upgrade from 350z = 370z

downgrade from 350z = 300zx

simples

a supra is in the same family as a 300zx, so....

and as marzman said, its not a great way to go to come onto a site where people are passionate about a car and say what equates to, "this cars better than yours "

anyway; "why so serious son?" everybody smile :teeth::teeth::teeth::gathering:

Sorry but if you read my first two posts, all i said was "So if you fancy a change to a mad turbo car give me a shout "

and "Nobody fancy an upgrade to a quality GT car with performance to match and better some supercars"

I did not say a Supra/my Supra is far better than a 350Z! in the end i did say that its faster, which is no lie.

I also said that my Supra IMO handles very well for a heavy GT car, at no point did i say it handled better than a 350Z!

So if by saying "Nobody fancy an upgrade to a quality GT car with performance to match and better some supercars" i am slating the 350Z the i'm sorry! FFS i am after buying one :surrender:

After all i have not come on here and implied that some of the prices being asked for 350s for sale are unrealistic and don't really equate with other cars, how many of you have spent thousands on modifications/resprays etc and are quite happy that somebody thinks your car is worth less than a competitive make.

So maybe some will see where i'm coming from, some maybe not, although its all put in a polite manner, its still saying the same thing, so maybe now we have finished defending our respective cars, can we still be friends :) if not i'll just say :byebye:

I don't think anyone means any ill mate, i personally love the supra's and i intended on buying one a few years back. My humble opinion is that, I paid £15k for my Zed back in Feb knowing full well the power it had and for that money I could have had some serious old school power but I chose the Zed. Mainly because of the great drive, age and head turning looks. I recon most people on here would think it a bit odd to PX there zed for a much older car AND have to chip in extra cash. As said its not about the power with the 350's its the whole package.

Im not slating you car in the slightest, i would love to own it and would love the extra power, but just not in place of my zed. I think most owners would agree so its possibly why your not getting any bites on here.

I think your car is worth what you are asking for it and if its as minted as it looks someone will have it away in no time.

I've had some Toyotas, and for what they were, they were quite nice.

1974 Celica Mk.I 2.0l GT

1984 Corolla GT 1.6L Hatchback

My bro had

1974 Celica Mk.I (2.0L GT and two 1.6L ST's, all at the same time)

1984 Celica Supra 2.8L

1986 Supra 3.0L

He currently drives an old 1990 Celica 2.0L Automatic.

If you haven't guessed by now, my brother likes Celicas & Supras

Absolutely nothing relevant to do with this post, but I thought I'd do a "Husky"...

Thanks guys, as explained earlier i just thought some might be interested, but hey theres no accounting for tastes LOL!

My main reason for the Supra going is down to, been there, done that , spent far too much money, and now i fancy a change :)

Plus i would quite like too only spend around 10-11K on a 350Z and bung some money in the bank for a change ;)

I actually don't intend to do many mods to a 350, so theres a rather large statement of  to the 350s looks, as i am not one to leave anything standard for long :)

good luck with the sale, look forward to seeing you in a zed,

bet it doesn't stay unmodded for long, and the cash you put in the bank ends up on the zed within 12 months

as for sales i am right in thinking its on pistonheads and the supra club forum, could try some of the jap performance mags,

like said before, its a niche market, if you struggle might be worth stripping back and partially returning to stock, but would be a shame to see that happen.

 How many times have we heard that before ;)

Good luck with the sale/PX anyway mate

Thanks for all the good wishes guys :) and i realise that the look is a bit marmite, so it may take a little longer to find a buyer to fall for it, but i wouldn't return it to std, too much work gone into it.

I am suprised nobody has told you about me. I have been on ere defending my Supra experience with a few members, as I want to go back to the Supra and sell my 350Z Roadster. Like you I have had a few harsh comments but think that the 350Z forum members are within their right to slate me for using this forum when I am a real Supra Nut instead, sorry guys and girls but its like a itch I need to scratch. I like your car but for me its too much so a PX is not something I am interested in, Swop maybe!!!

Good luck with the sale though bud, you do have a nice Supra.

I guess us Supra lovers are like the odd family member that kept quiet about, as you say it is a 350Z forum

Thanks, but unfortunately i need to recoup some money, also i have an aversion to soft tops.

No worries mate, looks like I might have a good PX comming up this weekend which puts good money in my pocket, enough to get me an aerotop and do it up. I am the same with the Softop, I personally do not think it looks anywhere as wicked as the hardtops which is why I was interested in a PX with a 350Z hardtop but no takers I am afraid. Maybe they are all of the same opinion as me Take care and maybe I will see ya around.

i contemplated it doing the swap with you, but it was looking like to much effort to swap mods over etc, and i kinda like my car  it would have been like swapping a child

Ahhh... now I can vouch for driving soops for many a year....

But I am all show and no go - bit like the 350Z tbh...

...and I love the z.

Build is nowhere near as good as the Supra...(sorry guys but it is true...even for a 14 year old Supra)

Looks I think the z is better (but the roadster like mine only when the top is down!)

Tricky - yours is probably just too specialist for us 'hairdressers' :)

- nice car though :)

The comment on the first page about seats did make me chuckle mind - a friend has owned a fettled one for a few years, lovely car it is - we have managed to get 2 of us in the back before (6'2/6'1 @ ~17 stone each) but by god does it require some shoe horning. For the OP, good luck with your hunt, those pics of the car are sweet mind, obviously a lot of love and money gone into that!
