  1. Hi Has anyone fitted their 350z with a Bassani TD exhaust system? They're widely used in the V8 market, especially in Mustangs/Corvettes etc but also have an awesome sound on the 350z too and look very good quality - sound clip: I have read that the Bassani TD exhaust for the 350z used to be single walled "slash cut" tips (as in the clip) and this year the tips are now dual walled "rolled" (which I personally prefer the look of as it would be similar to stock). Please is it possible to confirm if this is actually the case? Do any of the traders on here sell this exhaust system? Thanks for any info and help.
  2. Thanks guys. I may hold off for the moment and look at other exhaust alternatives in the mean time. I love the sound of the Bassani TD exhaust
  3. Looks like a very hard to get hold of exhaust
  4. Hi I'm looking for a used Nismo cat back exhaust (with Y-pipe) for a 2003-2005 350z, in very good condition. If anyone can help please message me on here or email matt76_3@yahoo.com with price and info. Thanks for any help, Matt
  5. Still waiting to hear back from the seller with the second-hand one.
  6. Are there any group buys planned in the near future for a full Nismo cat back (with Y-pipe)?
  7. Hi Scary, is this exhaust still for sale? Is there any chance you could post a photo of the "dents" you mention?
  8. Thanks Rbiscuit - do you remember if that was brand new or used?
  9. Thanks Anubis. If that's the price I may give it a miss! I am ideally looking to pay no more than £7-800. Nismo, in my opinion sounds what I'm looking for - quite an exotic higher pitch noise - similar to stock just amplified, perfect. Closest one I have found noise wise is a Bassani (US) exhaust which sounds amazing too (slightly louder than a nismo) but not sure I like the look of the "slash" cut tail pipes - I want similar to stock "rolled" tail pipes. Plus Nismo is an official Nissan factory sports exhaust which is good - not sure if this is better for my insurance compared to an "after-market" exhaust, as a Nismo exhaust is an official option from the factory if I'm not mistaken so not actually classed as a "non-standard" or "after-market" exhaust - but I'm not sure on this.
  10. Hi I'm seriously considering the Nismo cat back exhaust for my 2005 350z. However it comes down to price. I've heard figures of £600 bounced around which may or may not have been from a group buy. How much is the Nismo exhaust in the UK ... how much did you all pay for yours if you have one? If I went to my local Nissan dealer how much would it be - very expensive I assume? If not from them where else sells them to customers in the UK? Thanks for any help and info.
  11. You should be ok as I had the exact same thing happen to me in my old car - was on a 40mph dual carriageway and the van with definite tripod and camera on other side of the road. I even looked it up on the safety camera website, which tells you where the mobile cameras are every day and it was a speed camera but I was fine so can only assume they check the lane they are next to.
  12. If a TSB's relates to an earlier 2003/2004 car will my 2005 car still get fixed under Nissan warranty - purely for the fact a TSB exists (regardless of year)? I don't want to take it to a dealer show them the TSB and they so "no it only applies to the earlier year and not my year". If they do put up arguments like this what should I say? Thanks for any help.
  13. So was this an option .. I thought it was standard?
  14. Hi I have a full two year Nissan extended warranty on my 2005 350z. I have two issues: - My driver window does not have a complete seal when it is closed. I can see it clearly drop when I open the door and clearly go back up when I close it but there is still a very very tiny gap remaining which is visible from the outside - the top rubber seal does not fully cover the top rim of the glass and at 70-80mph the wind starts whistling in your ear..very annoying. - I also have the clicking rear axle issue, when changing gear at slow speeds it is fully audiable if you drive with the windows open. I have looked in http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Category:TSB and have found one TSB relating to the clicking rear axle: http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/TSB_04-065_-_Suspension_Clicking_Noise_From_Rear_Axle. My issue is it seems to relate to 2003-2004 models, yet mine is affected and this is clearly a common problem as I have heard of 2007/2008 HR models also being affected. I cannot see any TSB relating to the window not fully closing or window seal issue. Can anyone see a TSB relating to this? Am I right in assuming both will be fully covered under warranty as both are clearly "common issues" and NOT wear and tear? I also have creaking drop links - is this covered under warranty too? If not I can get my local garage to help me spray them by putting it on their ramp/lifter. Thanks for any help and info.
