rtbiscuit Posted February 6, 2013 Share Posted February 6, 2013 its not that hard to read, but its best done on a cold engine on a flat surface, and you have about 2 dips in the pipe before it starts to smear up the tube. as for putting it in, it just takes practice thats all. i didn;t find it that difficult. As said its not hard to read at all if you let the oil go totally cold. If its even slightly warm then yes the oil is all over the dipstick but when totally cold on a flat surface its very clear where the oil level is. Good tip, I live on a hill so have to drive somewhere flat to check the oil properly but it warms up a bit and is tough to read.
