Newbie in North Oxfordshire

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Well I am new to my 350Z, had her exactly 4 weeks and thank goodness for some dry weather over the last 2 days when I could really start to get a feel for her. I am loving her. She has some serious brut power and so stable. I had not appreciated how much of a head turner the 350 would be either. Thought I was one of the few that noted them since they first came out.

So I am the proud owner if a 2005, GT pack, Azure Blue and incredibly shocked about the amount of non petrolhead friends like her too !!!!

I have just got out of a VW Corrado VR6, which I have had for the last 11 years as a daily, so less power and front wheel drive.

I am keeping the Corrado as also a member of the Corrado Club and have organised several road trips of the years including some abroad to Motorsport events.

I was hoping to attend the event at Castle Combe but by the time I came on the scene sadly all the tickets went. I have not read the thread yet, but hope it was good dispite the appalling weather.

I am bound to have a few questions over the time, although I am hoping she won't be too problematic.

A few initial queries though :-

1/ The Parking sensor - can this be adjusted ?

I note that screaming pitch (very annoying I must say) sounds when I still am 2 feet away from an obstacle. Is this right ?

2/ Servicing and general repairs

Are there specialists in or around North Oxfordshire.

The Corrado I always had serviced at Specialist garages as found these by far the best, in price and knowledge.

Is this the same view with the 350?

3/ Finally, are local meets something that happen often, or get togethers at particular shows, events?

Hope to catch up with some of you soon

Wendy

Hello and :welcome: Wendy.

There's often a meet happening somewhere in the West Mids (about an hour from you - I know as I've a mate in Banbury). A couple of members drive up from Leamington too.

Keep an eye on the regional meets sections

Thanks for the welcome guys and pointers too.

Will hopefully get along to some of the meets and catch up with some of you.

That's twice already Horsham Developments have been recommended - which is good news.

Welcome Wendy,

Glad to hear you are loving the ZED. It was and is a nice one...

Please slow down though.

Greg x

I have been ultra careful in the wet and damp conditions - Surely that is enough !!!!

I don't think the parking sensors can be adjusted, but the screaming volume can be cut by about 50% by sticking a piece of tape over the speaker hole in the siren. Mine was stuck on the rear boot wall, just under and maybe offset from the back of the number plate. Lift the boot mats and have a look around that area. They vary as the sensors were a dealer fit option, so the location was down to the monkey doing the job. It's now much easier on the ears.