  15. Hi How can I tell if my rear view mirror is auto dimming? It doesn't appear to be working as I've been in a car with an auto dimming mirror and it was very dim compared to my 350. Also I have read there is apparently supposed to be a "compass" in the right section of the mirror of a 2003-2005 http://www.350z-tech.com/w/images/7/7d/05062_1.gif - I've no idea why you would need it but I definitely don't have one - does anyone else?
  16. I need this part - does anyone know how much it is? I have a 2005 350z. Thanks for any info.
  17. Generally with me it was the interior quality - scratches all over the interior of the driver door, tatty gear knobs and tatty leather seats that had never been looked after with any leather protector - scratches all over the body work. Eventually took a trip to a main dealer in Manchester and found one that was better than the rest. Not perfect but best all rounder. Dealer service was cr*p though. Took 6 weeks to get a spare key!! They also messed up the paperwork when I had agreed to buy it - I'd signed my name to the agreed cost and as I was about to drive home in my old car (collect the 350z two weeks later) the sales guy and sales manager came running out saying the price I'd signed against was £500 short!! Ch**ky sods. I'd signed my name to the price and was all agreed. Turned out the sales guy had got confused and thought I was paying by finance and used the paperwork for someone paying by finance when I wasn't. Apparently when you pay by finance you pay £500 more or something - either way it was very bad that they came running out and embarrassing for them, in their public car park with other customers - I started to argue with them in their public car park lol and explained the price was all agreed and I'd signed to it. They couldn't do anything and only afterwards did they realise their mistake that I was actually right but no apology. Apalling service - if I hadn't paid my deposit I would have told them to stick it.
  18. What happened with your car Madmarky?
  19. Thanks Dave. I'll have a go when I can get it on a ramp.
  20. Tried to look for the drop links today when I jacked the car up but couldn't find them as in the photo posted. Are they just in front of the rear wheels or closer to the front wheels, or right near the back near the exhaust just behind the rear wheels? Thanks for any info.
  21. A scooby or evo will always "feel" much faster due to the turbo when it kicks in and off the line an "STI" version Suburu or Evo will totally trounce a 350z, mainly due to the slight power to weight advantage they have over the 350z and primarily 4 wheel drive. However once rolling a 350z will more than keep up if not edge ahead unless the scooby or evo is heavily tuned - ie over 300bhp. The mid range acceleration (which is more real life than off the line) is where the 350z is very good. When you drive a 350z it never feels as fast as it should.. until that is you look at the speedo. You will easily do over a ton and think you're doing 80. The thing about the 350z is you don't have to drive fast in it to enjoy it.
  22. Thanks guys. 250 whp is excellent.. not far off what the HR makes at the wheels. I'll have to try and scan my graph next week when I'm at work. I'm surprised your tuner "calculated" the flywheel bhp being 280bhp when you got 250 at the wheels. That equates to only 10.7% transmission losses. I would have thought 250 wheel hp would be more like mid 290's at the fly..assuming transmission losses are ~15-17%. Either way you've got very good power output
  23. Hi Just been on a dyno and made 233 wheel hp and 242 wheel ft-lbs torque down at GT Art in Sussex. Very friendly and helpful guys down there. I have the 2005 model (non-rev up 276bhp version) so am quite pleased, especially the torque. My car is totally standard ..at the moment. Assuming approximately 16% transmission losses that works out at ~277.5bhp at the fly and ~288 ft-lbs torque at the fly. Very impressed with the torque. On the road my car does pull very hard low down the revs. How do my wheel numbers compare to everyone else with a stock 2003-2005 350z who've been on a dyno? My torque falls off higher up the rev range and am running fairly rich higher up so am thinking maybe a true dual exhaust and/or plenum spacer plus possibly unichip could be my next plan. Matt
  24. Out of curiosity Jerry, noticed in your sig you used to own a Civic Type R. How did it compare to your 350z? And what year is your 350? So in regards to your "clicking" issue, are Nissan basically re-greasing the parts? If you get yours done I'll be on their door to get mine done too, plus my driver window seal. I've got a 2yr extended mfr warranty. Let us know how you get on with Nissan.
  25. I'd be leaving the stock oem cats in. Adam, just to confirm, if the stock cats are left in and the Nismo exhaust is mated up to them then there should be no issues at all? Is the bore diameter 3" for the Nismo cat back exhaust compared to the stock exhaust at 2.25"? Are the tail pipes the same size as the stock ones?
