  1. Looks good. 40k miles is nothing. Definitely offer 13k no more. I got my car 6 months older than yours (55 plate) with 34k miles, top condition GT model for 12k from a main nissan dealer with 2 yrs extended mfr warranty. So you should ideally pay no more than 13-13.5k, definitely no more. Surprised it has retractable door mirrors. I thought that was only on the imports.. anyone confirm?
  2. Cheers Stan. T-cut glass polish - I know what I'm doing this weekend Thanks for your help.
  3. Do the bosch ones still squirt the water out of the actual wiper arms like the oem ones do? How easy were they to replace? the washer jet bit is in the main wiper arm body, new blades attach after this When you say "main wiper arm body" - is this not part of the bosche replacement, as well as the blades?
  4. Totally agree - very pricey for a 2003. You never make your money back on mods.
  5. Looks good. Did you manage to knock them down quite a bit? Also, was the HPI all clear on the car? When I picked mine up a few months ago I didn't do an HPI but that was only because I bought mine from a main dealer. From anyone else, private or trade I'd always do an HPI, especially if others have had trouble with this particular company by the looks of it. Car looks lovely though. Let us know how it goes.

  7. Has anyone else experienced scratches on their passenger or driver windows? I have vertical scratches (quite a few) each about 4 cms long all along the top of the passenger window, across the width of the window as though over the last three years it has been catching on some metal across the width of the window in the door. Is this covered under warranty (it is definitely not normal wear and tear because my last car was 12 yrs old and had perfect windows)? When the window does close or open it appears quiet but clearly has been catching on something over the 4yr life of the car. Also my driver window does not close properly (there is a small gap about 1mm between the rubber rim and the glass) - it is noticable when driving at 70 mph.. really hear the wind whistle, and when I wash the car it occasionally leaks. I can see it is the rubber bit along the top of the window which is at fault.. it does not securely cover the top of the window. I have heard this is a common issue - so is this covered under extended mfr warranty (same as the scratched glass above)? Thanks for any info.
  8. My wiper blades are going rusty.. not happy and never seen this on any other car before!
  9. Nice one.. glad you got it sorted and credit to them for fixing the problem. Very surprised they left it in that state in the first place.
  10. I'd assume it's how efficiently the fuel is burning etc, every car will run richer or leaner than the next one to a small degree.. condition of spark plugs, maf sensor, injectors, ecu mapping etc all affect it, plus of course your driving style, how hard you accelerate in each gear, change gear etc. Could be that yours may be slightly over fuelling meaning you'll be running rich burning more fuel resulting in lower mpg..which is definitely better than running lean (which results in pinking and det) but worth checking out next time you're at a specialist. I was really trying hard to see what mpg I could get it up to but without driving like a granny. Of course I can easily get it below 20mpg I had done a reset on the day I got the high mpg. Overall since I bought my car a few months back I think the average mpg is around 25 or 28mpg.. will check in morn.
  11. I've managed 38/39 mpg on a steady 70mph run on motorway.
  12. Boot struts are covered under Nissan warranty as it's a known common problem. Are you out of warranty?
  13. 16k seems quite pricey for an R33 GTR. I've seen many go for the 12k mark. You never make money back on mods so you shouldn't expect to pay more just because it's been modified. Haggle them down and see how you get on. If not I'd rather go for the R34 GTR which can be had for 17k (if that's around your budget).. much newer and means things less likely to go wrong. An M reg car is ver likely to needs things replacing very soon costing a fair amount.
  14. A lot of the ferraris have them and lambos, but recently heard one on an RS4 on youtube and it is the best sound I have ever heard - of course you really need the V8 to get the kind of sound I heard Just curious as to whether they stocked one for the 350z too as would be interested to hear what it sounded like on a V6. Clip of tubi on rs4 from inside.
  15. Thanks for all the replies. Cross drilled ones would look the business and give better stopping power I bet. In regards to a lip on the outer edge I can't see any distinctive lip on the outer edge. There are circular grooves running all the way round the disks - starting from the outer part all the way through to the centre but not one particular big groove on the outer edge if that's what you mean (does anyone have a pic of what to look out for?) - ie if you run your finger over the surface from outer to centre it feels slightly bumpy, not flat. I've looked at the pads from the outside and there is still some thickness remaining (about 6-8mm I estimate) but to be safe I'm going to get the pads replaced all round as there is slight squealing occasionally. What make of cross drilled disks would they be for the £650 and is there marked improvement over standard (I assume they are the same as the standard 328mm size on front)?
  16. Hi, can you get a Tubi exhaust for the 350z? Thanks for any info.
  17. Thanks CS. Is there a sure way to tell if my disks would need changing? If it's just the pads I need that would be much better and cheaper.
  18. Does anyone know the price of oem rear brake disks and rear pads (inner and outer) and pads for the front wheels too? I'm not 100% sure but I don't think I can see much thickness left in the rear pads and when I run my finger over the rear disks they don't seem as smooth at the front disks. The rear disks just seem to be slightly "bumpy" when I run my finger from the outer part to the centre. Is this normal or a sign that they do need replacing? There's no actual grooves though. I need to know as I don't want to get down to Nissan or a specialist and they tell me I do need the disks replacing when I don't. How long (labour time) would it take to replace rear disks, pads on rear and front? My car's brakes are squealing very slightly when I come to a halt sometimes in traffic at slow speed. Also to be safe I'm also going to get the front pads all changed. My car is a UK 2005 GT with 36k miles so seem about the right time to be getting the brake pads all changed. Just know that replacing disks can be expensive. I assume the 2005 UK brake system and parts are exactly the same as the latest 2008 350z. Thanks for any info.

    tax

Only cars registered in March 2006 onward get the huge tax hike.
  20. Yeah I noticed the indented strip but further below there is the cross hatched area which I've been using so that's cool. I know on my last car the min and max marks were in an indented strip.
  21. But that £7k difference is not your haggling skills, its a combination of horrendous depreciation, a shite economy, an extortionate starting price and market price adjustment etc etc I was just highlighting how much of a buyer's market it currently is. I'm useless at haggling

    Clip of 350z

I believe this was a tv advert for the 350z a few years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5Fd6k99n_E Anyone seen this before? Amazing sound when its on high revs.
  23. Cheers for your reply. Anyone have any pics?
  24. Stupid question but does anyone have a photo or link to one of the min and max markings on the diptstick? Just need to be sure I am using the right markings. Thanks for any info.
  25. Any idea how much I'll be looking at for a front bumper re-spray? And also separately what it might cost for a quality machine polish all round the car (for a bit of paint correction) ?
