Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

These are the dates of the events that are booked so far this season, more to follow when enties are posted.

I have a much better set up for on board video footage so hopefully I will be able to put together some clips and photos from each event.

Most venues give out free entry tickets to competeters so I will offer these to anyone who wants to come along when they arrive.

1.March 29th. Gurston Down(Salisbury)Test Day. First chance in the new season to give the car a good shake down.

2.April 18th. Gurston Down hill climb national B event.

3.April19th. Clay Pigeon raceway sprint(Dorchester).

4.May2/3rdMay.Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb National A event.

5.May 11th Castle Combe track day.

Hope some of you can come along to see the supercharged Datsun in action! Lol

Looks like my entry at Shelsley in May has been accepted as money deducted from my bank.

Really looking forward to this one as it's very narrow, twisty and steep so not best suited for a Zed but I love a challenge and after walking up the Hill with Mark you can almost taste the 100 plus years of history about the place.

Praying for a dry day or it could be a bum twitcher!! Lol

Final regs through the post today for the test day at Gurston down near Salisbury.

Basically it's a practice day at the venue were we can go up and down the hill as many times as we want to try out the car in various engine, suspension, tyres settings to fettle the car before the coming season.

This is my opportunity to play around with the Racelogic traction/launch control unit which I hope will give me some of the precious time back that I have been giving away to the rally cars with 4 wheel drive off the start line.

I have two tickets which are a worth a tenner each for any one who Is lost for something to do on Sunday 28th March.

Keyser may explain why this particular car arrived with a pit crew and needed assembling in the paddock!

Lol

Short video on track to follow.

Practice day today and we get three runs.

As I've never driven this hill before I used the first as a reccy and pushed harder on the second run.

Glad I did because it pi**ed down after lunch so my final run was a scary fish tail slither to the top of the hill! Got video footage of the dry run so if the weather forcast is true that's the best time I will get this event!! Will post up along with the Clay pigeon event next week.

One of the single seaters got it horribly wrong on the first sharp left hander and flipped/rolled over losing two wheels in the process!

Here are a few pics to give you guys an idea of what our oldest motorsport venue is all about.

How did you find the new brake set-up Andy?

Much more balanced.

The fronts were a great improvement over the Brembos but I always felt the car was on tiptoes if that makes any sense!

Now under hard braking the car squats down which feels better entering and exiting a corner.

All this is great but if it chucks it down tomorrow big brakes won't help me!!! Lol
