Ricey Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Someone said 'keep and ear out for the Vulcan'.........I said you'll feel it before you hear it! Quote
Floydbax Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 My Uncle used to fly these . I remember the residents near to Bruntingthorpe Proving ground started complaining about the noise from the cars using the runway, a couple of 'maintenance' runs of the Vulcan engines weekly soon stopped the complaints Quote
Beavis Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 She is doing a display at Cosford air show this afternoon. Quote
choptop Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I wonder if they play 'Bomber' by Motorhead as a backing track to the display 1 Quote
steve916 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Used to love watching it flying at air shows each year. Seen it flying over here once or twice in recent years Quote
sipar69 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Great that this is flying but I wish the same could be said for the Victor. An equally important and beautiful plane in its own right. Quote
ATTAK Z Posted June 8, 2014 Author Posted June 8, 2014 There's a Victor at Elvington ... I think it taxis now and again Quote
choptop Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) Great cold war bomber but piston engined WW2 planes more my cup of tea. Would love to see a Mosquito flying again. I hear the memorial flight may be getting one Edited June 8, 2014 by choptop Quote

ianphampton Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Spitfire and Hurricane did 3 passes over the race track on Saturday, sounded great and the weather had cleared so got great view Quote
sipar69 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 There's a Victor at Elvington ... I think it taxis now and again Yep I think they do taxi runs but no flying sadly. My dad flew in them in the 70s out of RAF Marham in Norfolk. Quote
JetSet Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Great that this is flying but I wish the same could be said for the Victor. An equally important and beautiful plane in its own right. And The Valiant too, over 100 built but I think there's only one complete non flying one left. Pete 1 Quote

My dad flew in them in the 70s out of RAF Marham in Norfolk. My grandad got a medal for working on these at RAF Marham in the 50's. Lovely machines Quote
