Heysham Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Hi, I am thinking about purchasing a 350z, can't decide whether soft or hard top and really don't want one that uses oil. so if anyone can tell me which engines were more likely to use oil e.g between engine numbers. I am looking to change from a 2010 civic type s gt. Quote
martinmac Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Hi and welcome to the forum. If your username is a clue to your location there will be a lot of us meeting up locally at the end of June, pop along. Quote
spursmaddave Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 I believe it is only some revup DE Zeds that have been identified to 'use oil' but I can't speak from experience, my DE Zed has never used a drop between services in over 40k Quote
bronzee Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Welcome, have a good read of the forum. Just about every question you could think of has been covered. Quote
Heysham Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 Cheers guys, martinmac i'm just outside in one of the villages but will certainly try to get along to the meet. Might be a silly question but what is a DE zed ? Quote
NeilMH Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 DE is related to the engine code...it's the earlier variant. Quote
martinmac Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Look forward to seeing you, there will be just about every zed model ever made attending and also a few GTRs. Quote
Bems Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hi & welcome It will all depend on your budget which is? If its up to 10k then you should be able to get a good HR which is the last engine to go in the 350 with improved power and stronger internals. Quote
Keyser Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Get one of each - it saves the decision making Pre 06 of course - saves on roadtax along Quote
370Ad Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 To make things a bit simpler for you: 53-55 - DE - 276bhp - £270 road tax - Average price 7k 06-07 - DE Rev up - 296bhp - £470 road tax - Average price 9k 57 - 09 HR - 309bhp - £470 road tax - Average price 10-11k The numbers above are not exact so don't sue me if i am wrong Quote
Heysham Posted June 8, 2013 Author Posted June 8, 2013 Cheers guys, replacement hoods if needed look pricey. Where is the meet at? Quote
