deank93 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 If someone had a gun to your head and you had to lose the Zed in favour for another car, what would it be and why? I think I'd be torn between a 255 Clio V6 and an Evo Tommi Makkinen. Both are as rare as hens teeth, turn the heads of those in the know and by all accounts stunning drivers cars....and throw a few quid at the evo and your looking at some serious performance Quote
HassanZ Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Depends if we have to stick to the same budget or anything? I could come out with an array of alternatives if there is no budget involved... Quote
rabbitstew Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Theres a long list of cars id like to own one day, ranging from old hotrods, through to classics, through to super cars. I actually nearly bought a clio v6 before I bought the zed, but after doing my research into the I changed my mind. Quote

coldel Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I seriously considered an Evo TM edition before buying a Zed, but the 400 yard service interval put me off. I would probably throw a glance at an XKR or even a TVR! Guy off here, Ian, sold his Zed and bought a Ford Focus ST, now tuned to silly bhp and very quick Quote
deank93 Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 An Escort Cosworth has always been on my 'must own before i die' list.....but then i am from Essex so it is a legal requirement to own a fast ford at some stage in your car buying life. Quote
Railgun Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Pull the trigger.............I cant do it............. If I had to buy somthing in the same budget.............hmmmm. S3 maybe. My mate had one. Fantastic motor! Quote

Guy off here, Ian, sold his Zed and bought a Ford Focus ST, now tuned to silly bhp and very quick The wife put an stop to me getting a Tommi...i think i need to part ex her to be honest....I've still got the itch and I'm sure I'll scratch it next time around but you right about the service intervals, 4500 is a bit mental however like my Zed it would be a third car so it would be racking up miles too much. TVR would be very nice and huge fun until service time, I've always lusted after a Cerbra....if i went fast ford I'd have to go Focus RS rather than ST....as much as i like them i think of them like the boxster in that it considered the poor mans 911. Ekona Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Assuming equal budget, and allowing for second-hand bargains and ignoring my bias for stuff from Stuttgart, I'd pick up a TTRS probably. Very capable cars and a great all-rounder. Quote
Chris`I Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Would have to be a Porker for me, probably a Cayman S second hand Quote
coldel Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Would have to be a Porker for me, probably a Cayman S second hand I guess those of us with 04 plate Zeds vs those with newer cars are in different ball parks on what we can get as a replacement Quote
Ozz Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I'd probably spin round Jackie Chan style, take the gun and blow their brains out. If they shot me in the process I'd press restart, load the last saved game and try again. Either that, or go for a noble. 'go for a noble' sounds rude. Quote
Tarmac@TarmacSportz Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 MR2 With Ferrari bodykit just kidding Quote
choptop Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 If money was no object, it would be an Aston DB9 . Quote
deank93 Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 R32 GTR or maybe a hawk eye scooby Sadly you don't see to mant well looked after R32s these days, but when you do they are very tempting. I quite like the blob eye litchfield fettled T20 and Spec C....super quick. Quote
nixy Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 If we're using the same budget I won't bother - just shoot me, in fact maybe it would be just about enough to buy my own gun and shoot myself! Quote
slimjim Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 TVR ... every day of the week.... Can you say Sagaris? Quote
Chuck21 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Tough call and the source of much advert trawling! I'd say Z4 3.0 coupe, Clio v6, Megane R26 + cash to fettle, or a 968 Sport....or maybe a V8 M5....the list could go on but I don't think any provide the all round package that the Z offers for the money.... Quote
docwra Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Lexus IS-F, which funnily enough probably will be what replaces it. Quote
Keyser Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Bugatti Veyron Assuming "same budget" means what you spent on mods as well Quote
