Hi Looking to buy the lastest 313ps model with GT pack. I have seen a few with 10-15k miles for around 20k with only around 10k miles. Is 18k a good price or can you get them for less? Thanks for any help and info.

Hi BulletMagnet Was that you I spoke to briefly in Worthing this morning just before you test drove the car? I spoke to you and your partner as we looked over the new model inside the show room. If it wasn't you it may have been another potential buyer as apparently there were a few more looking at it today. I too test drove the gun-metal 05 model and thought similar to you that the interior was a bit tatty for an 05 year (its less than 4 years old) and noticed all the scratches you mentioned. The engine had good performance but the gear shift was a bit notchy as you described - wasn't very slick. The mileage was a bit too high for me so am looking elsewhere - glad someone else thought the same about the interior - as it was the first 350 I have test driven and aside from the performance was a bit let down by the interior. I may look for an 06 model as that has an updated interior - not sure yet. Going to look at other 05 models too to compare. Cheers Matt

Thanks for your reply Beavis. Are the Brembo brakes the same size in all models? Is the Amsoil synthetic fully synthetic? What oil did you use previously that wasn't as good? Does the 350 run on fully synthetic normally and what spec oil do you need to use - ie 10w 40 etc? Any other comments welcome about the my06 model Thanks again.

Hi I've heard that the mark2 (296bhp engine "rev up") late 2005 and 2006 year 350z suffered higher than normal oil consumption but only in a few cars (although it is a known issue it is very rare apparently). Who here owns a mark2 350z - how often do you find you need to top your oil up? I'd consider a litre every 1000 miles (which I do every month) to be about the most I'd expect to top up by, ideally less. I'm used to checking oil on my current car (mark 3 golf vr6) and top that up about every 1000 miles. Are there any other sports cars that use high amounts of oil, such as the audi or bmw's? I'm looking to buy a 350z and really like the front grill look of the mark2, with the updated interior and healthy 20hp increase - however it is down on torque slightly and the oil consumption issue bothers me. How does the 2006 model drive compared to the earlier 276bhp model? I drove an 05 model today and it was brilliant - excellent pull from any gear and the noise is amazing all from a stock exhaust. Just slightly to higher mileage for me so the search goes on. I've yet to find an 06 model to test drive. Possibly next weekend. I can't quite afford the 18k to get the latest 309bhp model but I believe the interior is exactly the same as the 2006 model. I know there are a few common issues related to the 02-05 350z, like electric windows and rear drive shaft clicking at low speed. Were these resolved in the 2006 model? Thanks for any help and info.

Yeah I've looked on the Hertz website but can't see the Z anywhere, not in the Las Vegas area unfortunately. I've emailed them to try to find out more info if they do do it.

Do they "self-learn" as suggested? Most cars I have always had self learn depending on how it is modified. I know with the UK 350 this is not the case. Interesting how the early JDM ecu is slightly different.

Did think about going for the Corvette but a little pricey and done the usual US cars - fancy trying out the 350 over there. However if anyone knows where I could hire the slightly older 2003/2004 SVT Cobra Mustang then I would definitely be interested Although being a slightly older car I assumed it would not be available in most hire car companies. Definitely agree about driving outside Las Vegas.

Hi I have been reading stories about people having not small but big issues with oil consumption with the 2006-2007(296bhp) cars (not the very late 57 reg cars which had an 80% new 309bhp engine). Has anyone had any big issues with their 06/07 car or no more oil consumption than any other previous car they have owned? All cars will use oil such as a litre perhaps every 1000 miles which is absolutely reasonable...more than this is not. How do the earlier pre-2006 engines compare in terms of oil consumption? How often/how many miles do you all need to use a litre of oil to top up approx? Thanks for any help and info. ...update: just used the search and found quite a few topics on this

Any idea of the approx cost of the PE turbo kit (either single or twin) fully fitted on the road? I know the APS is in the region of £9k+ full fitted which is a big outlay. Just wondered how the PE kit compared. Also to be able to cope with the higher power, ie over 400bhp at the fly, a rebuild is necessary with forged pistons, steel crankshaft, and other forged internals etc. What is the approx cost of having this all done professionally - is it in the region of 2-3k or is substantially more? Are there any specialists in the south east that are experienced and able to do this kind of work - that are not only experienced but do very good value work and do not charge the earth like main dealers!? Call me stupid but what is the Y-pipe? Is it the same as the backbox? Do most aftermarket exhausts not have their own backbox/Y-pipe?

They are the idiots if they can't appreciate a good car What type of Fujitsubo exhaust did you go for and how much was it fully fitted? I like this type of exhaust as it seems to have a real metalic sound (like an aston martin howl) which sounds amazing. Does it drone on the motorway at all or is it only when you floor it that you get that lovely noise ?

Hi Will a late 2007 bonnet (with the bulge) fit all earlier models? The late 2007 bonnet is made of aluminium - is the older bonnet made of steel? Thanks for any info.
