SteveW Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Hi folks, Quickie, anyone know where I can get a massive syringe for changing the diff fluid? Obviously don't wanna spend loads. Biggest I can find on eBay in cheap plastic and in the chemist is 100ml. Even 250ml would be better, ideally 500 would be best I reckon. I have seen some glass 'rectal thermometers' but at £50 no chance, lol. Cheers Steve Quote

NeilMH Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Halfords used to sell oil pumps for about £12. I have used one to get oil out of a Caterham Gearbox successfully. Quote

Cheers Steve Its rough and ready, but if its just to put the oil in the diff why not an empty plastic bottle with a bit of plastic tube taped in the top. You might loose a few drops but its a cheap fix. Quote
spursmaddave Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Botox anyone..... Oh go on then.... Quote
marzman Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 A guy on here about a month ago used one of those pump up garden sprayers... you know where you pump the handle to build up pressure? he said it worked a treat... Quote
Dblock Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Can you not just drain it from the drain plug and refil it with a pump that fits on the bottle and a plastic tube. Quote
rabbitstew Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I use a pela oil pump. Very handy for this sort of thing, cost me 45quid I think from machine mart. I mainly use it when im doing oil changes on cars, but you can use it for pumping any liquid. Certainly had my moneys worth out of it with the amount of mates cars I service. Quote
Bakes100 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I didn't use a syringe for either the diff or gearbox oil, for the diff you just squeeze it out of the bottle , worked fine. For the gearbox run a 10mm hose through the engine bay down into the gearbox filler and fill from the engine bay. Job Done Quote
