AK350Z Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 What brands/models is it coming with so I know what I won't be buying when I replace the wifes Megane next year? As it's Apple, it'll be a £2500 option anyway. 1 Quote
Wicksy Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I was gonna ask how much it will be. 2.5k?! That is insane. It is a great idea but at that price?! Quote

Stutopia Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 As it's apple there'll be a cheaper looking and feeling android version along shortly after 1 Quote
spursmaddave Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I think its going to be standard on Ferarri & Volvo initially, looks like a good interface but can't see the attraction of having tweets read out etc Sent from the golf club... Quote
BulletMagnet Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Nothing too revolutionary, on the Kenwood HU I put in the missus Toyota, when you hold the call button, Siri gets activated Quote
BulletMagnet Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Oh I I hope they'll allow the Google Map App to be used, cos Apple Maps still sucks. Real life example, put in the postcode for my wedding reception venue into Apple Maps...arrived at destination...30 miles from where was supposed to be Quote

rabbitstew Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 As it's apple there'll be a cheaper looking and feeling android version along shortly after Think apple are a bit late with this really. Most android phones have had really good voice controls on them way before apple came out with siri. I can just tell my phone "text wife im running late" or "navigate home" and it does it all automatically. Quote

DoogyRev Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 That looks quite cool. and although they may be a bit late with this, I think it was always going to come along. I will just add it to me Fezzer order in the morning Quote
spursmaddave Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) That looks quite cool. and although they may be a bit late with this, I think it was always going to come along. I will just add it to me Fezzer order in the morning It looks a really nice interface on the Volvo but why do you have to plug it in (it mentions the lightning cable) surely it could sync wirelessly Other thing is do you really want to be on the M3 with the bloke in front checking his twatter feed, answering a text and looking at the weather forecast I have had voice control in the Leon/Jag and had siri on my last 2 phones, never used it ever.... spursmaddave Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Looks a bit like the app radio Pioneer failed at..... Yeah that would be my worry, I mean car models have a refresh maybe every 6 years or so, phones change much much quicker, who says these will be compatible with ios8 let alone ios11! Ekona Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 You would think that there would be a contract in place stating compatibility for x number of years. If not, car manufacturers are stupid. Quote

skahigh Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Android has mirror link I think which is supposed to be a cross device standard, as usual apple has to go the proprietary route. I've just put an AppRadio in my car and although it's not perfect it suits my needs just fine. Much cheaper than a full nav head unit too! Quote
