New owner in the Midlands

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I've been snooping around the forums for a while until I finally got my Z last Thursday, since then I've been enjoying it (and the tank of V-Power Nitro+) far too much to actually come online!

I've been after a decent Z for quite a while now and ones I've been to see in the past I was far too slow and they were usually gone. This one popped up and was advertised before it was even prepped for sale..I was straight over there the day after, test drove it and put a deposit down there and then. It's a little bit of a power increase over my previous runaround, a 1.0 Nissan Micra!

18,000 miles, one owner from new and pretty damn tidy. It's obviously been used as a second car, and been sat under a cover on someones driveway, but I'm absolutely delighted with it. The CD-ROM Birdview sat nav is a little bit 'Nintendo' but it does the job. Does anyone know about upgrading these?

Mod plans at the moment include iPod enabled double din, new plugs and air filter under the bonnet, fresh boots for the front and possible exhaust change but many more ideas are floating around my head.

Anyway, hello :D

Welcome MiKeeB if you need anything for your new purchase give CS a call top guys.Know what they are talking about. I had a long running problem with my Z, nissan in coventry couldn,t sort it after over 18 months of trying, took it to CS problem diagnosed that day & rectified 7 days later when they could fit me in.

They are only a stones throw from you.

Good luck & enjoy!!

Welcome to the forum. Finding a really low mileage Zed is not that easy and that one is barely run in :) . With regards to the Birdview, there's nothing you can do with it really, Nissan never released an update for the CDRom version and most people tend to rip them out and put something more up to date in the cubby or replace the double din unit with a decent SatNav/Audio system.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome :D

Wasso, I hope to be attending a Mids meet sometime in the future would be good to get some 'zeditus' inspiration even though theres plenty to be had just browsing these forums!

Jetset, thanks for the info on BirdView, I figured as much, haven't seen a CD based nav system probably ever so I guess it will have to be a new double din for me.

nissan_pip, good to hear the recommendation for Cougar Store, its great to know theres a Z specialist not far from my front door who can be trusted.

Id have a look on the sat nav forums with regards to the update. I know they definitely did an update for the dvd version, as I got one for my 2007 OEM sat nav, but like someone else said, they may not have bothered doing an update for the CD version.

In all fairness your better off just sticking your phone ontop of the sat nav screen and using google navigation or waze for sat nav.

Thanks for the tip rabbitstew, I had a bit of a hunt but it seems that CD based systems were just as popular as I thought...not at all! :p

Think I will have to stick with iPhone until I decide on a double din.
