Just a thread for films at cinema blu or tv what you liked or didn't like , Any upcoming news on upcoming releases or gossip on films in production . Recent being Sam Mendes is now in talks to doing the next Bond movie ,old news I know but hope he does it.

This doesn't hav to be the next big Blockbuster thread just anything you might have liked that you've never seen before . It also doesn't have to be a critics choice award for a film just your personall reflection on whatever.

I personally believe the best Sci-fi film made is Bladerunner which panned on release but later became an icon of viewers and critics alike and rightly so.

And my favourite film of 2012 was Dredd just because it didn't pull any punches with the likes of getting a lower age rating to get the money in . Though they tried getting the money with 3d showings.

These two are sci I know but I love almost anything on film apart from the dreaded Rom Com .

So let's talk film every thing and anything.

Bladerunner is one of the worst films I've ever seen. Yes, it's arty and well shot, but the plot, acting and especially the pacing is dreadful. It took me 5 attempts to get through the SUper Mega Director's Wankfest Cut or whatever one it was just to see it all.

On the other hand, I rate Independance Day and Jurassic Park as probably my two bestest filsm ever. I could never get bored of watching either.

I also like most rom-coms, especially ones with Katherine Heigl in. And not just 'cos she's pretty.

I like a wide variety of films but one of my all time favourites is Shawshank Redemption.

Also while thinking about this I've figured i must be a bit of a Tom hanks fan, the green mile and road to perdition to name a couple.

Yeah I like ID as its the most expensive B movie ever made and a great light hearted bit of fun . Love JP also even though the blu is not up to scratch but a good book filmed by a great director and bought the most out of it ( shame about the other two though )

Shame you didn't get BR but not many do Arty sound like the 80s reviews ;) still took me a while to appreciate 2001 and by the way the blu is awesome on that.

Find me a good Rom Com and I'll find a man beaten down by the wife

SR is always in the top ten of film to see and with good reason it's strange but I find it's Morgan Freemans narrative tgat really makes this sparkle.

Seriously, Blade trilogy, bad boys I and II. Avatar, as good as it gets are all great movies!

I was with you all the way until Avatar. That is the the biggest waste of time in modern cinema.

Average viewer in 3D: "OH WOW, LOOK AT ALL THE PRETTYNESS! THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!"

Average viewer in 2D: "Wait, what the f*ck? Where's the story and the acting? This is pompous nonsense."

Truth.

Bladerunner, anything but the voiceover version, is one of my favourites, Sci-Fi or otherwise. Without agonising over it, my top SuperStu movie picks; Ghostbusters, Super Troopers, Miller's Crossing, Usual Suspects, Big Lebowski, Alien, Scarface, The Three Amigos, American Psycho, Maltese Falcon, Big Trouble In Little China, Bullitt.

Stuff I avoid includes; anything by John Woo, Ryan Reynolds, Spielberg since Jaws, all remakes except The Magnificent Seven, comic book movies except Batman, Tom Cruise after Top Gun.

My all time favourite movie is probably Raising Arizona. I'll watch anything with Olivia Wilde or Monica Bellucci in, regardless of my principles which might conflict with the film's genre.

I absolutely love movies, one day I'm going to make a film noir. Script is work in progress.

Inglorious Basterds is right up there with Tarentino's best, looking forward to Django on Blu Ray, I think the cinema is a sleep inducing place and much prefer home cinema.

I enjoyed both of these but would say Django just trumps it .

so many good films out there that its so hard to choose a few which i would call favourites. just looking at my collection, im going to pick casino royale, watchmen and casino as superb movies.

i was really disappointed with skyfall, so really hope that mendes doesn't get the gig.

for people looking for a good boxset to watch then breaking bad gets my vote. its on netflix and you get a month free trial with no commitment to take it out, so if you want to watch it for free then get cracking and cancel it after the trial

Ahhh the usual suspects. Good shout, superb film.

I only seem to go the cinema to watch films with the girlfriend these days and begrudge £20 bill before you've even sat down.

Band of brothers for a tv series is a good call.

I bought Pacidic on the back of it but found it didn't draw me in as much.

I used to love the Sunday afternoon films as a kid, usually b&w and ww2 based.
