I have to admit Ive seen some of the questions before - and as far as they go, they are pretty easy ones compared to some tests. I got 27 correct on this one: official sample from mensa I think. (some of these questions really got me confused) http://www.mensa.org/workout2.php dont know what the iq mark is though. Here is another good one: gives a score if you click "view sample report": http://www.iqtest.com/prep.html

What not to do on a cold wet Saturday morning.
Chesterfield replied to SimonD's topic in 350Z General
Unless its written into the policy I cant see it would make any difference to be honest, its a standard button on the car, and can quite easily be turned on/off when trying to wash the headlamps Ive planted my foot in the wet with the traction control ON and its still wiggles like mad and could get you into trouble - with it off, Im fairly certain I would stack it up in the wet if I was heavy footed. In all honesty, I would never switch it off with even the slightest whiff of damp in the air. -

Sorry to see that The main thing is you are ok - the cars just a chunk of metal and plastic at the end of the day, and as you say, lucky your wife wasn't in at the time. Hope everything goes smoothly with the insurance and any purchase of a replacement. -
Crikey! And aiming for 1000hp? Surely thats likely to do about 2 miles before going bang! ?
-
Ive still to get one sorted on mine, its about 6 inch behind the door though, so no idea whether there is a way in with the tools. Possibly may be a route in from above with the roof cover lifted. There have been several reports of excellent work from Denttec on here, and its where Ill be taking mine without a shadow of a doubt.
-
If its not been used for a while the motion can be a little "jerky" when putting the roof down - it gets about half way then springs back a little bit. Well mine does anyway. Other than that, no issues at all. (franticaly looking for wood to touch )
-
Yup its normal. As above - when the roof is up, thats where the rear of the roof is held in place.
-
Yes yes - I know. Im out! I like the yellow too! I promised myself that Id only ever have a yellow car if it came with a lamborghini badge, but Ive caved. On the insurance, we pay £450 I think on an 05 roadster.

Congratulations! All the best for you and your family. -
Anyone catch the nutters in the beetle convertible!?! If that had flipped like some of the other beetles, that would have been awful.

Locked as requested.

It may well be staying on the site though if he does!

I have also been banned - and my works IP address banned. Which is strange considering the only posts I have made in the last few months have been on this website - one can only assume Ive been banned retrospectively for posts made over here. Unfortunately as normal, it will be members from this site that will be tarred with the troublemaker brush, as they have had no form of redress, no explanation and no discussion. As we do not run a police state on this forum it is something we have to deal with. By the very nature of our forums being open, and allowing this very type of thread to even exist, we have to accept that it will allow others to point the finger at this website on a regular basis, even if its 6 of one and half a dozen of the other, its only our 6 that gets left on the forum for all to see. Unfortunately that does not help us. From my own personal viewpoint, I strongly beleive that any 350Z club set up for the benefit of owners, should not actively censor links or resources related to the 350Z from its members. To that end I also strongly beleive that there is a very simple, and very swift solution to the vast majority of all this bickering. Of course we on this web site have to act in the best interests of 350Z owners, and to that end Im going to lock this thread as another round of arguing and bashing of another forum will do neither us, or any other 350Z related forum any good. It will simply give the impression to any other club (Z club included) that we are all just out for a catfight, whether its true or not, its not something that needs to take place. To that end, Im locking this thread before it does more harm than good to our own site. Im sorry if this upsets anyone, but please try and see it from an outsiders point of view looking at this forum. Perhaps we can all chat about this subject, along with anyone from the OC at the various shows around the land to try and sort out any specific issues or general ways of getting along. Im sure we can run to a few beers at a pub too. (plastic glasses though I reckon). Feel free to PM me or any one of the other guys if there are any specific concerns or issues you feel need addressing on this site, and we can do our upmost to fix them for you. Thanks, Chris.

Yes - I would. But the Z is the missus' daily drive, so I wouldnt really be that bothered - as Im already using an oil burner on a daily basis. Opportunities like that will not present themselves every day. If there is a path back, and you dont have to burn any bridges, then grasp the nettle. PS - Ill buy it.

important news.....2007 model with the VQ35HR engine
Chesterfield replied to steve_b's topic in 350Z Technical
Oh every new car will devalue - had I known that Nissan were planing on releasing a new model every 12 months adding to that depreciation, I may well have spent my money elsewhere. -

Ill have it Sarnie. Cant understand Nissan - how to alienate customers in several easy steps - just release a new model every 12 months and devalue customers investments! Brilliant. Id still have one though, as long as I could swap the gash bonnet for a normal one. -
Targa top Z. MMmmmmmmm. Now if only Nissan made one. Id be first in the queue.

Mike - I think thats the wrong way round, if you are talking about Interlace and Progressive. In simple terms, Interlace displays half the lines on one scan of the screen, and the other half the next time round at 30fps, then you get the odd lines every 60th of a second and the even lines every other 60th of a second. (giving 30fps) With Progressive, you get every line every time, so giving 60fps. If you can go progressive, then do it, but to be honest, I can set mine to 720p or 1080i, and I cant tell the difference from the sofa. Ive got a Pioneer Plasma, and a LCD upstairs. The contrast ratio on the Plasma is FAR superior to LCD. Which makes it far more useable in the daylight and for low light scenes. LCD sometimes states a very high contrast ratio, but this will almost certanly be "dynamic" contrast ratio. The way an LCD produces this is it adjusts according to the scene. If its a very bright scene, the whole backlight is increased to produce a very bright image, if it is a dark scene the backlight is dimmed. Whilst this works very well, if you have a dark scene with bright spots - the backlight cant do both, so it comprimises, and you sometimes end up with a great dark scene, but with any light bits within that scene looking slightly washed out. Then you have the "burn" effect to consider. Plasmas are inherrently more susceptible to burn than LCD. If you have a static light image set on a darker background displayed for a long time on a plasma, you are risking burn. Whilst more modern Plasmas are a lot more resilient to this, they can still suffer it. More commonly, it is image retention, which means after a while of normal viewing the "burned" image dissappears. LCD's are almost impossible to burn, (note "almost" - leave a static image on an LCD for a day or so and you may be in touble). If you have kids that may leave CBB's on fo hours on end or any music channel that has one of those ridiculous static logos, it may be something to consider. (look for a zoom function, so you can zoom a logo off the screen if that is a concern).

Actually I think the pictures would help many a person here, I was not aware that there were different types - maybe it would help people in the future with this issue?

There is certainly a lot of work gone into it, but its not a look that appeals to me. The 10K soundsystem may have been £10k when it went in, but over time audio components depreciate like most electronic equipment - which is to say, very quickly. No harm in trying it on though, if someone with more money than sense comes along, they may buy it, but I would think its a long shot.

quite a bit here now - roads are ok still apart from the minor ones which are showing signs of becoming a little tricky.
