New Rubber -WARNING ADDED!

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

As title says really, the Nismo is in need of new rubber. Finding anything in the current 245/40/19 and 285/35/19 is proving somewhat of a challenge unless its MPS4 on the front and MPSS or MP4S on the rear. Im not a fan of mixing tyres front to rear even though similar.

So is the following config acceptable ? and hows the price look ?

I got a new set back in March from Blackcircles.
After a few emails back and forth to VIP Trade Sales <viptradesales@blackcircles.com>. got a full set installed by mobile fitter for £700

Well, they are on.

265/35/19 and 305/30/19

All in, £1100

If its dry this weekend i'll go get them scrubbed in and clean her up a little.

Gotta say, with the spacers in addition to the extra rubber, the arches are certainly filled out....

I love the MPS4S so much more grip in the wet :)

Yeah still a bit greasy at the moment, only got about 20 miles or so into them. So while wet, a bit of right foot lights the rears up in a straight line in 2nd.

As a side on this, what pressures are you guys running in the wider spec ?

Ok, need to update this with a warning to V2 Nismo owners.

Do not fit the 305 rears if you have spacers, 15mm spacers and the 305's rub under compression. Gonna need to remove the spacers from mine.

Fronts on 265 are absolutely fine.

My V1 is lowered with 15mm spacers on the rear and I can't even get a finger between the tyre and arch so no chance in upping from 285 rears!

Oh the struggles of these tyres sizes and I don't want Bridgestone Potenzas🤣

Has the zed been lowered

Nope totally stock springs etc

Can't risk any spirited driving on a B road now though until they are removed :/

I bet your gutted mate, having only recently buying the spacers as well

Well still have the fronts on, i'll keep hold of them in case I need to step down the rears on the next renewal. End of the day, ive wasted more than £70 on things before :)
