Ekona Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 If an Aston had sneakytimes with a 370Z, that'd be the result I reckon. Beautiful car, let's just hope it's more sports than GT. Quote
as2bsc Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Stunning looking car, looks a bit like a maser to me but that's no bad thing Quote
Daryl Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Looks awesome to me,very very good looking, and its going to have the performance to match. If thats the way forward, then il welcome it with open arms! Quote
marzman Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Very nice. Love the current XK but it's a little bit to old man for me, but this looks really good. Quote
Vik54 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Am liking this notion of a 'push to pass' button Chris will still be on the road down from Scotland or in Edinburgh so hopefully he'll miss this Quote
brillomaster Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 that is very nice indeed! Theres a lot of good stuff coming out of gaydon recently - and a supercharged V6 in a smaller lightweight package, plus a little electric engine to quell the enviromentalists. guesses on the price? im pitching at £75-80k... Ruddles Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I think it's possibly one of the prettiest range of new cars i've ever seen and at 50k I'd imagine we'll be seeing alot of them popping up! Quote
Husky Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I know it barely seems posible but this is going to get even better..... The kind of better that makes you so excited you wee everywhere. give it time... Quote

Looked at the article before reading any of the comments, and that's exactly what I thought!! +1 - but didnt an Aston designer join Jag not so long ago when the Jags started to look like Astons? Looks great - hope they can deliver on the price front - I can see a specced up one going for a lot more than £50k considering all the Alu parts it has and nicities in the cabin etc. I'm sure I read that Nissan/Infinit have a similar auto gearbox that they've mated a leccy motor to for the same kind of effect as this and its "KERS". Keviswatt Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Theres a vid too .....Think i've just had a trouser inccident !! http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/defau ... ryId=24286 Quote
Chesterfield Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 The new jlr cars are very nice looking indeed. my problem with the brand has never been its looks though, which rival anything else in production imho. JLR need to invest just as much into reliability and removing a swathe of dealerships that do not offer the service that should come with such a car. Hopefully they can shrug if the old man image in time too which will help with the silly depreciation that jags have. They will need to tweak their pricing imho too as the evoque for example has stupidly high prices for the size if the vehicle. Because of the depreciation on jlr vehicles you can have a nearly new vogue for the price of a new rr sport, a nearly new rr sport for the price of a new evoque, and so on. That c16 will have some competition from the Alfa 4C in the looks/power department, but its definitely in the right direction for Jaguar. And yes im still on the road trip Quote
Daryl Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Ian Callum penned the jags and Astons yes, thats why they look so similar. Wish they would diversify the brands abit more. Have Aston as Hardcore sports cars, and Jags as GT's. Quote
Chesterfield Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Why would they do that? Aston and Jaguar are no longer part of the same group. They are competitors. Quote
DoogyRev Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Great looking car ..... lets hope it looks just like it when it goes to production Quote
