Hi Mark Any insight into the few modifications that are worth doing in conjunction with your uprev remap ? I have a totally stock car at the moment but definitely need a new exhaust as stock one is blowing so that is on my list possibly also including Y pipe because I have heard the stock Y pipe is restrictive and an upgraded one can release at least 5whp and very likely high flow cats or decats, and possibly, not convinced or sure yet, MD 5/16" plenum spacer and finally the uprev remap which at £350 is amazing value. But if you can say which mods are not going to release more than 5hp then I may save my money - either way I will definitely be getting the remap to get the most from the mods because the stock ecu is restrictive and only allows ~80% throttle. Do you know when you will be getting the XYZ Y-pipe and will it be the only mod on your test car with uprev remap? My last car, a golf vr6, I spent a LOT of money modifying it and only towards the end did I realise only one or two of the mods were actually worth doing and wished in hindsight I could have saved my money! When I contacted Motordyne they said the true dual system on their site (shown in the clip "MD Dual Shockwave Ti") includes the Y-pipe or what they call "XYZ Pipe" as part of the system. However you can buy their Y-pipe as a separate part without buying the whole system which I assume is what Mark is doing. I will be very interested too to see if Mark can prove performance gains just from their Y-pipe alone. The system is pricey at $1285, which amounts to around £800 and then £2-300 shipping at most so at least a grand. However £800-£1000 is far cheaper than other similar TD systems like Borla, HKS etc. If it really can get around 20whp gain on its own with an ecu tune (which is what some users on other forums have said) I will be very tempted and it is a true dual too which are always more exp. It does look very well made and seem to be one of the top recommended ones to go for on my350z.com where they have a lot of experience trying this kind of stuff (where it is far cheaper to buy over there than here in the UK where everything is expensive.. moan over!). I'm not sure whether it is lighter than a similar true dual system. The system is full stainless steel but has titanium tips which are fully adjustable so they don't protrude out the back. Found this incredible sounding exhaust Just thought I'd share this clip with you guys. I've contacted Motordyne and they ship to the UK. Very tempted! They are held in very high regard on my350z.com with proven power gains (incredible gains in fact) and even more with an uprev remap. I need a new exhaust so this is definitely on my list.

I was driving home from work a week or so ago about 6pmish and saw an 03 silver 350z, with a square rear number plate (so assume import) with a very nice looking exhaust, which looked like a Fujitsubo, in Lancing on the A27 going towards Worthing. It was a week ago but have seen it a couple of times before and after. I was in a 55 plate azure blue. Interested to know if it was a Fujitsubo exhaust you have.

Yesterday I was doing around 80-85 (I know too much) but before I knew it I passed a cop on the dual carriageway layby with what looked like a radar. I did slow down when I saw them but not sure whether I was caught. However they didn't drive up behind me to pull me over but assume they only send letters out these days. Assuming it was a speed gun they had and not checking tax if the worst has happened and I receive a letter 10 days later will the 3 points affect my insurance premium? I am 33, no points, no accidents, paying around £400 a year, car is unmodified. My insurance company is Admiral (which is the same as Elephant if anyone is with them). Thanks for any info on this.

Same here. I got my 55 plate gt with low 30k miles for £12k nearly a year ago at a main dealer, inc. 2 yrs mfr warranty and I've seen many older models now going for 14k mark privately. Market has definitely picked up over the last year. "Free motoring" for a year has certainly been true. I got mine right in the middle of the recession so was lucky. As to your purchase go for the one that looks most reliable and solid - slightly higher miles should not be an issue as long as the car has a FULL service history every 9k miles. I wanted a black or azure (bright) blue. It took me ages to find the right one but was worth the wait. It gets so much attention which I think is mainly down to the colour which makes it stand out as well as the unique 350z shape. You'll be very happy!

Hi I'm thinking of a new exhaust and the K2 is the main one that has caught my eye because it looks exactly like the stock exhaust with rolled slanted tips and is 3" bore back to the cats (many aftermarket exhausts are only 2.5" bore which is pretty much the same as the stock exhaust), and includes a Y-pipe (although they may charge extra for this now from what I have heard) but fits perfectly with no issues at all and for the price is amazing value. Please can anyone post any rear end on pics (showing the complete rear end of the car) of the K2 fitted just so I can see what it looks like? Are the tips exactly the same size as the standard exhaust tips or slightly smaller or bigger? Has anyone fitted high flow cats with this exhaust - is it prone to blowing (like the nismo can) if hfc are fitted? If you have fitted hfc's (or even if not) please can anyone post sound clips? No worries if not. Currently on youtube there are only two cars that I can find that have the K2 fitted so would like to get more of an idea of what it sounds like ideally before buying it. Does anyone know what the standard exhaust mid-pipe bore is - is it 2.25" or 2.5"? Searched high and low and cannot find this info. Thanks for any info and pics.

