come on? How is the dealer likely to fix the issue as they said they would fix it before I pick it up - plus it is going in for an MOT and service before I pick it up.
  11. Hi Just seen this "genuine" Nismo gear knob http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/nism ... 19811.html Just wondered if you can get this or something like in the UK and if anyone has any pics of it their car? I'm trying to keep the car looking stock but getting a geniune or replica stock 350z gear knob is proving difficult and expensive. A bit of extra titanium might make the interior look good (especially on the earlier interior without the extra aluminium round the gear stick and air con buttons). Thanks for any help and pics.
  12. Cheers. The disks seemed ok. If they do need replacing I could always upgrade them by increasing the size perhaps. Are they 318mm standard? Are they cross / drilled ventilated? The only thing I did notice which I made a big point about was the passenger air back light being lit on the dash near the revometer. The dealer said it was because the airbag was turned off (??) and would be a simple fix and would be sorted for when I pick it up - is this a simple fix? Didn't manage to test any CD's. I turned the radio right up - seemed pretty nice Sorry Elecious - know how you feel - for the last few weeks I have been seeing nice ones advertised for sale but because I can only see them at the weekends to view them they have sold by then - so frustrating.
  13. Cheers guys. I'll also consider quality replica Nissan gear knobs too. Want to try and keep it all looking stock though. Although the nismo ones do look good.
  14. Yes I did see the grey one down there a couple of weeks ago. I too thought the mileage was slightly high but then the engines should keep on going and going and it pulled very strong. Only reason I didn't go for it was because I thought the interior wasn't quite as well looked after as some examples I had seen for similar money. They may accept less than 11k for it. Only problem I have found so far is you have to travel for the right car. Went up to Suffolk yesterday to look at one for sale and then Manchester today (stopped in Birmingham overnight last night) - bl**dy knackered but well worth it. How's your search going?
  15. Cheers will do. Are they fairly "twitchy" in wet conditions? The car was originally up at at just under £15k a few weeks back but they've been having to reduce it in today's climate. Also, in all the 350's I have looked at they have all had slightly worn gear knobs - seems to be a common thing. I asked about how much they are at the Nissan dealer and they said £185!! Does anyone know where I can get a genuine 350 gear knob but slightly cheaper than that? Any reliable Ebay sellers? Also, how much are genuine aluminium entry guards embossed with the Z logo? Are the standard black plastic ones easy to remove and then fit with the aluminium ones?
  16. Hi After a lot of searching I've finally bought my first Z. It can be seen on this advert: http://used-cars.carpages.co.uk/categor ... Fskupe.css It's an azure blue 2005/55 GT pack 34k miles fsh, 6 months tax all for 12k from a Nissan Dealer. I travelled a fair few miles to see it - I'm based in Sussex and it was for sale in Manchester. Im picking it up in 2 weeks after it's had a full service and MOT plus they are sorting out some very minor scratches. What do you guys think - was that a fair price? I could have gone lower perhaps but that's how it goes. Do you guys know any makes of integrated sat nav that can be fitted fairly easily to the connections in the 350? Or any companies that can do this? Are "Becker" sat navs any good? Cheers Matt
  17. Is the bose stereo the same in the earlier 276 bhp model compared to the 309bhp model? And apart from the silver round the gearbox and 3 silver air con knobs all the other dashboard parts/plastic are exactly the same?
  18. Is that "on the road" price - ie with tax?
  19. Hi Has anyone driven the 2007 onward 309bhp (313ps) model - how does it feel to drive compared to the earlier 276bhp model - does the acceleration "pull" from lower down the revs? I know top end it will probably have the edge on the earlier model with the higher bhp and extra 1000 revs before the redline but I'm interested in the pick up from low down like ~2500 revs. They have pretty much the same amount of torque but I heard the torque is more available lower down the rev range in the new 313ps model - is this true? Thanks for any help and info.
  20. Is it possible for an 06 reg car (registered in March 2006) to still have the earlier 280ps engine? It definitely is the earlier car pre-facelift with the older interior yet it is an 06 car.
  21. Someone beat me to it. I have been contacting so many dealers I have lost track of any that were out of my price range. I remember Crystal Motor group because I think they were offering an orange 350z for 19k but not sure on the colour. Why are some brand new ones £19995 like above and some adverts are selling 2006 models for over 20k ??? Strange market at the moment. I doubt they would budge on their price for the brand new one above. If only it was 2k less.
  22. Cheers for the replies guys. My budget was originally 15k so am already extending to 18k as I know they can be had for that money with less than 10k on the clock (may have to wait a bit longer but worth the wait hopefully). I was offered one of the brand new ones just the other day when I spoke to a dealer for 20k but just cant stretch my budget any more. I am seeing a year old one this weekend. Going to see how the 313ps compares to the 280ps model which I drove last weekend. Has anyone driven the new one and can compare it to the earlier one? Can you notice the power difference? 33bhp should be noticable but depends if the torque is higher up or low down the rev range in the later model (the lower down the better). Also, are all the "common" problems that occasionally happened with the earlier model (such as electric window motors etc) ironed out in the latest model?
  23. Thanks for your replies guys. I was just wondering what to haggle them down to. I am only looking at the latest model with GT pack. I may end up stopping at 17500 OR 18k with a year's tax (as that is £400 ). I did see one in Newcastle recently for just under 17k - fully loaded GT pack, but sold unfortunately. Thanks for the info so far.