Japspeed were offering their Y-pipe included with their system all for £349. Is this still the case or is it now extra?

Looks and sounds very nice (I like the fact the tail pipes are rolled and slanted like the stock exhaust). Do you mind me asking how much he charged to supply, create and fit it? I need a new exhaust. How does the car feel to drive since fitting it. I know you won't make much power due to the restrictive ecu but Adam in Z1 says you will still make some power, even more with a true dual. Do you think the car feels slightly quicker low down the revs or in the mid/high range? I forgot to ask do both the mid pipes meet at the stock Y-pipe or do you have a new Y or X-pipe included in the custom package?

Been told the anti-corrosion warranty only covers rust from the inside (meaning not from stone chips) but definitely not paint peeling. However I am hassling the dealer because it is less than 12 month's since I bought the car and it certainly should not have the paint peeling (whether it's had a respray on the front bumper or not) - its within the first 12 months. I suspect it was resprayed because of stone chips and done poorly. I have emailed them photos however I don't expect any luck in this issue. Thanks for the replies.

Hi I bought my 2005 350z from West Way in Manchester (Nissan main dealer) back in Feb this year. Their website (under section "Purchasing your car" near the bottom) http://www.westwaynissan.co.uk/ says each car you buy from them has a 6 year anti-corrosion warranty. Because my car is second hand does this still apply, as long as my car is less than 6yrs old? Second question is if yes to the above, does paint peeling constitute a claim under this protection? My front bumper is very clearly pealing near the wheel arch. Despite them saying (not in writing, just verbally) that the car had not been in any accidents, it has clearly had a respray at the front, probably due to stone chips, but it was done badly and as a result is peeling badly. Before I shell out lots of £££ myself to get this fixed do I have any rights under this "6 anti-corrosion warranty"? Thanks for any help and info on this. Anyone else gone through this issue after buying a second hand car which is supposedly covered under an anti-corrosion protection - does it cover paint peeling? Matt

Yes it was done at a main dealer and I remember it being quite low after the service but not below the min mark so left it at that. I will definitely let them know about it though. Does Halfords sell the green coolant (just so I can top it up) because bit worried bout driving to work tomorrow (30 mile round trip) with it being so low?

Ok thanks. Is it ok to drive for the next few days until I get a chance to pop into Nissan? It was serviced about four weeks ago so surprised it was at the min mark although it was quite cold last night and I know it expands when hot, so being low after a cold night is not a bad thing. My coolant is the green one (as I know you can get different colours).

Hi Just opened up bonnet, car is cold, and noticed my antifreeze/coolant is just below minimum level so I need to top it up pretty soon. I have a Halfords down my road so would like to get some ready mixed coolant. Please can anyone tell me what type/make I should buy? Thank you for any help.

Ok, this is a few months later and when I posted this question the exhaust was very new and had only been put on a few 370Z's but no 350z's. Looked on Youtube and still can't find any clips of this exhaust on a 350z - is it quite rare? Just want to find out what it sounds like. Thanks for any help.

Cheers guys. The Japspeed K2 appears to be exactly the same bore as the Nismo system. Do you think I will lose low down power fitting an exhaust which is 3" bore? I was thinking of getting the Japspeed Y-Pipe too because I have heard the stock Y-Pipe is quite restrictive. Does the Y-pipe contain the two cats and O2 sensors? Do I retain my O2 sensors or do I need to buy new ones? Thanks again. ps I was down at Santa Pod today - saw some nice 350's in the stand - lovely yellow one with lambo style doors.

Hi Done a few searches but can't find an answer to this - what is the stock bore diametre of factory exhaust? Reason I ask is because I have seen a cat back stainless exhaust (Japspeed K2) which I like the look of and it says it is 3" bore diameter. How does this compare to the standard factory exhaust? Thanks for any help and info.

Not heard of this happening before. The engines are normally rock solid. Glad you got it all sorted though.
